robobrain comparison
I also like how they even added the claws the robobrains had in FO3, even though they're fucking massive now
I was disappointed to find out the Mechanist has no bonus dialogue if you're wearing the Silver Shroud outfit. :frown:
You know what would be cool? If you could use power armor parts on robots. Oh shit, I'm late to the party. Woops.
Wait how do you make your bots stay on those little squares on the floor? Is that a mod or some kind of vanilla feature I'm not aware of?
It's part of a mod, home-maker or SSEX i think. It adds those little squares in place of trading stands and guard posts, so you can build your own shops, or bars with the bartender actually standing behind a counter, or so you can make guards stand either side of the entrance to your house without building a massive scrap barricade on either side [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline]
it's neat they threw in some kind of camera/eye into the brain pod, and that the brain can move individually too [t]http://i.imgur.com/BWIBGky.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/aJpksaP.jpg[/t] in terms of designs this dlc has been absolutely incredible, the new robobrain design certainly has met my internal hype for it
That was the only part of the design I didn't like, i know it fits with the kooky sci-fi art style but surely the fluid in the tank would obscure the robot's vision? wouldn't it just have been better to have the optics on the outside of the tank with feeds leading in?. That said, the Robo-brains were a huge high point of the dlc for me- I remember posting in the previous thread about how fallout 4 lacks the darker aspects of previous games- and the [sp]robo-brain lab certainly delivered in that regard![/sp]. Im a little confused about what I saw in the mechanist's lair tho- [sp] there's fresh wet blood all over the surgery tables and the laboratory floor, is this just bethesda overlooking the amount of time since the bombs fell again, or was the mechanist actually harvesting brains from people the robots captured?, I feel like this information should effect my decision with how I dealt with the mechanist[/sp].
Maybe it's just me, but Dead Money (Fallout: New Vegas) is slowly crossing the line between a reasonable and fresh challenge and an annoying survivalist-themed fuckfest While I can easily deal with the ghosts (I have a high sneak and if things get rough I can always hack them to pieces with my knife), there is gas all around that poison me, elements of the environments that can set off my collar and kill me and I've to rebuild my inventory from absolute nothing

I liked the ones you had to rush to find and destroy, but having ones I couldn't just shoot was frustrating.
The final area of Automatron is freaking massive. I wasn't expecting it, the only thing that compares might be The Switchboard and the Sentinel Site Can't wait to see what they do with that entirely new area in Far Harbor.
Alright, the Mechanist DLC enticed me- I've grabbed Fallout 4 yet again since launch to see if I can run the damn game better than it did before. It being on sale for 40 bucks helps that. If there's any optimization tips y'all can give me, that would be beneficial.

So I have a question, does the season pass only have 4 DLC If so then Bethesda as good math head when you think the fact one DLC costs 9,99€ and the Season pass cost 49,99€ because 9,99 x 4 = 39,96
Holy shit the robobrain experiments are so fucked up. [editline]eh[/editline] The whole team behind them is fucked up, jesus.

I'm expecting more than 4 counting small ones like Automatron though; there's probably going to be at least two big ones like Far Harbour.
So my Dad wanted me to help him access the DLC since he couldn't find a way to download it. So I go on his PS4, check his add-ons, check the store, check his purchase history aaaaaand he bought another copy of FO4 and not the season pass.
Fuck, can't you refund it?
That's the hope, at least. Sony is pretty stringent with refunds, but they do happen on occasion.
It's pretty insane how we are at the point where season passed are at a high enough price that they could be mistaken for the game itself.
To be fair, I've had people buy me or give me expansion packs for games I didn't have because they thought it was the full original game since way before season passes were a thing.

So far, the only confirmed ones are Automatron (obviously), Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbour. Automatron is $10, Wasteland Workshop is $5, and Far Harbour is $25. Based on the price, Wasteland Workshop probably won't have a storyline and such like Automatron, instead just being all of the new items added to the workshop menu. Bethesda says that they have plans for more than $60 worth of DLC, so we're at least getting one more DLC like Far Harbour. I wouldn't be surprised if they do something like they did this time, considering how well received Automatron seems to generally be.
I just got the dlc, am I in for some quality fun?
I just got the dlc, am I in for some quality fun?
If building murderbots is all you need to have fun, very much so! If you wanted good story and interesting quests to go along with it, you won't get it here sadly.
anyone know any console commands to bring more than one robo companion along? I know of setplayerteammate 1 but they don't follow me around, I know I'm missing something
If building murderbots is all you need to have fun, very much so! If you wanted good story and interesting quests to go along with it, you won't get it here sadly.
How varied is the robots? Is there a number of combinations there can be?
How varied is the robots? Is there a number of combinations there can be?
Very, you get base parts from all existing robots, and one new robot, and at least 10 different styles for each piece.
How varied is the robots? Is there a number of combinations there can be?
There's a good a mount of options. You can mix and match parts from Protectrons, Mr. Handies, Assaultrons, Robobrains and Sentry Bots. And then you can unlock different armor for each of those parts to make them even more unique looking. There's a good variety of weapons, different paint jobs (though it seems like it's just solid colors), and a number of voices (though not as varied as I would have liked. A male and female voice, and male and female robot voice, an assaultron and sentry voice, and three types of beeps. They also don't have much to say.) And it'll seem limited at first, but once you beat the DLC you'll unlock all the schematics. Although most are locked behind the Science!, Robotics Expert, Gun Nut, and Blacksmith perk.
Uh so my game crashes whenever I get near the building where the mechanist's lair is at after the main quest, dang. Hopefully bethesda rolls up a patch soon to fix this and other bugs.
Uh so my game crashes whenever I get near the building where the mechanist's lair is at after the main quest, dang. If so, that causes the game to crash because HUD mods haven't been updated to support the new icon. It's a shame that there aren't any HUD mods that have someone dedicated to fixing them and updating them for DLCs.
So my Dad's all depressed about this whole season pass thing, and went off to take a nap. I went and bought him the season pass while he's sleeping.
I'm using the clear map mod but I don't think that counts since it doesn't seem to change icons. [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] It's probably a bug like the one with monsignor plaza after the game released, which was later fixed in the first patch.

Look for SWF files in there. Can you link to that map mod, though? I can't find it on the Nexus, so I was wondering if it was under a different name. It might be worth checking out this mod in case it is the icon, too.
