wut almost every valve title is available on consoles the only thing we would lose out on is fakefactory and gmod, and i can live with that.
valve on console? not optimal imho
3/3 at 3:00pm 100% nothing, but funny anyway.
while youre stuck on the old numerical joke im more amused by the humor behind the physics of valve games
They'll teach you how to not make it possible for the players fly through half of the game on a god damn pallet :v:
I was just replaying Episode 1, and Barney tripped on his way to the refugees on a supply crate, instantly ragdolling and flinging the box away at 999999 mph into the skybox, where it broke and rained down a battery and a box of pistol ammo from above. GG Valve. EDIT: I just got a cool idea for a reimagining of the escort mission in Episode 1. Instead of you leading the groups one by one through the trainyard alone, you, Alyx, and Barney meet up at the Street Generator Plaza and then each leads a squad of refugees (four citizens per squad/person) through the war-torn streets to City 17 in the last stretch to the trains, battling Combine forces and then retaking the train station (which then leads to the strider battle).
I hate the Street Generator Plaza battle.
do you guys think valve will ever work on another game
After Vinny from Vinesauce did his Glitch-Life stream I looked up some cutscenes of G-Man from Episode One and Two again and realized what a creepy fuck he is, and I also realized how much I miss Half-Life. Fuck me, I miss Half-Life.

I miss half-life too, I play all the existing games to fill the void :x But that freaking cliff-hanger still hurts no matter how many times I play v.v

I'm filling the void by playing as many versions of the games on as many platforms as possible. I'm playing through the PS2 port of 1 atm and I plan on playing the Dreamcast port. My local game store now has quite a few cheap copies the Orange Box on PS3 so I don't have to go searching high and low for it because I've heard it's not worth doing that. EDIT Wow that sounds more obsessive than I thought. I only have like 3 platforms that play Half-Life games not counting PC, and I already had the PS2 version for Decay and splitscreen.

I really hope that Valve titles continue to be on console in the future. Call me a peasant, and praise Valve's optimization all you want; I would just really like it if the games were also on console. I mean, Portal 2 has no PeTI editor, Team Fortress 2 is entirely bare bones, Counter-Strike is an uncared-for digital exclusive and Dota 2 & Alien Swarm are more-or-less nonexistent. I just honest to god wish that could change in the future, I'd hate for Valve to become entirely PC-only. I know that's where they make most of their money, and the SteamBox /is/ a console after all, but I'd say the only reason they don't have a sizable market on console is because their relationship with them is completely broken. I'm aware of how Microsoft/Sony wanted to charge money for TF2 updates but that's in the past and if recent games are anything to go by; a completely outdated excuse. If Half-Life 3 isn't on console, I'll be very disappointed.
Hey, Guys! Just had to ask was there any actual concept done for "HECU RPG"? Or was it just throw together on the spot?

L4D had a sizable base on Xbox, they would be stupid to ignore that for the sequel. But as far as keeping them up-to-date with the Steam versions? Will depend what type of game. If it's not a service game (will they even release such a game though), then maybe, for bugfixes and such. But when it comes to their services it's all about steam market and workshop. That won't fly on consoles. So, can't see them bothering with them.
I can't find a mod that makes all AI held weapons have the same accuracy as player weapons. I just dislike the way how certain NPCs fire bullets in a straight line with every gun (Grigori, I'm talking about you), while others' bullets fly around everywhere but where the NPC is aiming (Combine). I would mod it myself, but I can't mod/program/edit code/edit HL2 code/etc. :suicide:
I would mod it myself, but I can't mod/program/edit code/edit HL2 code/etc. :suicide:
I don't know if it was just for me because I already program on another languages, but I found easy learning the basics of C++ and start modding the Source source code (look up the Your first mod: changing the rpg speed tutorial at VDC).
I was wondering if someone has backups of the old Portal 2 Emporium stuff, mainly the Clean PortalGun and the Portal 1 styled skin that was there. Looked everywhere but didnt find it

Im mainly looking for the Portal 1 one
i had snipped this because eh but here's my half-life collection: [t]http://puu.sh/gegtT/35119768e5.jpg[/t] hl2 took 4 discs to install back then, and hl1 came with the original tfc.
thought you guys would find these pretty cool: [t]http://puu.sh/gegtT/35119768e5.jpg[/t] hl2 took 4 cds to install back then and i could only run it on the lowest settings lol.
Those are some pretty rare disks, nice collection!
Anyone have a problem in Windows 7 where your recorder freezes while its open and you're recording gameplay, and then the video has audio but the actual visuals freeze and jump about? I've been trying to record videos of some stuff I'm working on in Hammer, but the videos all turn out to be utter shite because of this video lag/freeze thing. Oh, and my mouse wheel stopped working, so now I can't Hammer with precision. :suicide:
Oh, and my mouse wheel stopped working, so now I can't Hammer with precision. :suicide:
This doesn't really relate to Half Life beyond the Source engine, but I'm 90% sure there are keyboard shortcuts for whatever the scroll wheels does in Hammer. More importantly, and even less related, I have no idea why you are using a screen recorder when Source can export Raw images which can be shoveled into VirtualDub with the sound. Unless you're recording Hammer Footage, in which case screenshots/diagrams can take the place of footage.

I don't even know how I managed to learn Hammer at all, let alone so well. Anyways, is there a 'muddy' texture for the Elites like there is for the other two types of soldiers? They were supposed to appear in EP2, although I don't think they actually do ever in the retail game.
Interesting fan art by Wadim Kashin [t]https://cdn.artstation.rocks/p/assets/images/images/000/494/460/large/wadim-kashin-halflife1.jpg?1424720087[/t]
if they ever show stuff it will be either at the talk the writer is giving about "closely guarded secret" or the glnext talk, because I mean, why would they port source 1 to glnext?
Any decent graphical mods? I was going to go for FakeFactory
FakeFactory
Them's fighting words round these parts These I can recommend: HD Weapons: http://hl2.gamebanana.com/skins/19062 HD Citizens: http://hl2.gamebanana.com/skins/134387 HD Characters: http://hl2.gamebanana.com/skins/126833

FF characters looked horrible but the maps/lighting looked great
