Because retailers are assholes. Didn't Game threaten to boycott a publisher because they wanted to release something earlier online?
That and retailers have laws and regulations to follow. Because that's the publisher's fault too!
It seems like it's just multiplying the download speed, I hear we're only downloading 25gb of data.
I just finished downloading and the folder sure is 50gb.
I just finished downloading and the folder sure is 50gb.
Spooky, EA is using some sort of black magic then.
What the fuck is wrong with origins download speeds? It shows way to fast(?) I mean I usually download between 10-15MB/s when I download torrents or on Steam.
That's the speed at which it's unpacking/moving/installing the data.
That's the speed at which it's unpacking/moving/installing the data.
I kept having that speed form start to finish? so you're saying I already had the files on the computer when I started the preload? Thought it unpacked when it said "Installing" and that don't show any speed numbers.
I kept having that speed form start to finish? so you're saying I already had the files on the computer when pressing "preload"? Thought it unpacked when it said "Installing" and that don't show any speed numbers.
The download is only ~26GB and it decompresses to ~50GB. Either way, it's a stupidly misleading downloader/installer and I wish they would fix it.
The download is only ~26GB and it decompresses to ~50GB. Either way, it's a stupidly misleading downloader/installer and I wish they would fix it.
But still.. then the first 20gb or so should have downloaded at normal speed which it didn't? Anyhow, thanks for clearing that part up I guess! :v:
When I started my preload, it didn't prompt me for a language selection, did anyone get it? I was retarded and got too excited and just hammered away to the start preload button without looking anywhere else and now my memory of that moment is just blurred for me, I just want to make sure if they do ask you since I already downloaded the whole damn thing and don't want to have the wrong language when the game is finally launched.
Yeah I got that language selection window. It defaults to American English, well it always did that for me at least, both on BF4 and Titanfall.
Well shit, a friend of mine who also attained his copy from Mexico Origin didn't even prompt him for a language selection but just asked if wanted to make some shortcuts, here's to me hoping it auto detects my locale settings and installs appropriately.
50GB? Did they accidentally pack in their collective 1080p porn stash?
50GB? Did they accidentally pack in their collective 1080p porn stash?
The download is 50 gigs but how much is the content on disc?
Well shit, a friend of mine who also attained his copy from Mexico Origin didn't even prompt him for a language selection but just asked if wanted to make some shortcuts, here's to me hoping it auto detects my locale settings and installs appropriately.
¡ Pilota, tu titano va a ser pronto in veinte segundos !
Let's hope it won't charge me 600 usd. :v: Not buying it yet though, waiting for reviews. Do you still choose your own country on checkout when it asks for residence or? Figured it might fuck up if it cross references with the Paypal account info.
It will charge you 45 USD. Just did it myself.
So you guys doing the Mexican VPN thing, does it download fine for you and is it also possible to unlock it on the US release date like many did with Battlefield and whatnot?
Download is the same as downloading any other game and I believe the release date/preload date is tied to where you are located.
50GB? Did they accidentally pack in their collective 1080p porn stash?
the person in charge of compressing stuff probably got wasted and put two copies of the game in a zipfile for the release just to see if anyone would notice
Well shit, a friend of mine who also attained his copy from Mexico Origin didn't even prompt him for a language selection but just asked if wanted to make some shortcuts, here's to me hoping it auto detects my locale settings and installs appropriately.
So. I have my Origin set to English language. My copy of Titanfall Deluxe was bought through Mexican VPN. Preloading was through Korean VPN, also before actual preloading started I was asked to select language for the game. My OS (Windows 8.1) is in English language, however it uses Polish locale, format types and home location is also set to Poland, so do keyboard layout is set to Polish (Programmers). Default language selection during preloading was at "English (US)". This means, you don't have to worry anymore, I'm more than sure if you skipped that part, it will be in English. Unless you bought it from somewhere else than Origin... I've heard that Russian versions had only Russian and something else selectable.
So you guys doing the Mexican VPN thing, does it download fine for you and is it also possible to unlock it on the US release date like many did with Battlefield and whatnot?
Yeah, It say it will release March 11th (05:00 in Sweden) for me. All you got to do is log in with VPN on then turn it off. It worked in battlefield so I don't see why it wouldn't work now.

Probably dumb. I'm in Sweden too so good to see that it does work at least.
50GB? Did they accidentally pack in their collective 1080p porn stash?
They did tone down the actual texture resolution for the Beta. Additionally there are around 14 maps with full resolution, so yeah it was bound to be big, but I guess no one expected it to be this big.
Beta texture resolution was full resolution.

(You need a desktop VPN client you can't use the Hola! chrome extension, Spotflux or FlyVPN should do it.)
Beta texture resolution was full resolution.
No, low-medium textures we're in the beta

[editline]7th March 2014[/editline]
No, low-medium textures we're in the beta
They were pretty clear about the game being at full resolution in the beta. Plenty of news sites mentioning it too. The alpha was downscaled.

I was stuck in medium.
I hope the Beta textures weren't at full res, the interior of the Titans looked really pukey.

So, the preload is SUPPOSED to be 50GB?
