How come Bethesda and Obsidian can't cooperate on a game? The gameplay of FO4 with the world of 3 and the story of New Vegas is like a wet dream too me...
A lot of people seem to think there's some animosity between the studios based on Obsidian getting screwed out of their bonus and the fact that bethesda hasn't acknowledged fallout new vegas at all, both in game and in real life.
Personally I think that's bullshit, in the long run companies care about profits over everything else, Bethesda made shit loads of money from new vegas, and despite the bullshit with their bonus Obsidian did too. IMO there's absolutely nothing standing in the way of a future collaboration between them, Bethesda isn't going to get upset about the possibility that obsidians game could be better than fallout 4: because they will reap any benefits of the game being good. Obsidian isn't going to throw away all the money developing a new fallout would net them by holding a grudge over the lost bonus, they will probably just make sure their contract doesn't involve anything dumb like fucking meta-critic scores this time around.
I don't think another west coast fallout game from obsidian is such an unrealistic thing to expect to see some day. Especially considering the devs will have noticed that "woah imagine a game more like new vegas with these visuals/gameplay mechanics" is a very common sentiment among fallout fans.

My first character was an all-rounder. My second was a melee tank build. It only makes sense that I attempt survival mode with a stealth/sniper build. Any SPECIAL suggestions?

Fridgemupets has a great sniper built, it lacks some survivability, but the focus on stealth and vats makes it very good at sniping. The issue with sniping in fallout 4 though is the weapons themselves don't scale well and there are a lot of places where the enemy just already knows you're there, its probably way easier to do a stealth-pistol build
Don't bother with endurance, you get killed in one or two hits regardless. 6 perception, 9 agility and 9 luck. Get all of the luck perks related to banking crits, I don't think the ricochet perk is worth it since virtually everything will 1 hit kill you anyway, so the chances of it triggering are minimal.
God damn it. So I don't know what the fuck happened to my game, but I just wasted 2 and half hours building a settlement at Jamaica Plain that I can't actually do anything with.
I used TGM so I could build free of resources. But apparently using TGM also lets you build in a spot even if you haven't unlocked it yet and I thought I cleared out the whole town. So I spent hours building and then when I went to send settlers to it, it's not on the list. So I build a beacon and settlers arrived, but I can't trade with them or anything. On my map the little settlement UI that shows how many settlers are there and their happiness isn't there. For all intents and purposes, I built a settlement but it's not actually mine. The workshop tells me I am not allied with the settlement, so I turned TGM off and cleared the rest of the gouls out, no fix. I forced it to be mine with the console and that didn't fix it either.

What a great fuckin game. That's Roger Warwick I'm supposed to be talkin to, I showed up at his homestead and he's taking a family fuckin bath in the flooded vats outside his house. And since Bethesda was so wise to take out not only the console but also fast travel in survival, I guess I'll just have to come back in a day or two.
edit: They all drowned while I was waiting for a Vertibird. Apparently they're all essential though so they're just sitting at the bottom of their little pool.

Can confirm this
I have close to 30 robots all set up at scavenging stations in one of my settlements, they all sit really nice and neatly at the stations and remain completely still EXCEPT anything with the robobrain treads. Those robots will grow and shrink at random intervals and also constantly try to drive up on top of other robots, general disrupting the balance. For that reason I no longer have any robots with those treads, even though they look cool...
just use the tripod if you still want it on wheels
One thing I miss about VATS/Dialogue screens was being frozen time pieces.
In a way that stopped Bethesdas buggy mess when NPC's disrupt you in dialogue trees, and time-locked VATS allowed me some breathing room to think.

I like the new VATS better because it feels a lot less like "Hold on, let me switch to godmode and kill the entire room with this fork." and a lot more like quickly making tactical decisions. Helps that headshots can actually miss now, too.
Also I just find the unfrozen dialogue cooler, even if it has potential to bug out. Being able to have conversations with multiple NPCs is a nice bonus.

I always thought itd be neat if you could get a perk that further slows down VATS time, until eventually it pauses time completely like in 3 and NV.

Oh my god, this just makes me want fucking Quadrupeds and Spider Legs and shit.
Like having legs based on Mirelurks.

Yeah, the way that the new dialogue system functions in regards to NPCs is a lot better than in previous games. The only problem I've really encountered with it is NPCs wandering off mid sentence, but that could probably be solved in time for the next Bethesda game (if it doesn't get fixed before they finish all patches for Fallout 4).
It would seem there is a WIP mod for adding nuka cola themed stuff, like that one un-used piece of concept art for the Nuka Blaster:

no release yet, just teaser images by the person making it.

Some of the lighting in this game can actually look nice.

Of course, as soon as they DO release it, a Bethesda version will be added in as DLC anyway.

How the hell can anyone play the game when a good 55% of the screen or MORE is covered in just STUFF? Look at all of this info! It's such a clusterfuck!
I was minding my own business in Fallout 3 when, upon exiting a metro station, I was ambushed by three Talon mercenaries
What followed where me going back in the metro, waiting for my status to become hidden, go out, one-shooting one mercenary with a sneak attack, go back in the metro station, rinse and repeat
Also, now that I'm playing the third game, I see where the story of Fallout 4 comes from (I had a contact with a member of the Railroad and helped keeping an android hidden)
Damn dude holy shit. My inspiration meter is off the charts.
it's a shame Spectacle Island wont get any use in survival, fun spot to build
Still no GECK

I've had this happen so many times, with them then acting like I was the one to fuck off, and would then not speak to me afterwards. Had to load previous saves several times. Li seems to be the biggest offender for me.
I'm beginning to think that Bethesda might have meant the GECK would come out between the first two iterations of DLC, not the first two actual DLC.

"Our goal is between the first two DLCs. It'll go up at that time on PC. In April. All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it. There'll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work"

I don't think they're considering wasteland workshop to be a huge dlc, more of a "hey we made this" thing, like hearthfire for skyrim.
Some nice dude on reddit made map of beds
