Maybe it's just console for some reason? I guess we wait to hear back from them.
They're going to keep adding features into WMD with the fans' guidance.
Meanwhile, the stock hats & soundbanks are nice too.
I Hope So. I love making soundbanks for Reloaded and I would love if the game Had the ability to make custom hats.
So I picked it up and played a few rounds against AI. Not sure how I feel about vehicles. The crafting is neat.
Approximately none of my friends so far have bought it because $30 is too much so if anyone's up for a game hit me up on Steam :v:
Can you play custom levels (The ones with the png import) with friends in multiplayer/private lobby?
I want to know before I buy cause $30 is quite hefty for me and my pal.
i pre-ordered worms reloaded back in the day and got disappointed, is this one worth it?
I'm up for games and shit. Got a pretty good custom scheme created, focus on crafting.

Previous Worms sequels have been somewhat disappointing.
This one's loved by the fans so far, since the team really listened and made the game much like the classic Armaggedon, but with a bunch of new features as well. Custom maps are a big deal for the community, and the team intends to keep adding features & support.
Whether it's worth the price is up to you; you can look at the reviews and videos, officials streams are nice too.
Loving this game. I felt that the new features would be gimmicky but they work really well and the fact that it's so easy to deactivate them really makes the game great.

As somebody who grew up playing Worms since the age of 4, while I didn't HATE Worms Revolution, I'm more than happy to see the stupid class system gone. Because of random placement (because picking spawns is terrible), the worm that specialized was never actually used for his specialty. Not that anybody ever used anything other than a team of scientists in the first place for their every-turn healing that left them nearly invulnerable. It just didn't work.
This game, though. Buildings seemed strange at first but they make a great addition to the sneaky shit you can pull and they are very easy to understand. It does throw me off when you discover at the end of a match that there's still 3 enemy worms hiding out in a building across the map. Just wish you could see the floor when you're on the roof. Fallen through holes I can't see too many times already and lost a few turns to fall damage because of it.
Vehicles are okay, they seem nicely balanced, although while jumping tanks is a little ridiculous, considering the nature of the terrain, I can see the necessity for it. I love the mounted guns :v:
And crafting is great fun. Nothing like surprising those worms camped out in a castle with an airstrike of MINES.
Also what are the pre-order weapons?
I think I would cautiously say this is the best Worms game since Armageddon. I didn't like that Reloaded limited you to 4 worms per team and felt otherwise watered-down. Probably the coolest thing it added was vertically-oriented maps. Then there was Revolution with the questionable water and object physics, plus the misguided class system. I skipped Clan Wars altogether because it looked like more of the same, and I kinda forgot it existed for a long time.
But I actually like the new features of WMD. The structures work well, kind of reminiscent of fort mode from one of the old games (was it World Party only?) and while crafting is kind of overwhelming at first, I bet it'll add a ton of replayability once I get oriented to all the new items. Vehicles and mounted guns are ok, they don't blow me away but I'm not disgusted by their existence either.
I never managed to get the hang of Armageddon's rope mechanics, so that's not something I terribly miss.
So far the only thing I think is really scummy is the pre-order exclusive shit. Even if it's released later as DLC, it feels like they REMOVED things from the game to milk them for DLC, not like they created a full game first and then ADDED more as DLC. And when the game is already $30, it feels really exploitative.
It would be nice if the classic weapons could be given for free to players who already own a Worms game on Steam. Granted, most of the old Armageddon players probably don't have a Steam copy of the game, but it would at least show a LITTLE good faith on their part.
I should've made this thread before launch.
Four of the pre-order weapons are Team17's own brands, and another three are almost just reskins. It would be fair enough imo, if you'd get the weapons for owning the games. I hope they figure something out (they say they've tried, but have contracts to obey?)
Again tho', at least you still get to use them, and nobody gets an advantage.

Why do people keep saying that Armageddon's rope is gone when it came back?

Why do people keep saying that Armageddon's rope is gone when it came back?
Because they never bother with crafting
Or just making a scheme with it on by default
I don't think you're able make a scheme with craftables equipped yet, although you will in a future update.
Point is being able to extend the rope upwards.
i made a scheme with infinite ropes and i just craft them on the first turn. if you're not starting the game you can even do it on someone else's turn and have it on your first play anyway. it just takes a bit more of effort
I honestly don't get what the difference between the current rope and the Armageddon rope. I never was anything short of trash with the ropes anyway, and I probably haven't played Armageddon in ~12 years too so

The terrain in this game is beautiful by the way. I hated how Revolution worked with the 2.5D shit. I love how sensical the themes can make the weirdest generated maps look.
I miss the hell theme from Armageddon though
Again tho', at least you still get to use them, and nobody gets an advantage.
Yeah, but that's content I'll never get to use because I only plan on playing with friends and none of us preordered.
I asked them if they'd consider releasing it as DLC later on down the road because beyond those weapons, I really want shit like PAYDAY masks and all the other hats. Pretty much all of them are from games I play.
Love the game but i dislike how in ranked matches you have to place your own worms.
I'm fairly sure that way more people would hate if you got forced random positions in competitive matches and making the game even more reliant on luck than skill, but hey. If it's not your cup of tea, you can always turn it off and play random positions against unranked people
Yeah, but that's content I'll never get to use because I only plan on playing with friends and none of us preordered.

None of the preordered stuff from Reloaded had to do with other games and timed licensing from them, thought, did they? I honestly never touched Reloaded so i can't say for sure but judging by the pics from your link it's a very different situation
Well, didn't want to buy the game before the release date because I didn't believe Team17 wouldn't screw it up. I've pre-ordered Revolution in the past and we all know how that turned out. Getting Armageddon for it was totally worth it though.
Now I don't want to buy the game because it feels like it wouldn't be the entire package without the weapons, hats and missions.
What a situation. And why are the TF2 hats a pre-order bonus now? It wasn't like that in Reloaded.
This game looks cool, but: is there any real reason to get it if I already have Armageddon and am quite content with playing that with friends? Everything I read about this game seems to see that it's the best Worms since Armageddon, but... usually that just means "it's Armageddon except a few minor changes".
Is there anything that makes it worth the 30 bucks?
vehicles
buildings
ranked mode
better matchmaking?
dunno. if you have a group of friends playing armageddon already and none of them are going to move to WMD i don't see any point. if you want to try new things with new people i don't see why not though, unlike other recent worms games this one is actually playable
Official accounts and memes are a match made in heaven.
The All-Stars Pack is now available for free on all platforms.

imagine feeling superior over people because of preorder bonuses lmao
Reminds me of this guy who gave Dota 2 a 0/10 on Metacritic because he bought ingame items for 100 dollar worth and realized afterwards that it's cosmetic only and doesn't give any dmg bonuses and such.

What I don't get is that other people having the pre-order bonuses literally opens it up for all other players in the game to use them and that's it, these people are actually straight up MAD about someone else having the same things as them
