I'm sure at some point in HL3 Gordon will have a confrontation against Combine Advisors. [sp]Avenge Eli's death![/sp]
Was thinking about advisor battles the other day, they'll probably take the same format as antlion guard battles. Namely a big damage sponge (that, while certainly able to do a good amount of damage, is relatively easy to dodge in and of itself) with several mooks to deal with as well.
Meet the most overequipped Combine Soldier ever (well, apart from those from Cinematic mod.)
In HL1, Headcrab Zombies are clearly seen feeding on scientists with their chests.
[sp]Gordon/Alyx sex in HL3 confirmed?[/sp]
That just reminds me of a really bad fanfiction I read years ago that took place after episode 2 where Gordon and Alyx were, for some unknown reason, fucking every chance they had, including in a supply closet in a fucking Combine base. Who comes up with this shit???
The hl3.txt also mentions children.
Huh.
I haven't looked into this hl3.txt much, but if it references children, perhaps this can be a piece of evidence that the game takes place many years after HL2(since that's when we disabled the suppressor), and that they returned to the idea of children being in the game(valve returns to many cut/unused ideas). It's far fetched but it's a possibility.
HL2 standard zombies had a bigger impact on me than HL1's because of their tortured gibberish
Have you ever heard of child/parent relations used in programming?
Being zombies, why would they even eat? The crab could just suck them dry, and then it fucks off to the next poor soul. I know that's how it's officially, but the way I see it, that's how the combine would want it. You'd want them to die off, not keep amassing.
I think it connects to them neurally, so it's not as simple as popping on and off...I think they are sort of semi-permanently attached in a way?
Doesn't explain why they just flop off when you kill the host but not the crab...ah I dunno
I think the crab can sense when its life is in danger, and has the ability to eject itself from the host at the last second
YABBA MY ICING
No matter how I try I only hear "ЕБАТЬ! БОЛЬНО!" which is quite fitting as it translates to "Fuck! Hurts!" from Russian.
I hear "JELP MAH", which sounds disturbingly close to "Hjælp mig" in danish.
It means "help me" :worried:
I always hear it as "jebać moje oczy", which means "fuck my eyes"
Not even "Fuck! My eyes!" or anything, the zombies are begging gordon to have a sexual intercouse with their eyeballs and thats unsettling
I always heard it go as "yabba my life save!'
Their sounds are reversed and slowed down:

Does anyone know what happened to the Badass Combine mod? It was supposed to release on July 31st, but the author has gone quiet.

Headcrabs possess some decree of intelligence. They realize using a host body allows them to feed easier, since a several-feet tall creature with two legs and arms does better at killing things (thus more food at faster rather) than chicken-sized thing alone.
How headcrabs use their hosts:
1. Take it under control
2. Transform it to maximize killing and feeding capabilities
3. Kill something (which is much easier on a relatively tall humanoid that has claws deformed to be more killy)
4. Feed on the dead thing.
5. Repeat until
a. Host dies (either killed or the body collapses from being unable to hold itself with a giant cavity in its torso). Find a new host, and back to step 1. until headcrab either dies or gets to step 5.b.
b. Headcrab has been feeding enough, in which case it will turn until Gonarch and gives birth to fucktillion amount of baby headcrabs and dies since its mouth is covered with the... ball thing... and can't eat anymore.
You know how the saying goes, two heads are better than one. And it applies very much to headcrabs.
I've always wondered, how do headcrabs mutate things? What do Vort mutants look like, do they still tear out their chest cavity?

I'd love to see some headcrab'd vorts in hl3, you could do a really cool introduction scene for the new enemy too.
goddammit
i don't even want to imagine vortigaunt body horror from a headcrab infestation, much less the fuckers trying to zap me
I've always wondered, how do headcrabs mutate things? What do Vort mutants look like, do they still tear out their chest cavity?
Probably some growth hormone that specifically affects bones, only on steroids.
Zombie Vorts would obviously ooze green/yellowish blood and have a deformed/elongated bone structure, although there's still guessing games where the torso mouth would be and whether or not it has any of the Vortigaunt's combat abilities.

I really want to know what a "male" elder stage Headcrab would look like.
[sp]and no, a giant clitoris wouldn't be the answer[/sp]

I'd imagine there claws would be like stunsticks, and that attacking them with the crowbar would be suicide, and I personally think it would be interesting if you could stun them with the gravity gun.

You could do a lot with them, they could be ranged, have an AoE (making melee impossible?), or any number of special effects to them. With the amount of time and talent Valve has, the sky's the limit.
I'd imagine they can't control the electricity and just randomly discharge into things around them, including you.
That could be a cool puzzle element: Herding Zombivorts into a trap to collect their power, opening a door or something.
So basically re-using the Vorti-Cell concept?
Refine and reuse, every concept has a time and place.
I'd imagine they can't control the electricity and just randomly discharge into things around them, including you.
That's almost exactly how I picture them, a walking faulty battery shorting out, electricity arcing across their bodies and out of their chest cavity.
Probably some growth hormone that specifically affects bones, only on steroids.
Sounds like they cause some kind of super-marfan syndrome.
I really want to know what a "male" elder stage Headcrab would look like.
I always imagined they reproduced asexually, so that idea never even crossed my mind.
I'd imagine they can't control the electricity and just randomly discharge into things around them, including you.
Great, now I'm trying to imagine what Fast & Poison Vortigaunt Zombies would be like. Sadly, I'm not really coming up with anything original gameplay-wise.

Fast zombigaunt would be somewhat like the houndeyes, would run up then do a charge-up attack. Poison would be like a halo carrier form maybe?
On the topic of zombies, I'm on the process of creating an hl2 mod where you're able to play as a combine modified headcrab. I would go into detail, but I haven't created a lot of story so far. The name is Half-Life 2: Genetic Variation.
