I think there is still plenty of potential in 3D.

I noticed that using the blimp view to pan around the landscape is quite satisfying.
If they ditched the first-person/third-person perspectives entirely in favor of an aerial gameplay view, the possibilities could be endless.

I think having it like an RTS would work very well, I wasn't a fan of the third-person stuff though
