whose dumb idea was it to even make synths in the first place? like if you're just gonna use them as slave labor why don't you design them with more than two arms so they can carry more stuff? and not give them a creepy monster mash face? like just make a bunch of Shoggoths
What, why?
I'm not saying someone should, that'd probably be terrible. I can see someone trying it though, like how there's a mod to put the gta iv liberty city into San Andreas or etc
[sp]Not fan how some of you call synths robots(of course none of you is directly saying gen what and so on though), they are more like lab grown humans which makes them fucking lame because robots are cool and flesh isn't.[/sp]
That's another point. If synths are biological enough to pass as human on DNA tests, wtf is the plastic component I pull out of them when im cleansing and purging?. Wouldn't something like that show up on an xray?. What was going on in that covenant mission [sp] where they decide that torturing the synths is the only way to tell if they are human or not?, why not just whack them through an xray and look for the plastic thing the size of a soda can?.[/sp]
why dont flatscreen anythings exist why is the processing power equal to an apple-2 pc why the fuck can they make a nuke-hauling giant robot but not something better than THAT
If you just look at them at face value, it's very easy to just see synths as their only accomplishment, but it is very much not the case.
I'd argue it's the other way around. They look very advanced at first with their shiny labs and techy looking tools with complicated names, but the more you think about it the less advanced they appear. It's as therealrudy said, the terminals look advanced, but in reality, they aren't really any different from any other terminal. I get that the way terminals look in fallout is done for stylistic reasons, but the institute having more modern looking shit is kind of their thing.
one thing i didn't get though about them, the outside of the terminals look highly advanced, but the os seem to run on the same versions as every other terminal out in the wastes?? seriously, they're able make actual synths that are on par with humans, but they're still not able to progress interface for their software past past vector based green and black screens? [t]http://cdn.gamer-network.net/2015/usgamer/Fallout-4-override.jpg[/t]
Yeah, it is a funny thing it's not reflected in gameplay. But I suppose there wasn't a lot of reason to change the entire interface of terminals for the location. Although, you can never get to use them when that one optical piece is placed in front of the screen.
I'd argue it's the other way around. Just because we can't reap the advancements of all the technology they use in a gameplay perspective doesn't invalidate that the specified level of their technology is very advanced in comparison to the rest of the known world. Though, I don't disagree that it's kind of irritating to not see everything reflected in gameplay in some manner.
Someone got EDE actually in game, with a custom model and perk. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10965/?

The twist at the end- are you prepared for... MUM

I just want Obsidian to make a Fallout with all the technical stuff and gameplay of 4 Is that so much to ask.
That wasn't Shaun. He was Shaun's son. Everyone at the institute was just fucking with you the whole time.
I'm told that Fallout 4 main plot premise, a parent looking for his/her son, is completely ruined towards the end of the game by [sp]your son, now an adult, not giving even a single fuck about the fact you are his father/mother and your own very character being far, far too accepting of the simple fact he/she missed his/her son whole life[/sp]
Some nice person on Reddit is compiling a lot of neat unmarked locations found in FO4 https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/4dbc71/the_hunt_for_every_unmarked_location_in_fallout_4/
[sp]your son, now an adult, not giving even a single fuck about the fact you are his father/mother and your own very character being far, far too accepting of the simple fact he/she missed his/her son whole life[/sp]
[sp]You basically have no choice but to act SORT of flustered, and then move on. Your son does care, he's just jaded and old, so he's not crazy emotive. But he does care, in his own weird self serving way.[/sp]
[sp]You can choose not to believe he is your son, and outright demand he let you leave. Though that is the same thing as turning against the institute and you can never join them after that.[/sp]
That's really lame.
[sp]doesn't make him any less of your son in the plot though[/sp]
Especially considering I took his beard off and changed his hair with the console [sp] to see just how much like my character he looked. Ironically He looks like a *younger* version of my character without scars, the face shape is almost identical. [/sp]
[sp]His face is made from you and his mothers[/sp] Also how do you change NPC appearance with the console?
[sp] Trust me, there's not a lot of nora in there for me, he's almost an exact remake of my character. Maybe my frequent trips to the plastic surgeon to iron out flaws in my character's face before meeting him had an effect on the balance between nate/nora in him [/sp] It's Showlooksmenu and then the ID of the npc you want to change. [editline]4th April 2016[/editline] A while back people were talking about building eyebots for your settlements, not the modded ones the ones that just go out and scavenge, how does that work?
I just want Obsidian to make a Fallout with all the technical stuff and gameplay of 4 Is that so much to ask.
I'd like to see them go for a full spin off that breaks off the regular continuity and goes for like a really early post-war setting. [sp]Or far-future Arroyo way after the events of Fallout 2 when it's a full blown modern city[/sp]
So I just completed the Mechanist. [t]http://i.imgur.com/J0o8Jao.jpg[/t] Other than all the cool potential robots I must now build, the one thing I'm taking away from this is that robobrains are nightmare fuel. I mean, I'm not going to be able to build robobrains with robobrain bodies. The poor fucks don't deserve that. Assaultron and sentry bodies only for these guys, because they deserve to have some fun. And kill people. They deserve to kill lots and lots of people for what humanity did to them. Well, except Jezebel, because fuck her. There was this one entry on the computer of the scientist that was recording a newly implanted brain demanding to be put back in his body or he'll kill her. The scientist mockingly reminds him that he's just a brain connected to a voice box and he replies that it doesn't matter, he'll find a way. Considering the facility was on the high alert level reserved for a robot rebellion I'd like to think that he succeeded. That dude was badass. Also, a fully upgraded laser minigun cuts through enemy robots like they were wet tissue paper. Wow. Anyway, I found this in that facility where you found Jezebel: [t]http://i.imgur.com/VLM4CIb.jpg?1[/t]
When playing survival, make sure you look where you're going

Or that happens... Level 11, just completed arcjet and leveled up once and a half, and on my way back to cambridge. My last save was in the police HQ, before taking the quest on. That said, I still like the new saving system. (fuck mines)
It's Showlooksmenu and then the ID of the npc you want to change.
The more I think about it, if it wasn't for them [sp] dumping hundreds of mutants topside [/sp] and kidnapping people, why bother [sp] attacking the institute at all? [/sp] they clearly believe the world above is dead and just want to remain isolated from it- why do they keep painting a target on themselves?
Preston even makes this point in the Minutemen ending. He's like "They could've lasted forever down here. Why'd they choose to fuck with us?"
Huh in 1.5, saves that have mods on them are prefixed with [M]

I didn't see anyone mention it, but I believe the X02's first person arm models got fixed.
