i really just don't get why they would even consider having a voiced protagonist while also trying to push this bullshit about radiant quests and redoing areas. you get a voiced protagonist because you want rigidity, structure, and quest complexity. "infinite" quests are the definition of cookie-cutter, they're stupid and simple and serve gameplay first if they can be said to serve the game at all. these two design philosophies literally could not be at greater odds with each other. it's like why even get a voice actor if you deliberately make it so 90% of their lines are "hey [DESIGNATED QUEST GIVER], i did [THE THING]." they might as well have done mad-libs with microsoft sam and spent the money they saved on bug testing
Just finished the Automatron DLC(I think?). [sp]I hope almost all DLCs add onto the Silver Shroud questline like Automatron did. I thought it was really cool that you get speak as shroud options when talking to the Mechanist. I also really want a wildcard option where I take over using my robots now.[/sp]
Oh man having a mechanist faction would have been amazing. every settlement you fully populate with automatrons would take you one step closer to taking down/befriending the other factions and taking over the commonwealth. I just imagined storming the various faction bases with an army of unique robot npcs, with each one being taken from a pool of all the units you have personally constructed at one point or another.
Pipe Shotgun is out.
While cool and all, I think it'll need some serious work because it looks absolutely out of place.
Is there a mod that does something similar to this that doesn't require Settlement Keywords? Because SK doesn't work with some other settlement mods I have, so when I use it I can't place stores anymore. Edit: NVM I found an older version that might work
Its my biggest worry about doing subsequent playthroughs that I'm gonna have trouble actually establishing my new character as someone separate from my first.
You'd be surprised how much those voice pitch mods by Asterra help with this. Though they're a little wonky to install atm.
If anyone could make a mod that replaces every single texture with sanic id really appreciate it.

VA work in games like Skyrim/FO4 is a waste, since all it does is lower the quality and depth of the dialogue.
Well, made my character for Survival, might as well do a rehearsal run before it comes out for real and try out Automatron. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/299860700343609992/78EE764EA0EB9926F5EE26420AE8FEB17A13CCE9/[/t] Now, I give you all a guess to figure out who this is and thus, which faction I'm going with.
In my opinion, automatron is a bit overpriced. The quest is super short and the only real substance is in the robot customization. 10 dollars used to give you so much more in Fallout 3. I got it from the season pass when it was 30 dollars so I didn't really lose anything but I do wish it was a bit longer than a regular main-game side-questline. That being said I had a really fun time with it and the robot customization is really good, just by Bethesda DLC standards it's a bit too short. I just hope the price-to-story content ratio is a bit better with later DLC. Edit: Just wanted to say again that I DON'T hate it, I really enjoy the mechanics it added, I'm just saying it doesn't have as much story content as most Bethesda DLCs of this price usually have.

I've encountered a bug where I had to defend the castle from gunners, and at the end of it, I'm supposed to speak to Ronnie Shaw, except, every time I try to speak to her, I automatically enter the trading menu with her. I'm also on Xbox, so I'm pretty much screwed.

I hacked KLEO just for fun, and now she's basically a second companion. She follows me when I fast travel and fights my enemies, but I can't give her any commands/trade. I can re-hack her and tell her to stand behind her counter in Goodneighbor to trade with her, but she'll continue to follow me after that. Other companions still function fine, except the one I had at the time pretty much fell asleep; it'd follow me when fast traveling, but not move or engage in combat at all. I assume it'd work if I asked it to join me again but I wasn't a fan of that bot anyway. Also, there seems to be a lot more delay now between bringing on a new companion and the dialogue appearing to send the previous one to a settlement, but that might have been like that for a while; before Automatron I never switched Curie out. Anyone know a fix? I'm on PC so console commands will work.
I kinda wish there was a voice pitch slider in this game. It's hard trying to play a tough black guy when you sound like some middle class white dude.
Come on people, is it that hard? [t]http://img06.deviantart.net/3081/i/2016/062/f/c/xcom_2_central_officer_bradford_portrait_by_azraele-d9tswor.jpg[/t] ...I'm torn between the Brotherhood and the Railroad though... [editline]25th March 2016[/editline] Eh, fuck it, Railroad. Brotherhood's actions scream ADVENT, even if they have the airship. Shame on you for saying Institute.
Whoever suggested replace settlers & companions with robots on this thread, im implementing the idea to my starlight settlement Guess who is in the kitchen :smug:
So, what do you people think is the best general purpose bot build? At the moment I've got a Robobrain head, Handy thrusters, an Unstable Gatling on the left hand, a Lighting gun on the right, and Voltaic armor (or the next best thing after voltaic if not applicable).
why won't my camera adjust to the face at the surgeon chair holy shit i tried going to the body menu and back but that doesn't do jack shit and using showlooksmenu forces the camera to the face after using it and i can't get it back ugh
It makes me really sad we don't see the Enclave in FO4, i mean i have skins and even the X-02 Mod but it just isn't the same. [editline]25th March 2016[/editline]
Whoever suggested replace settlers & companions with robots on this thread, im implementing the idea to my starlight settlement]
Wait- doesn't this mean you can't replace Curie because she is a bot anyway?
not if you [sp]made her a synth[/sp]
Isn't it supposed to be Long Dick Johnson?
It actually was supposed to be. I had just made and posted that like 5 minutes before I had to go to work so I didn't check to see if the name was right.

Was about to modify Codsworth when I realized I still haven't bothered to save Pressed-in-Gravy and his band of crack addicts so he's not available to be a companion yet.
