Wow that was a joke
I mean, Battlefront was a shit game, but how the fuck was it not a nominee for 'Best Art Direction'?
I think because it's a late 2015 game like Just Cause 3.
It might get nominated in 2016.
its depressing when a free community made /v/ga awards can blow this shit out of the water
i think the true joke is that rise of incarnates was on the list for best fighting game of the year.
even though it was shut down and you can't play it anymore.
it's over? wtf they didnt even announce best rpg lmao did they forget it or what
i mean seriously did i miss it on show? because on the site they dont have a winner for it
That was pretty boring, nothing really overly exciting. That blatant Battlefront advertising was sure something.
Also Her Story seriously got awards? I mean it's an o.k. game but nothing award winning.

And yet Fallout 4 somehow got nominated for goty.

do you have a link to the /v/ga awards?
To be honest that game show was pretty boring most of the time for me. But overall i guess it was okay.

Oh shit, you're right. Game is not even fixed properly yet.
Jade Raymond became likable with the David Hayter comment.
Then fell in one swoop thanks to her getting confused with the Her Story actress for being in The Witcher 3.
It's probably due to the confusing names or was a brain lapse.
She just read from the paper, it was printed wrong.
Also this is the first time I've ever heard of this "Her Story" game.
What the hell is so special about it
do you have a link to the /v/ga awards?

It's 5am now and I have to go to work in 4 hours.
I have to overthink my life decisions. :v:
I have to work in 2, i've only gotten 2 hours of sleep.

The actual Game Awards site isn't updated yet like it is for the other categories.
Here I am thinking some cool, major game reveals were gonna happen again or something, or at least some cool stuff.
Instead we get crowdfunded Psychonauts 2, Telltale Batman, a trailer for a Walking Dead mini-series that was already announced earlier today if not even earlier than that, and Rocket League coming to Xbox One with some Halo-themed cars. I can't even remember anything else, that's how underwhelming this all was.
what a fucking shitshow lmao

Most high up people in video games have to be sjws and it's the perfect sjw game this year. It's fine for what it is but isn't better than anything that got nominated for the same award.
at least there wasn't Pele
Pele would have been better than 80% of this show.
Like, the only things worth going back for is Reggie's speech and Geoff owning Konami.

You sit in front of an old police computer and look trough some videofiles.
There is a nice twist. Storytelling is non-linear. There are no win or loose conditions, you can "end" the game whenever you want.
I played it, the story is really well written and the performance is great, but it could have been a short film. It not doing much with videogame interactivity nor does the players input have any impact to the "gameplay" or story, I wouldn't really call it a game, you just watch videoclips, that's it.
Previous VGAs when the show was hosted on Spike, it was utterly laughable and quite embarrassing, but there was some energy and those who participated seemed to have fun with it. Now these past few years, they have just been quite underwhelming content-wise.
I have a lot of respect for Geoff for putting through with all of this throughout the years (and not just the show, too). And I feel bad for him, seems like he's been very off and it shows a lot, but he still tries.

good to see that konami are self aware
it's a 2015 FMV game
There was another one that was much better for how much it plays into the fact that it IS an FMV game tho

That sounds incredibly underwhelming compared to the other nominees.
I'm legitimately mad that this "game" beat Tales from the Borderlands for best Narrative.

Geoff looks visibly tired from all the corporate bullshit. He used to be a game reviewer and journalist, now he's just a shill bot and an advertiser. Poor guy.

Punished "Doritos Pope" Keighley
The fallen hero once known as Geoff
that actually seems interesting
It is a lot more interesting that it lets on. So much so that Giant Bomb ended up doing a full playthrough of it. Definitely worth checking out for the price.
You know how films have Oscar bait, starting to think games have that too.
