I was able to get a full team in a party yesterday though.
I think the combination of how high the standard jump is, super jumping (roll and jump at the end of the roll) and jump boots all make rocket jump kind of pointless. Exactly how much higher do you want to go?
Also if you jump at an incline (like you're going off a ramp) you go higher, too.
After trying out the majority of other weapon types, I think I'm definitely going to stick with my beams.
I win every single 1v1 (all of them. no exceptions.) and a pretty large majority of 2v1's, and if I catch someone off guard they're missing half their health bar before they have a chance to react. This game is so much fun.
I like my high-cap spooling rifle because it's a nice balance but I'm starting to think that edging to either side (beam or pulse) might be more beneficial...
playing as a beam healer in this game is not only extremely fun,
but pisses off the other team so much when you just sit there constantly playing defence overhealing your teammates

someone called me an aimbot medic i don't even know

pls no
healers are so annoying
Is it just me, or does the "Exhaust port" stock for launchers look like a placeholder model?

Honestly, I think beams are OP. Highest sustained damage in the game, and it can be applied from across the map at pinpoint accuracy.
Needs some spread to to counter the damage, or damage falloff at range to counter the accuracy.

During the beta, I used to use heal rockets with flak. It wasn't as effective as other heals, but it was still annoying as all hell.
Agreed. Beams provide too much damage and have too much accuracy. Whenever I'm fighting against one it just feels like this inevitable defeat is coming and nothing I do will stop it because I can't get away from them because they're so accurate. The only way to beat a beam user is to somehow kill them extremely quickly.

fight beams with beams!!!
fight beams with beams!!!
The absolute last thing this game needs is for one weapon type to render experimentation irrelevant. That defeats the whole point of the game.
To be honest, I feel beams are too strong and shotguns are weak as hell. I mean you have to be right next to them and hit them with every pellet in order to deal some damage.

that sounds fucking amazing for blitz
since I don't have any more loadouts I decided to give my current one some dumb ironic names related to a dumb ironic webcomic

I tried that on literally my first heal gun, it's neat for group healing but does so little "damage" per rocket it's not worth it.
Heal beam is the best health delivery device by far (because beams are OP :v:).
I wouldn't necessarily agree that shotguns are useless. Rifle shotguns definitely are (dat spread/damage falloff), but pulse shotguns actually work quite well, since they have tighter spread and significantly less falloff.
What do you guys think, is a heal beam or a buff beam better? And are there any more useful tips like the whole high jump thing? Like things we can do that aren't necessarily obvious.
Also, I'm not entirely sure, but last night I was playing and someone launched a fireball at me and I actually shot it out of midair on accident. I'm not sure if it was that or if it hit a wall or something, though. Anyone know if that's a thing, shooting stuff out of midair?
I kinda feel like the added girl character kinda kills the Rambo v.s. Mr. T vibe they had going.
Also, what happened to all my space bux? I had like 35,000 in beta

heals are stupidly strong, idk about buff ones though

they're just generic action heroes, and besides, only their base cosmetics look like rambo and mr t. i don't think they were aiming for that "vibe" at all
Oh my god, tri barrel is fucking beast mode
Well, by testing buffs in the test range, it seems that juice increases damage by 20%.
Normal melee does 40 damage.
Juiced melee does 48 damage.
I have yet to see anyone use it in any multiplayer game though, maybe tomorrow I will give it a go...
However, can't really see doing it worth it, as most players just simply suck... going 0,8 K/D 24/7 leaving me alone doing all the killing. It's sad that I can somehow get 3,0 K/D in most FPS yet I love playing supports...gahhhh
holy shit beam weapons destroy rockets
beam so op
Buff is neat but I find healing (more specifically, overhealing) more useful.
Also, I'm not entirely sure, but last night I was playing and someone launched a fireball at me and I actually shot it out of midair on accident. You destroyed a rocket in midair. If you shoot an enemy rocket in midair you will break it and it won't explode. You'll also get [Broken Arrow +5exp] on screen for each rocket destroyed.
[editline]4th February 2014[/editline]
All weapons can destroy rockets. Beams are great at it tho.
[editline]4th February 2014[/editline]
But if you stop a rocket with a rocket your e-peen expands.
can you play with bots or is it purely multiplayer
can you play with bots or is it purely multiplayer
there's a lobby type where it's you+people VS bots
Intentionally shooting rockets with remote controlled rockets is fun.
I've been experimenting with cluster mines; in theory they should be able to kill entire groups of enemies in one hit, if the placement/timing is right. In practice though I end up spending so much time setting up that I either die in the process or could at least be doing something more useful :(
Maybe when I unlock proximity mines they'll be more viable.
What the heck are "pulses" meant to be?
I saw a guy using super slow/heavy remote-controlled rockets, easy to see coming but very nimble and did 5/6ths of your health.
You're a sitting duck while you pilot the rocket though, which was good to news to me and my charged beam sniper.
It seems, though, that the movement system in this game discriminates against single-shot, high damage, low rate of fire guns (since it's so easy to miss) in favor of spammy weapons that can more easily hit someone who is constantly jumping.
[editline]3rd February 2014[/editline]
It is very satisfying to one-hit pop someone who is moving like that, though. Doubly so if they're the hammer carrier, triply if they're trying to hit you with said hammer.
The big thing I noticed during my time playing the game is that there's a very "flavour of the month" type of thing going on with balance. Used to be scatter barrel, then it was tesla pulse, now it's slug beams.
