Fuck the Junkjet, I want a pipe musket I load forks and shit into.
Namely because the fucking junk jet is heavy as dicks.
[editline]a[/editline]
Like imagine that shit, load some powder in, drop a fork and some cloth in, fucking 80 mph fork with a non-ridiculously heavy weapon.
He has a fucking long dick, hence the name.
Yeah, I got that part, thanks.
Question about automatron, do the new raiders keep spawning even after you complete the questline? I want to finish the story but I also want heavy robot armor if it exists.
As much as I love the main menu music for Fallout 4, nothing can beat this piece.

I found small group of them wandering around with some robots, so I'm pretty sure they do.
Was there a mod which let you build in the red without needing to use bat files?

Does anyone know if Kent Connelly has new lines if you (Automatron spoilers) [sp]approach him dressed as The Mechanist? The Mechanist is a silver shroud character iirc.[/sp]

was walking around randomly and I came accross those dead brotherhood guys you track down in an early brotherhood quest. noticed that this guy is literally just the default nate with a different hair and skin colour- he's even wearing the vault suit under the frame.
Good I'm not the only one who noticed that.
Thank you!
It also lets you move stuff around you shouldn't be able to move, like settlers, followers and entire fucking bodies of water.
Im not gonna lie, i think the voiced protag was done really well. ive been doing the silver shroud questline before i do automatron and i dont think ive had so much fun with a character in a long time
I'm sad that you can't put Codsworth's bowler hat on any more if you give him legs. Even if you revert him back to normal, he's permanently hatless.
Though honestly, since he can only wear one hat, I don't know why Bethesda didn't just give him the hat to start with. It could have been something your spouse wore as a joke and Codsworth wears it to remember you during his 210 years of isolation.
I noticed Fallout 4 has some things that sort of allude to the rest of the world, like there's a poster that shows Chinese robots, a few non-American characters and unmutated fish in places. Is there anything else like those in the game?

I fucking hate it, but the Speak-as-shroud lines were amazing . At least they were on the male protagonist, the fact he genuinely imitates the shroud's VA and you can practically hear him smirking in the middle of his lines had me in stitches.

I'm at the point where I also think it was done fine, but I still think it shouldn't have been done in the first place.

literally the only good parts about the voiced protag are the silver shroud lines and the couple of really snarky sarcastic ones. you can't convey that with text. but other than that it really feels like a step down from previous ones, though it fits in with them trying to put on a super linear storyline with the player characters.

Aside from a few lines, i cannot see this at all. Bad choice for fallout? Sure, but at least the male va is pretty damn dwcent. I havent hit a scenario where the available options have restricted me so hinestly idc

It was really well-done for what it is, but it definitely feels more like you're shaping a character as opposed to really creating one. Like, for me, when I played New Vegas, I heard all my Courier's lines in Jeff Bridges' voice. I felt like there were choices there that I personally would make, and it was more of my own experience because I could do things that I would do in those situations. He was really my character, as opposed to in FO4 where I've customized this dude but I'm really just guiding his choices as opposed to making his way.
Don't get me wrong, I genuinely enjoy the voiced character. There's been a few times where I did feel his voice added something that definitely wouldn't have been there in plain text. But it's silly to deny the limitations that puts in place.
Just finished the Automatron DLC(I think?).
[sp]I hope almost all DLCs add onto the Silver Shroud questline like Automatron did. I thought it was really cool that you get speak as shroud options when talking to the Mechanist. I also really want a wildcard option where I take over using my robots now.[/sp]

This is something I really miss. It's such a small thing- but imagining hearing my courier speak in matt miller's voice from saints row 3 (who he shares a voice actor with funny enough), or my lone wanderer speak in the same accent as his dad really helped define those character as my own. I like what ive done with my sole survivor but he doesn't really feel like my character, or even the kind of character id want to play as usually.
If bethesda is really dead set on having a voiced protagonist in future games id like to see a few options when it comes to the character's voice and personality, even if they are as rigid as the sole survivor once selected.

Its my biggest worry about doing subsequent playthroughs that I'm gonna have trouble actually establishing my new character as someone separate from my first.
I feel the voiced protagonist would work better if they used it better.
For example, changing the character's general tone based on the dialogue options you frequently pick. Always pick asshole options? He sounds like a gruff asshole who's tired of everyone's shit for example.
If your intelligence is super low the character should speak like a super mutant.
It doesn't help that the voice actor, dialogue options, and dialogue wheel are all lumped together as the same problem when if all three of those were more refined there would be no problem.
Damn, I was gonna try and replace one of the robot voices with something else but the default male voice has 902 files in it
I think a lot of them are from other parts of the game, but still, that's a ton

I mean, the options presented are just fine, most of the time, but it doesn't feel like YOUR character. it feels like bethesdas character with a different face or skin color. just like how in mass effect, you can make your character look like whatever you want, but its always going to be commander shepard. in skyrim, at least (I never really played much of fallout 3/NV) you could make your own character and it would feel like your own character. you could roam around, do what you want, and even when you did the main quest, you felt like your own character, but in here, you're always this guy or girl looking for their son, screaming it out whenever you get to a plot relevant character.
its still a nice voice. but years from now, when you go back to skyrim, or new vegas, or whatever, you dont even need mods to feel like you're playing your own fantasy character, with your own background, your own story, your own future, but here? you'll need voices that disable the voice if you want to play a ghoul, or a raider, anything like that. you'll need some sort of alternate start mod so you aren't shoehorned into the normal storyline of you being some standard ex-military dude. some mod to disable all those lines talking about your son and your wife.
- snip - I forgot this isn't news.
