with wasteland workshop, i think a concrete home-makeover is in order?
I'm realizing now that voiced dialogue plus 4 guaranteed options standardized all conversations across the board, so that in order for any dialogue between player and NPC to make the cut for a 'meaningful interaction,' the writers have to make 4 options for every single convo, which also have to be voiced.
This might improve middle-of-the-road conversations like sidequest dialogues, but 4 is often too few options for main quest speech, and too many to warrant non-quest dialogue. The latter is prohibitive to moments like with Private Kowalski in New Vegas, such that writers might not fill the world with them because each answer needs 4 lines and all those lines have to be voiced. :/
I was running out of perks to take, so I finally took Bloody Mess. It's a lot better than it was in 3 and New Vegas. :v:
The voiced lines never add anything to the dialogue, Silver Shroud or otherwise. Every time I read a line in FO3/NV, I read it exactly as I would have wanted it spoken; no matter how close either VA gets to that, it will never be exactly how I wanted it. And in the majority of cases the male VA sounds fucking awful (including the Shamus line, if you ask me), so that didn't help either.
Welcome to the world of opinions. Mine's different.
I'd read "Shamus Mcfuckyourself" in the same accent and voice as the rest of the sentence and get a light chuckle. His sudden accent change caught me off-guard and I got a full-on laugh instead.
Does anyone maybe know why I'm unable to add mod items to my character through the console? I'm in the latest version, not in the beta, and this happens for every mod item I've tried. The game doesn't think they even exist. Vanilla items can be added fine.

Check your load order and replace 01 on your item number with the load order number
Check your load order and replace 01 on your item number with the load order number
It's the only mod loaded. That's just an example of what I mean. It gives me the error that says the item doesn't exist for any mod item, even if I check the specific item ID through FO4edit and put the load order number at the start. It isn't a specific mod this isn't working for, it's any mod.

Are you using the "help" command to check the IDs first as given internally by the console?
if you recently got any of the DLCs, the load ID of the mod would have been bumped up by that number of added .ESMs, so you wouldn't be able to rely on the first two numbers as given by anything but the ingame console itself.

Well I managed to add it to my inventory but it crashed when I tried to equip it :v:
Thanks.

probably, I don't have the DLC yet :vs: I'd fucking love to play with the DLC blocks though
There's many possibilities in Homemaker mod, which I gave some testing, like brick houses. However, Codsworth had serious trouble navigating them.

It's donald trump, isn't it
So my friend modeled and textured the stun knife from MGS4 into Fallout 4.

She did a pretty good job I think.
It's pretty unfitting for fallout but it's very well done.

Well she's a big Metal Gear Solid fan so I think that's why she did it, she's trying to get better at modeling.

I asked her to do the M1918 Trench Knife next.

How would you describe something that is fitting in fallout ? If we're talking about this, then the institute don't fit at all because they're very high-tech for the universe. The power armor don't belong in fallout? The stealth armor don't belong in fallout? Because hey, it's not inspirated from the 50s. This is a question i'm always asking myself about mods. What fit and what doesn't fit? Obviously everything from before the 40s are fitting ingame (as the divergence happened somewhere between 40 and 50) but what else can be graphically fitting the game ?

it's probably just the carbon fiber. Generally a no-no for lore-friendliness
but that wasn't the point of the mod, it sounds like

Thanks. It's my second ever model, too, pardon my bragging :v:

Carbon Fiber exists in the Fallout universe though? mainly for weapon mods in New Vegas from what I remember.
Other than that, I agree it's not stylistically designed, nor does it fit the Aesthetic in the correct fashion for Fallout, it's still a very nice job though Starlight, lovely implementation of the MGS model.

As far as I know, weapons like the Assault Carbine and the Marksman Rifle appeared in New Vegas because of the proximity of the Nellis Air Force Base, which had these weapons in stock before the war.

Lol yeah, but it's not the most accurate look-a-like attempt.
I don't mind ultra futuristic stuff. It's just the realistic/exact replicas of modern gear and weapons that bother me. Fallout always felt like an escapism kinda game to me and they don't really fit.
I honestly prefer fallout having a mix and match of styles when it comes to weapons.
Armor and clothing should be as close to the art direction as possible, but with weapons as long as it doesn't stray too far into ultra-modern-overly-modified-gun-porn-with-under-slung-care-package-launcher territory Im probably okay with it.
Having more modern, conventional, looking firearms show up alongside cowboy repeaters/revolvers, 50's sci-fi ray guns, and totally unique looking weapons like That Gun was actually pretty charming in new Vegas. It added a nice sense of weapon variety, and made sure you never quite knew what kind of weapon would turn up next.

The thing that sucks about making a Trench Knife is Fallout 4, is that inability to switch between stabbing people and punching them with the Knuckles part.
The thing that sucks about making a Trench Knife is Fallout 4, is that inability to switch between stabbing people and punching them with the Knuckles part.
Guns have primary + melee, is it not possible to hack that into a melee weapon?
The thing that sucks about making a Trench Knife is Fallout 4, is that inability to switch between stabbing people and punching them with the Knuckles part.
Primary attack is jabby jabyy, power attack is knucklepunch.
As to why the kunclepunch does more damage than the jabby bit... well... shut up! Go take this abusrd notion of 'logic' elsewhere now 'scuse while I go punch a man with my knife knuckles.

You technically have three melee attacks, if you count the middle mouse button, it might be possible to make it like that with the G.E.C.K.
You could do it like a GMod SWEP
Primary/Power attack as normal, then reload key to switch between stab and punch
Does anyone have an inventory UI mod they like? I've seen this, which looks alright, but the inventory boxes on the barter screen could still be taller, and the mouse-wheel scrolling an entire page sounds like too much. The thing I want most is to be able to scroll through my inventory faster, or even better search it, so I can find holotapes I just picked up or my pre-war money stack when I accidentally store it in the workshop.
I think it's pretty silly that, despite even showing up in the hands of more powerful enemies, there aren't more 'high tier' handmade weapons, like better welded pipe weapons or something
