I am arguing why the bethesda idea makes sense
Any idea can make sense if you spend enough time thinking about it. My point being, there is not enough evidence already there for me to seriously believe such an idea. Seriously being the key word, I'll gladly listen to any argument about it for the sake of having an open mind about such things, but as it stands there's simply too much left to the imagination. As far as I'm aware, the only quantifiable piece of information is a single plant that looks similar, every single thing past that is purely based of how far your imagination is willing to go, and that much information being based of basically nothing, just won't do for a reasonably plausible idea.
Before the creation of the universe, there was just possibility, and unformed spirits floating around in it. Lorkhan learned of Love in the cosmological sense, of the Amaranth by which a new world could be created, and possibly of how the current Amaranth was formed through violence rather than Love, but also that it could not be done from an immortal's point of view, and so tricked the other spirits into giving themselves up to make a mortal world. Then Convention happened, settling most of the possibility into certainty; at the end of every kalpa, the universe resets to Convention and runs through it again.
Before that, we know some vagueness about the Godhead who became the current Amaranth after the death of his lover Nir, blaming his rival and descending into dreams, though we don't 100% know how literal that is or what the previous Amaranth was like.
Before the creation of the world as we know it now, there was just possibility, and our disembodied thoughts floating around in the form of a cloud of nanobots (or energy, or hologram projected from the moon, whatever - high tech shit). L2456 remembered life, and the love of it. He realized that the life he now had was formed through violence rather than Love, but also that it could not be done from an immortal's point of view, and so tricked the other disembodied minds into giving themselves up to make a mortal world. Then the conversion happened, settling our free and unrestrained spirits into a certainty of our fate - into a life as the Aedra. At the end of every cycle the world changes, and runs through a conversion again. Old life is given way to new life, and old life is forgotten - old ways are forgotten. (Alluding to the forgetting of old civilizations and the replacing of reffering words with others)
Before that, we know some vagueness about the state of affairs that became the disembodied life they live, though it was something about people DESCENDING INTO DREAMS. (People going all cyber)
I want to make an army of Curies.

I am arguing why the bethesda idea makes sense, I will leave the minutia of dota 2 and halflife comparison to someone else. One major argument I might press is that they are fundamentally different games where as "Fallout is skyrim is fallout with swords."
It does not make sense unless you force things to fit together through guesses, speculation and by making up whatever you like without evidence, though.
There is perhaps one thing to suggest a link to between them. It's a series with 4 main games yet the only 'proof' of this theory is a small Easter egg in the latest one. There is absolutely no reason to believe it over any other random theory you can make up for the series.

I hope you can choose a Ms. Nanny voice for your robots so I can [sp]actually have a cool french robot that doesn't become a boring person[/sp]
I really wish they would release survival mode on March 22nd too, or soon. I don't want to start up a new character and get involved before that update, which will hopefully be a breath of fresh air.
This TES theory is complete shit. Can we talk about robot wars instead?

make robot love, not robot war.
[sp]I wonder how many new weapons are being included in the new DLC[/sp]

From the trailer and screenshots I see a circular saw-axe thing, the lightning gun and an assaultron style blaster which looks like it is literally one of their heads hooked up to a trigger mechanism.

They very likely will, probably just haven't confirmed it so people don't get their hopes up. It would make sense to release it at the same time, to get people who wouldn't otherwise be interested in Automatron to come back to FO4, and to put it in with the same update that'll probably come out to get the game DLC-ready.
I saw an auto-axe in the trailer, And that's fucking excellent.

There was also something similar to the gauss rifle (a railgun, maybe?).
The axe-saw-thing doesn't look like the auto-axe, more like some kind of saw-staff. I could've sworn there was something similar to it in the same bit of concept art for FO3 that the eyebot helmet came from.
edit: nevermind, was misremembering
still a cool concept though

It is, like how do you even expain the Aedra and Daedra, who aren't just representations, but ACTUAL beings.
...Although at least bumping into Sheogorath would be kickass.

I think that's the lightning gun.
It looks like there's a sword melee weapon as well, that only gets a few frames of visibility:

It'll be interesting to see how many armour pieces there are, though. I know there's Eyebot and Assaultron helmets, and I think there might be at least two sets of body armour (though they could be the same set just as different sizes), plus there's this helmet that I don't recognise:

can't believe i'm saying this but bring back ganerumo and real rudy
They're gone?
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24970273/ShareX/AutomatronHelmet.png[/t]
The back end looks like the Gauss Rifle.
Say, how exactly did Fallout 4 change the skills and perks system?
I'm definitely going to buy the fourth game now, but I'm curious because the whole system is one of the most entertaining shit I've ever had to use in a roleplaying videogame
That's a sentry bot head as a helmet

The bottom guy is wearing a security bot head cage as a helmet.
Ive decided im definitely giving my robot power loader claws if possible.
That's a sentry bot head as a helmet
Ah, that makes sense. I never really get close enough to them to remember how their heads look.
I wonder if we'll get heads from the other robots too. Protectrons shouldn't be too hard to turn into helmets, but I wonder how they'd do Robobrain helmets and Mister Handy/Gutsy helmets.

No more skills, perks every level. Perks are now a mixture of unique abilities and do % more damage/save x amount of energy boreperks that vaguely parallel with the skills from previous games. You end up having to mostly go with the boring ones or the enemies leave you behind as they level.
[editline]nigger lips[/editline]
also the requisite amount of worthless trash that fill the gaps

they took out skills and replaced them with percentile stat increase perks like 20% more pistol damage or 20% better stimpaks, you now get a perk every level, all perks have multiple levels, and weapon perks are divided solely by grip (big gun/rifle/pistol) and firing mechanism (automatic/semi-automatic) instead of by projectile since skills were removed
i think it's a terribly lazy way to handle skills and perks but i guess that's up to you
Why even call the perks perks if most of them are just glorified skills with ranks?
What even is Bethesda smoking??

I like some of them, since they give you unique bonuses at certain ranks, but a lot of them are pretty boring, yes.
and I wonder, are you going to be able to get more than 1 robot? it would be nice to have one patrolling the different settlements and such.
It makes sense for stuff like lockpicking were there was no difference between having like 75 lock picking or 81 so they just consolidated it to the milestones that mattered.

Look, I know I'm joking, but something tells me this is gonna be a real video. Yo MatPat, you're gonna have to pay me royalties, now.

so people really liked those perks in the last few games that actually did cool things and changed the gameplay in cool ways when you took them
how do we make it so we only have to do a couple of those
it's not really a secret if it's literally on his forehead tho
