Maybe a sleeping bag that you can carry with you but you can only sleep out of combat and no too frequently otherwise you get a "You're not really tired" message
Wonder if This mod will work with Survival Mode.
I think it needs to be more brutal. I hope they revamp gas masks to actually do gas mask things
MORE brutal?! It's bad enough as it is
I think it needs to be more brutal. I hope they revamp gas masks to actually do gas mask things
I hope they revamp gas masks to actually be able to be worn with helmets. I know you can do that with mods and all but it's something that should be patched in.

I made a bunch of farming robots named TAS-Tx, where "x" is the number of robot they are. My happiness in Sanctuary went from 40, to 75. :v:
I don't think I'm a fan of Survival. It feels so far like that unexciting kind of survival from typical survival games, where I gather resources and just use them once in a while, while sleeping occasionally to not get butt fucked. Only survival game that really got me invested in terms of survival was Don't Starve.
I dunno, there's a difference between offering interesting but difficult gameplay features and literally just making it so that you get fucked and lose a bunch of progress with any potential bug or crash or computer issue. (or even just bullshit one shot sniper raiders and sneaky deathclaws spawning behind you out of nowhere) Keeping the bed thing for hard saves is fine by me, but there needs to be something else in play. Like, maybe a timed autosave every 15 minutes or something.
Yeah, someone's going to have to mod saving back in, because there's no way the game's gonna stay stable enough modded for that to not become a huge pain in the ass.
Does anyone have that bug where they cannot inform Ingram of Mass Fusion, thus starting Spoils of War? No matter how much I try to talk to her she'll give me the same dialogue about having a itch on her ass. Is there anyway I can reset her in commands? I need a way to activate her broken script.

As for fixing it: setstage 000FDC8C 20 Type that in console, it advances the mission to the part after you'd talk to ingram.
Nothing seems to happen when I apply it, no quest pops up or a vertibird to fly there. [editline]30th March 2016[/editline] Just as a note I do not have Spoils of War in my quest list, I can't remember if you're supposed to have that in there to begin with. [editline]30th March 2016[/editline] In fact, is there a way to add Spoils of War into my quest log?
The lack of saving is the worst part of new survival. I actually lost an hour's worth of hiking around to Diamond City because I crashed. It adds very little to the mode, just makes much of it a total waste of time. A feral roamer made me redo the first hour and a half of play at Wicked Shipping with two lightning fast hits. Sounds like a fun challenge, right? Wandering around hoping that the game doesn't crash, wasting hours of progress, is just very stressful. It's not fun, it's like taking a fucking exam. The diseases, needs, and lack of fast travel makes the game feel a little like STALKER, but the lack of saving makes those bullshit moments where touching a car sends you into space, or when the creation engine shits itself and dies, extremely painful. Also, If I needed to leave or something, my only options are to either spend time rushing around looking for a bed, or leave it running but paused. It should've just disabled quicksaving and put normal saves on a 10-15 minute timer so you couldn't savescum through a speech check very easily. Hopefully they change it to either an option or implement it like how I suggested. [editline]if you can read this, you're already dead :D[/editline] Not related, but fuck ferals, they shouldn't be near-silent master hunters. Those bastards sneak up on me near-constantly, which is kind of odd considering they're feral humans that lost their humanity and ability to be smart like that.
I know some people may not, but I really like the bed only saving change for survival. It adds a real sense of difficulty and risk which is something the game never had before. There's something on the line if you die, you don't just reload your quick save from 5 seconds ago and try again. Gives it a completely different feeling. There are also enough beds to where if you're saving when you can you'll never lose too much progress.
I like save point systems too, but there are just too few beds in the game for them to be viable as save points (unless survival mode inexplicably adds a bunch). If/When Bethesda lifts the restrictions on mods in survival mode, I'll make a proper save point system. Make them separate objects from beds and scatter them around the Commonwealth, in major settlements, at the end of long and/or difficult dungeons, maybe guaranteed to be in every Red Rocket station in the game, I haven't decided that one yet. And of course, craftable anywhere there's a workshop.
Okay, so I just started playing Fallout 4 with Automatron, and is it just me, or did they add more gore?
I've noticed I've been getting a lot more experience from, well, everything, since I downloaded the beta. Is this a survival only thing, or did it increase across difficulties?
Okay, so I just started playing Fallout 4 with Automatron, and is it just me, or did they add more gore?
The gore was already there, they may have increased the frequency of it with the DLC.
[editline]30th March 2016[/editline] In fact, is there a way to add Spoils of War into my quest log?
Tried searching the net with no such luck, I am not sure how I can forcefully add a quest into my log or activate it. I looked through very old saves that had them both Mass Fusion and Spoils of War active in my list with the vertibird ready to go. I recall using commands to bypass lock restrictions to do the Liberty Prime/Danse quests or otherwise fix Ingram breaking. Somewhere along the line I must have accidentally removed Spoils of War from the list? I have zero idea how I am going to add it back, I assume the only way is via a mod or editing files?
Really missing some quality of life mods, but god damn is survival fun. I really wish they didn't disable the console and mods, even if it is only for this beta testing period. It's made everything far more frustrating than it has to be.

So I'm confused, I downloaded the survival beta, and now all my mods won't work despite all three text files being marked as read only and everything is still in the files. Where is it reading these files from now? Edit: Nevermind, I'm reverting back to the current build for now.
Mods are banned in survival mode at the moment
Certain mods* Anything that changes content doesnt work. Mods like true dialogue and lowered weapons are fine (dialpgue is a bit janky until the en strings get updated)

From what I remember Spoils of War is one of those quests that auto flags after completing something else, so I don't think there's anyone I can talk to for it to activate. Though, if it starts with Ingram then no such luck, she just keeps talking about her itching problem.
You guys probably don't much care for it, but i got really bored and tried re-skinning that one female bobble-head mod to be more like the Nuka-Cola Girl, from the bus stops and calendars all over the world: [t]http://puu.sh/nZ4Li.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/nZ4Lo.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/nZ4Lu.jpg[/t] [t]http://assets-cf.gbeye.com/thumbnails/lightbox_102771_1456796014.jpg[/t] [sp]If i knew anything about actually modding the game, i'd probably try to give it a custom stand/base, and implement 2-3 of them into the game as rare prizes from Nuka Vending machines that give bonuses similar to the bobble-heads. But for it to be a proper thing it needs alot of work like custom normals, model edits, and new poses and i dont know how to do any of that shit.[/sp]
damn that's cute as fuck
I don't like the vault-girl bobbleheads. The proportions are awful, they should be based off the vault girl images. The vault boy bobbleheads don't have screwed up proportions like that.
I'd rather have that than my companion jumping off a bridge trying to get on a lift, or getting instagibbed by a molotov or poison attack. I feel like the whole "can't save unless you use a bed" is poorly thought, there's so many things that can just instagib you or just being prone to crashing, I feel like saving should always be left to the player's discretion in Bethesda games.
One bloke on the Bethesda forums made a good point that an XCOM Ironman/X3 dead is dead saving method would be more suitable. Save whenever you want, but you only get the one save for that character.
The idea of sleeping to save adds a whole new level to the story that I never thought about until now: If you save at a bed, then run along until you die, you'll return back to where you last slept which, in theory, means that everything that happened from when you woke up to when you died just then was a dream
One bloke on the Bethesda forums made a good point that an XCOM Ironman/X3 dead is dead saving method would be more suitable. Save whenever you want, but you only get the one save for that character.
But it's entirely possible to accidentally save just before a grenade explodes next to you and kills you, or for a save to become corrupted, etc. It's an interesting idea but the mechanics of the game and the fickleness of the engine don't support it.

Now we just need the VAs to record lines saying "No, no, it didn't happen like that. Let me go back and tell it again."
