It's odd though that the reference is there though, I doubt Lego Dimensions' target audience would catch the reference to a logo from an almost 20 year old game. I suppose it's fun for the rest of us though.
I have a feeling us nerds are the target audience for that specific level pack

I expected something a bit more out of him compared to Portal 2 and Skyrim.
Definitely. Except for the fact Lego Dimensions isn't on PC. :(
please tell me this is not actually in the game
It is. And not only that...
Space is love, space is life.
Anyone remember the source mod where you're a structural engineer that takes photos of a decommissioned dam?
Did it ever come out or is it still in development?
...I don't even know how or why Lego Dimensions is a thing.
Lego Dimensions is better than Skylanders and Infinity and Amiibo
Because you build them instead of just opening them and throwing them on a shelf.
most recent allusion to half-life in a commercial product
fuckin wiiu lego game

Not just WiiU
Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and Nintendo Amiibos are all money printing machines because kids fucking love video games and physical toys.
Having Lego joining the competition seems like a no brainer. The Lego games and toys are already insanely popular with kids and adults, so might as well combine the best of both things.
My brain just can't really handle the... I guess licensing of it all.
If this was out when I was a kid I would have ate it all up because jesus christ.

those black mesa crates must not have been touched in almost a decade
I'm ok with the memes because even though us nerds are the target audience for the pack, you still gotta throw in some easy to digest humor for the kids
Incoming Lego PewDiePie pack.
I wouldn't doubt it.

no kid is going to understand that 2001 reference though
they're not gonna know what black mesa is either
smart kid googles black mesa, finds half life, is interested, plays it, pc gaming master race etc
The best thing about Half life and the mods is there re-playablity, i've just started replaying poke646 and it's successor and but Doom3 or its mods or unreal tourny i haven't touch in years except maybe to take a quick at a new mod
poke646 and it's successor
As of tomorrow, Half-Life 3 will overtake TF2 as the Valve game with the longest gap between announcement and release.
From the best evidence I can find, Valve bought TF Software and announced Team Fortress 2 somewhere around June 1, 1998. It was released on October 9, 2007 - 3417 days later.
Half-Life 2: Episode Three was announced on May 24, 2006 with a projected release date of Christmas 2007 and now here we are, 3417 days later and the game we now call Half-Life 3 isn't here yet. Tomorrow will be day #3418 and TF2 will be knocked into second-place.

Half-Life 3 probably won't be announce until Source 2 fully ships, will probably be a couple more months to a year at least.
Well, if L4D3 is truly their next big project and they also have stuff in store for the Vive, I think the earliest we're going to hear about the game is going to be 2017.
So that one guy who is working on that fanmade episode 3 is about to release:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-closure/news/release-info-part-2
Honestly, he's freaking me out a little bit. So, supposedly he's a 50-year old Dutch ex-heroin addict who spends extremely excessive (asian-like) amounts of time making his mod, that he's been working on for the last couple of years
I really hope he's lying/exaggerating, because I can't possibly imagine what his personal life looks like
