I don't fault anyone for wanting more representation in any game, but isn't this the exact opposite of lore-friendly? As in, the lore shows that someone is one way, and the mod makes them a different way?
Nexus users have always had a very skewed view on what lore friendly and immersive mean.

This is a given; i just wanted to express that.
i've looked at other similar mods in the same vein that makeover the women companions in the game, and they all seem to do the same thing: add eye liner, retexture the eyes, add blush, sharpen the cheeks, and call it ~Beautiful~

Nope, still sad.
Also, i decided to do some sort of small robot dealership, still need to clutter it up a bit on the counter side:

I love Automatron, but the one thing I think I'm disappointed with is that the music for the trailer didn't make it into the DLC. I figured a longer version would have fit as appropriate battle music in the final area.
Speaking of soundtrack, is there a place I can find the OST for the DLC? I really like the ambient theme of the Mechanist's lair, but I can't find it anywhere.

"Hey guys, check out my immersive, lore-friendly, all black Pip-boy mod. It comes with 8K textures and is designed with CBBE in mind."

"I put a lot of work into this, as in I went into Photoshop, clicked "desaturate" and saved"
It really sucks you can not assign a type of personality to a robot (good, bad, happy, sad etc) among the lack of additional voices such as protectron or gutsy. I was further disappointed I could not assign a role through the interface like you can do when hacking via your pipboy or terminal. I want robots I make to be guards going on patrol around my settlements or acting as vendors. I can assign robots to do jobs like sitting on a guard post or even at a trade stand; but they still give me the dialogue for them to accompany me. I don't think making a robot a vendor even works properly, when I tried it only let me trade it's inventory and not what was on sale.
It was a mistake on Bethesda's part to assume every robot I make should be a companion, this should have been a interface option I could pick among other jobs/roles.
This DLC has fallen short on what it could be, I love building robots but it feels unfinished in a lot of areas.
Regulars in this thread may remember that a while back I did shitty videos - that were basically dumb let's plays - that some people liked for some reason. Well, with the Automatron DLC out I felt like doing another one.

I hope you like mediocrity, because I'm practically built out of the stuff.

To be honest I'd have rather them left out all the story and the dungeon and just went full ham with the robots, customization, and integrating them into the world, maybe make one or two show up in regular raider dens or see a team of murderous kill bots or something running around. The story was neat but it definitely feels more like, "Lets tack it on and say everything's always been this way." Frankly I was a little let down when the PC just sorta takes Ada at face value for everything and is like, "Okay I've inherited the gift off complex robotics from a corpse through a semi-sentient robot."

You made yours pink too <3
The only thing that really bummed me out about the dlc was the fact that the Mechanist's pip-boy looking device on the arm is just for show on other npc. Your pip-boy really feels out of place on that armor.
I would like to see a mod wherein you can remove the brains of an NPC and make them into a robobrain.
I want to make MacReady into a floating shitbot trashcan.
Found a place that was cool and made a video while fighting in it. All the walkways and zombies reminded me of Ravenholm (My fave chapter of Hl2).

Man, that piece of music is really familiar, what is it from?
I swear it reminds me of STALKER, possibly Clear Sky.

Yup, it is. Damn, been years since I played Clear Sky and I still can recognise that piece of combat music.

It is a pretty awesome song.
I hate how after a certain level, battle music stops playing entirely because the game doesn't consider all the underleveled enemies you're surrounded by to be threats. Like even with that Commonwealth Spawns mod where I'll be fighting hordes of gunners, super mutants, and the wildlife all at the same time, to the game it doesn't matter since they're all like level 5-25 and I'm level 345.
explain yourself!
Concrete floors are effectively large cubes of concrete that generally don't care about clipping with the ground. As a result, you have the blocks of concrete that snap together evenly, cover uneven terrain well, and allow you to walk on top of them. You can make walls with defenses on top. The AI will even pathfind up there for guard posts, if you put the appropriate stairs.
Just play around with them some. They are good stuff.

It's insane how much better pipe guns look with a metal texture instead of looking like complete arse.
When are the modding tools coming out?
[editline]26th March 2016[/editline]
When would be a good time to reinstall game?
Is it me or does clipping in settlements seem more finicky lately? For example, I can't place the artillery cannons into the pits on the Castle Wall. And I can't fix the walls either because the fence trick no longer works.
Pipe Shotgun is out.
thought i'd weigh in on this mod since i have been using the other Pipe Shotgun mod released sometime ago
This one is also modeled after a concept art piece, though modified to be a single-shot instead of a 4-chamber revolver. it's also massive. it looks like an elephant gun. It has absurd damage (~230 or so on my character with no Rifleman perks), though the author is currently nerfing it and will update in a couple days.
one of its included weapon mods is an 'Explosive Shell' option for the receiver. This seems to me like the best use of it: i crafted some explosive shells and named it the Pipe Grenade Rifle, since it now looks and functions quite similar to one.
It's neat. Worth installing once the damage is rebalanced, else you might be getting instakilled by Raiders at close range.

D'aww, he's cute.
This may be late, but I've been turning off character lighting in the game for a while so I made a picture to show why.
