So I've had a playthrough using Melee weapons and become nigh unstoppable. What weapon/weapon type would you guys recommend for a second playthrough?
Lead pipe and pipe guns only Become Mike Haggar
I can't wait for durability to get modded back in, because I want to be able to do something other than scrap or sell weapons. And I don't like being the overpowered monster that I've become.

So, did you ever ran into trouble with enemies blocking your attacks too much even? Mostly for actual fighting head-on, NOT sneaking and/or VATSing people with insane "Blitz" perks etc.

There's nothing quite game-breaking like finding a bleeding pipe pistol and turning it into automatic pipe machine of death.

I kill so many raiders and find so many lesser versions on my already amazing rifle that condition rating would never be a worry.
It is indeed annoying that a simple junkie can block a goddamn rocket powered sledgehammer with his fists.
It's even funnier than you can block a Behemoth hydrant club that way too. I particularly like that an appropriate metal-clashing sound plays when you block an attack with a melee weapon even as small as the baton.
I feel that's a problem with every game with a melee system. Chivalry does it, Fallout does it, Elder Scrolls does it...
I know a lets player who found that on their way to the dlc location
I found it my second time doing the DLC, I think they did it on purpose, it is directly in the line of sight of the objective. Though only if you're going to swim there. There are some dead bots there.

Simply put, legendary weapons could fire/be used X amounts of time before they'd brake down into irreparable state.
I don't mean repairable durability though. So, the survival mode is out, but still no changelog.

now here's the question ive gotten pretty far into my first save, gotten to the point where you -have- to choose a faction to go with and finished the mechanist quest (of course, I did so as THE SILVER SHROUD) i really dont care much about the story at this point, i kinda get this fatigue with all fallout games where after the half way point i just get tired of it and wanna fuck around (new vegas especially, once i get past meeting house i barely ever actually do the dam quests) do you guys think i ought to start up a survival game and just become the settlement building, scrap scavenging scumrat that we all have been waiting to be?
Its out! But I can't play it till 4:00. Fuck
FO4's melee combat needs a goddamn chip damage system, based on what was blocked and what it was blocked with.
If people can figure out how there should be a mod to make power attacks blast through blocks like in Skyrim. AVP 2010's melee system worked well (for single player at least) and seems to have been a basis for Fallout 4 : Blocking is temporary and can't be held up. Light attacks have to be blocked. Strong attacks can be blocked but stagger you. They are interrupted with light attacks rather than by blocking. All that it needs is the part where strong attacks can't be reliably blocked and the system (which is already an improvement over Skyrim) would be improved even further, and would make fast weapons like the knives reliable against slow weapon users.
Non-power armored enemies blocking with fists, or knuckles, should have their arms crippled after one attack with slow-swinging weapons, two with medium, and three with fast, since swing speed is correlated with weapon weight and power. Blocking slow weapons with anything other than a slow weapon should have a decent chance to disarm. The Super Sledge and heavy sledgehammer, though, should have the ability to stagger when blocked no matter what. Basically, if a rocket-powered sledgehammer is coming your way, take it down with high priority or get the fuck out of the way. it's the same with enemies holding Fat Mans or Missile Launchers--you can't nullify their damage by standing there and throwing up a switchblade.

Blog post on survival https://bethesda.net/#en/events/game/fallout-4s-all-new-survival-mode/2016/03/29/96 Includes more detail basically what we got out of datamining on reddit last month, or whenever it was.

"Threats, unless added by a Recon scope, no longer display on the compass" welp the type of bed limits how long you can sleep. [editline]29th March 2016[/editline] "Carry weight for companions has been decreased and they will no longer automatically get back up if downed during combat. Instead, they will return home, if abandoned without being healed. " [editline]29th March 2016[/editline] the whole enemies not being displayed on the compass can probably be solved by spamming VATS. I do that already :v: [editline]29th March 2016[/editline] According to reddit, the console is disabled in survival mode.
Aww man. [sp]You can fast travel to the Institute via teleportation, but you can only teleport back out to the CIT ruins. I was really hoping it would allow you to use the Institute as a relay point to fast travel anywhere.[/sp] Guess that means the Vertibird is now the fastest method of travel.
According to reddit, the console is disabled in survival mode.
I can understand why they did this but it seems risky I've gotten stuck in map geometry and needed to noclip out, and at least one quest per playthrough is broken
