Everyone takes/deals more damage, so while you can go down in a few shots, so do the raiders. It's certainly not Stalker levels but its a step up from the traditional Beth system of "Harder difficulty just means higher raider health".
Oh, that sounds much better than I thought it was about. Alright, my mistake on the previous post.
:snip:
Really wish there was a mod that increased the horizontal speed for the power armor jetpack so that I can imagine i'm some sort of wasteland iron man.
Is automatron just not enabled in the survival mode beta? It's listed as "coming soon" under the add-ons section.
Just a little PSA in case anybody is using this:
A method for bypassing Bethesda's disabling of mods in the survival beta has been found that involves using the AutoExec file and the hlp command. Using this command will result in broken junk items being made that are sorted under the misc tab when scrapping objects. These broken junk items are useless and can't be used in crafting, essentially breaking a key aspect of the crafting system.
It could result in bigger, currently unknown bugs further along the game. So don't use it.

Survival Mode right now is pretty much just feature creep. Too much shit going on, too many ways to fuck yourself up, too many obstacles to having fun due to utter bullshit.
It also locks melee combat out as a viable option because you'll never have enough AP to make it work with VATS and people can just instantly murder you before you get close enough for a hit.

To do melee you have to set up ambushes. Save it for a lone enemy, a weakened enemy or melee enemy.
Like if saving can only be done with beds why does interacting with a bed straight up hurt you ?
You take and health and limb damage whenever you save. That's retarded.

Is it surprising charging people with a sword doesn't work out when they have guns?
Is it surprising charging people with a sword doesn't work out when they have guns?
It's not, but it's a problem when the enemy can do the same to you and get away with it, because enemies can dodge bullets and charge you when the player cannot.
i don't remember what game this was but there was a feature where you could stop at any time, save your progress, and then quit. the save was deleted when you started playing again. it seems like that might also work well in survival mode in addition to the bed saving.

Most games with permadeath do that sort of thing so you can save without savescumming.

it says that even without the survival beta, not sure why
I also remember reading a post from a dev that said automatron would work with the beta since it's official content and such
Have you considered that might be a bug?
Also I don't remember taking limb damage.
if you're losing health and taking limb damage, you're probably over encumbered. You take periodic damage while you're over encumbered

You definitely do not do either of those things when you save, you've probably got a disease or are overencumbered. I don't like survival either but it doesn't sound like you've put much thought into this if you seriously believe interacting with a bed will always hurt you.
I personally think that Survival is deliciously hard, it totally changes the way I play. I was heading to Sanctuary with some goodies and heard a raider in Concord say he noticed me, and instead of finding him and killing him because hey, why not, he can barely tickle me, I start sneaking and moving slowly to make sure he didn't find me, because I wanted to be careful, not be found, and survive my way home.
So what perks should be taken when starting a new game on survival?
Is this a common bug? I've got exactly enough copper, aluminum, and steel to repair the leg on my power armor, but I get a popup that says I lack the required material to repair it; the fucking thing even says 7/7, 1/1, and 2/2. I'm trying to do some on-the-go repairs so I don't have to drop 50 pounds of stuff when my "Calibrated" leg gives out
I've checked the damage thing several times and it's a major bug with how sleeping works.
Basically the way healing from beds is "disabled" is that the game heals you as in normal gameplay, then reverts it back to your normal health, and during that rollback also applies all fatigue damage and various status effects you may have obtained while sleeping. Having several status effects occur (so basically becoming peckish and parched) causes this rollback to be delayed some more and to come out inaccurately, leading to loss of health which seems to get worse with radiation.

It's a bug when you have the exact amount of materials needed.

If you have multiples of armor pieces, you'll have to move in the inventory and re-select to repair. Happens when you've saved up some pieces and try to repair all at once for me.
Also, I didn't understand the question till now lol, Ganerumo's right.

The idea that if i die everything i did in the last 15 minutes is moot adds to the tension so much, i cant wait to actually care about settlements because now theyre valuable safe havens
Also it seems like even being thirsty causes damage, so if you fall asleep and become thirsty while being asleep you'll take significant damage.
Thirst is definitely over the top in this game and needs some calibrating. The amount you need to drink to even go from thirsty to hydrated is insane.

Are you saying this happens consistently? Because if so that's fucking ridiculous that it hasn't been fixed
Are you saying this happens consistently? Because if so that's fucking ridiculous that it hasn't been fixed
Seems like it's mostly random from my own experience. I've only had it happen twice.
I sure wish I could still play this game. Starting a new save only stopped me from crashing when I surpassed 3 minutes of play, now it crashes randomly and I can't figure out what the fucking problem is.

works for building, not for crafting

Somebody posted the debug item code in the thread that gives you many copies of every resource in the game, but in the form of a one pound toaster. Cant remember what it is called though.
Its what I used on my third play to speed up the building, since you need to have the right perks to build things anyways.
Anyone know what its called?
