Are there any Titanfall competitions going on? I'm genuinely interested in playing Titanfall competitively.

that's true but it doesn't warrant the absurd file size
the difference in loading times is hilariously minimal and more likely than not it's probably because they see disk space as a cheap resource compared to CPU cycles (which is ~sort of~ true) and just went along with it
I could write an essay of why this is stupid but whatever, I am having fun playing the game and I'll just have to shut out the sound of my SSD crying in agony

I'm not educated on the topic, but doesn't it cause another issue which is fairly common? the audio files get so absurdly big that the HDD becomes a bottleneck since it can't load the massive files fast enough on the fly, so it causes stuttering. the CPU may be spared, but what about the HDD speeds? putting a 50GB game on an SSD is kind of out of question for most people

This is actually a problem I have and why I wish they would give us the option for compressed audio. I have to make sure that my hard drive isn't doing anything intensive when I play Titanfall because otherwise I end up with screwed up sound because I just can't load the stupid huge sound files fast enough.

There was a $1000 competition last week . Just check around the subreddit.
Update soon (meaning free). They're adding an in-game currency (they promised no micro-transactions calm down) that you can use to buy burn card packs and Titan insignias. Also discarding burn cards has been replaced with selling them.
The new DLC maps are super nice, too. And the DLC will release on July 31st.
Oh also gen 1 pilots will have chips/badges next to their names.
I hope they'll address some of the issues with how the game flows. I'm not sure what it is, but it feels like the game stutters even though my FPS is always at 60FPS. it's as if I'm playing <30FPS at times, which makes the game a lot more dull to play

They said performance fixes were included in the update, specifically dealing with stuttering and screen tearing (also dual GPU stuff).

...you know you don't choose which server you go in to right? You go in blind. Plus I was playing against a Gen 5 and a Gen 7 along with the Gen 1s.
Plus there are private matches if you really want to fuck around

I find it incredibly annoying - always die from it when I'm pilot and it chews shields

The shotgun is pretty bad now, at least it has a new learning curve other than point and click.

Before that I did a LTS match where I had 2 rodeo kills and 13 Arc assists
I'd say arc is probably the best or second best titan weapon behind the 40mm. It's just so damn effective.

Yes. It's getting out of hand too, and the drawbacks to the weapon aren't really an issue on the PC. I worked out that probably half my deaths come from that damn thing, and I am not exaggerating
Use the double agent burn card whenever there's a smart pistol guy kicking your ass
Does that work? I thought it was for NPCs
