Fallout Thread V26: At least it's not a Nuclear Winter

one mod I want made once people get their hands on the geck, is something that will make raiders ask you and random npcs to hand over your money or else. And of course the raiders will take into account what gear you're carrying etc. So if they see you walking up with full T-60 power armour and a gatling laser. They're mooost likely going to avoid you, unless they have equivalent equipment to deal with you.
So say, a caravan with some decent mercs is most likely going to say fuck no and start shooting. But overall I'd much more prefer npcs would stop launching their entire arsenal at anything that moves.
I want a mod that prevents dialogues to trigger when you get too close to someone. This shit is really annoying.
And another mod so NPCs stop talking to me like if I was looking at them when I'm just passing by.
This shit is there since Oblivion. You walk past a guy, mind your won business, not even looking at him and he's all like "yeah ?" "you got a staring problem or something ?"
I have a feeling I'm pretty much screwed with the Automatron DLC in the survival beta. I've destroyed the first Robobrain, but I can only edit Ada's legs at the robot workstation. Ada's the only fucking robot afflicted by this, I can edit others just fine.
Why you do this to me game. Why. :why:
Wait ... Moira Brown from Megaton ... is she the author of a skill book in New Vegas that increases survival?
Wow.
I really hate how the intimidation perks were implemented; I should not have the same chance to pacify a normal Raider as I do to pacify a Raider Veteran in power armor. Similarly, if I'm in full X0-1, carrying a Fatman, with a Sentrybot companion, I should have a significantly higher chance to pacify humans than I would if I'm walking around in my vault suit solo with a pipe pistol. Same goes for animal whisperer and the one that works on Super Mutants, but less so for the creatures I guess. Still, they should in theory be more intimidated by someone in power armor than someone without it, if only for the size difference.
I would also factor in how many friends of theirs you've killed and how much health they have left.
Build able planters, now we can build self sustaining flying cube in the air.
Fallout 4’s second add-on, Wasteland Workshop, will be available worldwide on Tuesday, April 12, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. With Wasteland Workshop, you can design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws. Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more. Watch the official trailer right now!
Expand the capabilities of settlements with Wasteland Workshop, then in May, travel beyond the Commonwealth to Maine for Far Harbor – the largest landmass Bethesda Game Studios has ever created for post-release content.
Stay tuned for more details on even more add-ons to be released in 2016 and on free updates like the Creation Kit, which will allow you to create mods on the PC and then share and play them across all platforms, including consoles.
I love that he was making preston fight the deathclaw.

Sky City here we come!
Looks cool but I can't shake the feeling it'll break all of my settlement mods.
And I have a LOT of settlement mods.
Sounds like youve got shit luck, been playing over 10 hrs on my survival save and the only time grenades get me is when im acting like an idiot and dont run the insrant i see the marker
With laser-guided precision, molotovs and long-range grenades are delivered to my feet with a mortality rate of around 80%.

Not really Bethesda's fault if it breaks mods though, early modding, especially during the time in which the modding tools aren't released is always a dangerous business in this regard.

No it's not their fault, I didn't say it was. But that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
And still no date for the GECK...
I hope it adds some general improvements to settlements at least
For as fun as it is to build cool shit it's all very inconsequential and your settlers just wander around aimlessy and sometimes get stuck into furniture

I thought they said it was coming out between DLCs, they must have meant Far Harbor and Wasteland Workshop instead of WW and Automatron like I assumed.
Beta selections should be coming later today if they do the same thing they did was with the last DLC

Cloud* City you mean :v: ?
I hope we get Homemaker levels of content.

Well Settlement mods usually show up with that + sign in the workshop menu. Unless they radically change the system I doubt it would really disturb anything.

"It's kinda safe"
*hits head on ceiling fan*
It'd be neat to find a powered down armor like that and you open it expecting it to just be empty and a body flops out instead.
Im surprised they didn't do this at least once, like having a skeleton in army fatigues rattle out backwards making your character stumble back on the roof when you first meet Preston.

I'd expect that any mods that add new items to existing categories will largely work fine, but mods that add new categories might cause the game to hit the keyword cap much faster than before, seeing as Bethesda has added quite a few new categories themselves. Unless Bethesda have done a proper fix for the keyword cap because of all the new categories.
I haven't got all of the settlement items yet, so this might not be entirely accurate, but just in the trailer I've seen that there's a new Concrete structures category, with floors, walls, ceilings and stairs categories, there's some sort of new lights section (potentially for powered signs? Hard to say, it just has the neon open sign as the icon for it), and there's a new Cages section, with Large and Small cages and a miscellaneous section. That's quite a lot of new categories, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's more they didn't show off.

Because there is a holotape log near it stating it's previous occupant left on foot towards Boston, specifically Bolyston St.
I can't wait to do a whole new playthrough with Wasteland Workshop installed. Settlements are gonna be so much better.
I wonder if cats will do more with this DLC.

Yeah I know I found that, obviously that wouldn't be there if they put a skeleman in the suit.
I bet Bethesda's marketing did that on purpose.
Listening to the music in FO4, no wonder there are so many depressed people so many songs are about nukes or mentioning atoms.
