It is a lot more interesting that it lets on. So much so that Giant Bomb ended up doing a full playthrough of it. Definitely worth checking out for the price.
It was fun to watch but the UI looked awful. It was so blatantly a mobile phone game UI.

The actual game component can be a little tedious as well if you don't see the connections the game wants you to make. But in terms of performance, it blows Her Story out of the water.
Geoff looks visibly tired from all the corporate bullshit. He used to be a game reviewer and journalist, now he's just a shill bot and an advertiser. Poor guy.
I thought it was the other way around. He seems much happier these days, and he's able to speak his mind now, hence the Konami callout.
Really happy CDPR won developer of the year in particular. I work as a graphical artist in a small indie company and this summer we released our first game. It didn't sell very well and didn't get great reviews but close after the launch we got a mail from one of their employees who congratulated us on behalf of their studio and told us that he thought the game looked absolutely enchanting. Needless to say, that ment a lot to me.

Now the shilling is just so he can fund his personal endeavours like The Game Awards as opposed to shilling to keep his job.
What game?
Plot twist: Her Story
What game?
Traverser. I did pretty much everything except the 2D cutscenes and characters. Environmental stuff basically.
Gotta relive the best/worst moment.
I've never even heard of this "Her Story" until now, what the hell is it?
I've never even heard of this "Her Story" until now, what the hell is it?
Steam page is here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/368370/ It doesn't look THAT bad but two awards when stuff like Bloodborne and Fallout 4 gets left out, really now?
I've never even heard of this "Her Story" until now, what the hell is it?
it seems our consensus here is that it is a good game but not award winning [editline]3rd December 2015[/editline]
Traverser.
Traverser. I did pretty much everything but the 2D cutscenes and characters.
It has a 97% positive review on steam, I might pick it up.
This entire show was complete horseshit.
Could someone explain to me what made The Witcher 3 so great? I played it on my PS4, and I thought there was way too much micromanagement, and the combat just wasn't very satisfying at all. I want to like it, but the gameplay was just too complicated for me. I wish it was more streamlined.
Witcher 3 is a great game, don't get me wrong, but I personally think it's overrated and given waaaaaay too much credit than it deserves by everyone and everything.
I've never even heard of this "Her Story" until now, what the hell is it?
From what i've gathered and gleamed so far: Basically a woman is brought in for numerous questionings regarding a disappearance and you 'play' by piecing together the story and facts in a non-linear manner. With a computer from 1994 and all the limitations that entails in both video quality and the computer quality itself. Numerous story details, revelations and other factors play in from the various videos, but technically the game only has the loosest of endings if it can even be called that, and you never actually resolve anything, just unfold the mystery at hand to yourself. Essentially a story told in a unique way, but.. nothing really amazing at all to be frank.
And here I was, expecting Fallout 4 to wipe the floor since it was still fresh in everyone's minds. Good on CDPR. Even though the TGAs are usually pretty bullshit, CDPR really deserves all the recognition they can get. Shame that Undertale didn't win anything, but I didn't really expect it to either. As vocal as the fanbase is about it, it's still a relatively small group of people when compared to the ever expanding mass that is the mainstream gamer crowd. It's still my personal GOTY, along with Witcher 3 as well.
I was completely surprised Undertale was a nominee. Which is a good thing.
