I just dash away if I'm getting pounded by missiles and cannons. Vortex might come in handy if you're up against multiple titans though, especially if they aren't smart enough to stop shooting when you have it up. I don't seem to get a lot of kills from electric smoke though, do you have to crouch or something to keep the rodeo'd pilot in the smoke?
No, just stand inside the smoke

Just titanfall on chokepoints and force enemies to either run through the dome and take damage or find another way around. It also creates cover against other titans, sometimes scaring them off.

Titans are 24 feet tall, just under 7.5 meters if you're metric
There's definitely some balancing that needs to be done, as well as an actual matchmaking system that doesn't just toss you in with whoever. I'm running around with a ~90%+ win ratio, 9.0-10.0 KD ratio against players and like 18.0 overall. Once you figure out the unbalanced setups it's far too easy to abuse them. Silenced carbine with any sort of a sight = by far the best infantry gun in the beta, because of it i can get a few easy kills off the start of the match combined with a burn card and have my Titan MINUTES before they have theirs. Electrical smoke, 40mm cannon with extended ammo and having that titan minutes before they even have their first one means you've already won the match. Basically every match i play now i'll have 5-10 pilot kills before they even get their first titan drop, and at that point my teammates already have all their Titans up and the enemy team doesn't stand a chance. The system needs some refining

When I get out to shoot them they already have run off.[/QUOTE] Playing on Fracture, my titan got fucked up so I bailed and landed on an outcropping that doesn't really have any way up to it other than ejecting, the titan that had managed to blow mine up saw where I'd landed and was trying to snipe me, I cloaked and jumped down to rodeo him, and he ejected out of his healthy titan on my way down, like a 4 second fall. It started to glow and I had already double jumped. :(
Decided to try the game with low texture resolution, and it seems to run fine. Looks horrible but with the crazy pace, it's not that big a deal. Had a lot more fun than I had a couple of days ago too, so much in fact, that I think I'll pre-order the game some time soon.
I just got killed by a titan being dropped on me, and mind you I wasn't stationary. What are the odds, fuck.
I had a strider from a card at the start of a match once, and I think a drop pod landed on me. Haven't gotten another one since. :(
Too bad this game is just a cod with something more. It was really fun at the beginning but after 5-6 hours you realize how limited it really is. I tried to discover new ways to play or new strategies but it really is limited. For someone like me that like extremely dynamic and complex games like quake it's not worth 50 euros (maybe 5 euros would make the deal). I was really hoping for something really good! Full game will have remote charges and fun stuff like that, so I can imagine there will be a lot more fun things one can do.
If there's someone here that prefers "hold" over "toggle" for ironsights, I made a little AutoHotkey script for download [url="https://www.dropbox.com/s/tha1c3wenms7duo/titanfall%20hold%20ironsights.ahk"]here[/url] (standalone .exe [url="https://www.dropbox.com/s/ymg1fdpmemdi1av/titanfall%20hold%20ironsights.exe"]here[/url], but idk how that interacts with anti-cheat). Only activates when Titanfall is open, so it shouldn't interfer with other software if you keep the script in the background (tho my AHK has a habit of disabling natural hotkeys like ctrl+v, so I kick it when not needed anyway). Tested it a bit in training mode, only side-effect I noticed was that my steam overlay screenshot function - which is bound to capslock - kept making screenshots while capslock was active and while I was holding down the right mouse button. So if for some insane reason you got something bound to friggin capslock of all keys, watch out. Also tried modding that script for crouching, but it didn't work. For crouch maybe have it hold down the button and repeat the downpress after every movement imput type thing.
