It's too slow for me, and if you see an enemy pilot and try and duel them then the bullets are like mosquitoes without a charge up. I've been using the shotgun to great success. Popping grunts with the smart pistol is probably the most fun thing ever though. And the sniper is crap. The players are just too mobile. And it feels too jumpy.
Smart pistol seems to be only decent against players when you unlock enhanced targeting. Just stock Smart pistol is really bad if they see you at all.
Me and SEKCobra are about to play. Anyone wanna join us?
I'm very interested in joining aswell. My username on Origin is the same as here.
God dammit, now I can't even start a game before my game closes on its own.
i hate how there's other weapons and titans but you can only get them with burncards
why does the mouse movement stutter around for me? i'm playing the game on all high settings and insane texture or whatever but when I look around it feels horrible
Same here. Hopefully it is just a beta thing, because it is really distracting to me. Fun game though.
Smart Pistol either needs a longer lock-on time for players, more lock ons required, or to just...go away :v:
Anyone know what ports Titanfall might require? I have a sneaking suspicion that it's what's causing my problems.
The more I hear about this smart pistol, the more it scares me. I have no idea as I don't have the game, but from what I heard it takes 3 seconds to lock-on to a pilot, and kills him in 2 shots? Doesn't that mean the whole process takes 6 seconds?

Considering how people can easily tell an npc from a player by watching his movement speed how would this be any useful?
I have no problem with the smart pistol, the lock-on time takes ages and the only time you can really get pilot kills with it is if you are either doing some crazy parkour shit while on approach or if the target is not paying attention to you.
Considering how people can easily tell an npc from a player by watching his movement speed how would this be any useful?
As long as you act like a spectre you'd be a spectre. Spectres have as much health as a pilot though, so I doubt it'd bet too useful. What you could do though is hack a ton of enemy spectres and just be a giant whirling mass of Aaron Beck. I once took out a group of four pilots with that one.
Considering how people can easily tell an npc from a player by watching his movement speed how would this be any useful?
So you can listen to your footsteps and feel good about it.

Didn't know you could punch people off friendly titan's backs. So this guy in his titan ran up to me with an enemy on his back, and I was out of ammo so I tried punching it... and I got like 4 different score notifications, it was pretty cool
If only hacking them would be worth the time.
If you hack them right after entry you'll hack the whole pod's worth of spectres.
Anyone want to play right now? I'm FlandersNed on Origin. EDIT: You guys need to send friend invites again if you sent them; I just deleted 280+ friend requests (I'm not sure why I have so many) and I couldn't distinguish who was who.
I can't play this because it locks my computer up during the load screen and just doesn't respond, meaning I have to do a cold restart to fix it. I've tried repairing and re-downloading, but nothing..

For some reason I just love to run around and watch the AI interact with one another. Spectres choking people to death, teammates dragging their wounded buddies out of the line of fire, and holy shit those melee fights. I watched an IMC trooper take on two Militia men and he fucked them up, including picking one up in a fireman's carry position and slamming him onto the ground. Then he proceed to force the other one against a wall and executed him. While I may not care for the amount of AI, damn did they flesh them out and give them life during the matches.
If anyone is getting that stuttering problem when moving their mouse, you just have to disable vsync. It seemed pretty broken for me anyway, when I had it on double buffered I was getting screen tearing, but when I turned it off everything was perfect... I like that they made it seem like the grunts were already fighting in the area before the pilots got there. At the start of a round, I ran into the closest hardpoint, there was a friendly grunt fighting an enemy grunt, I killed the enemy grunt and the friendly dude was like "about time you heroes showed up".
I was wondering if the game was really built with source engine, after playing the game, I KNOW FOR SURE :v:
i hate how there's other weapons and titans but you can only get them with burncards
The LMG will probably be a normal gun you can start with in the full game but that sniper rifle with explosive rounds sounds like something that will stick to burn cards
And the sniper is crap. The players are just too mobile. And it feels too jumpy.
I haven't tried it much before I prefer playing mobile myself, but I think it might be good at shooting up Titan weakpoints.
The more I hear about this smart pistol, the more it scares me. At medium distances it could probably work tho if you can dodge returning fire for a few moments (or catch someone off-guard, but you can kill those with whatever method anyway). I think they're best when you're wallrunning or something and aiming's really difficult, but I haven't gotten many opportunities of that sort yet.
If you hack them right after entry you'll hack the whole pod's worth of spectres.
I just don't see the point in hacking spectres at all. Aren't they just late game cannon fodder that give you more points per kill than grunts?
I just don't see the point in hacking spectres at all. Aren't they just late game cannon fodder that give you more points per kill than grunts?
If a Titan's too busy fighting another Titan a squad of Spectres could probably do some damage maybe Also it feels really cool to have a bunch of Spectres following you around
I just don't see the point in hacking spectres at all. Aren't they just late game cannon fodder that give you more points per kill than grunts?
If you've got a horde of 8 spectres with anti-armor weaponry following your titan, they can and will do damage to titans. As well as the whole shock effect when you burst through a door with 8 spectres right behind you. [editline]16th February 2014[/editline] Could also be useful when rodeoing a titan, have them shoot at the pilot.

would've been great if I didn't have to update my origin client when you posted those
I wish you could pick colors for your pilot and titan, I want to customize more than the loadout
