That VR tech demo also includes the whole HL2/EP1/EP2 code.
I wonder if there is a way to port HL2's content using Dota2 tools...
Also if you open console and enter "quest" it shows a few convars, could be related to EP3/HL3.

So the console is almost identical to the Source 1 variant, or at least to me it is.
I managed to enable cheats, noclip, and spawn an npc_citizen, however it didn't have a model, just an error.
Another interesting thing, is when you try impulse 101, it gives errors for all the HL2 weapons that aren't there.

The lighting in this may not be right. Parts of the scene were loading in and out and lighting / view distance was changing at lot.

I can't seem to get lighting to work however, so I had to use "mat_fullbright 1"

Weird. The test just detects the Intel HD 4000 GPU only and not my NVidia GPU. Also how to to try the test in normal view (not double like VR) without VR and using the mouse to look around.?

I'm getting black screen after the loading completes, however the mouse cursor can "detect" windows and I can blindly use the console. Any fix?

Depends what you were expecting. This is taken from a demo tailored for VR, so it's obvious they weren't going to do ultra cutting edge graphics. It does have immense polycount though and has to run at 90fps at high res, so in that way it's impressive. Also I'm sure a lot of assets are from Portal 2.

How to control this without VR mode using mouse like a normal FPS? Also this doesn't seem to have a store page and doesn't show even in library. I only start it from the downloaded play button.

Can you just copy and paste the models/textures from HL2?

It's in the Tools section, you can find it under the Library menu.
