no seriosly, like, how is this possible technically to pull off
even if you use a wrong shader in VMT file, as long as it have $compilewater this shouldn't happen
the only way I can think of straight off my head is if he put bullet decals with hammer there, but I guess OfficerLamarr made those himself with a gun
It doesn't share any effects that water has. It doesn't make splashes when walked through, driven over and when props are thrown in. I pretty sure it's just concrete.
Hmm. I remember there being something bugged with the custom folder for Update, would I need to fix something so I can use this with it?
You have to put your custom content in the hl2 folder for it to work in Update.
Tiiime... Mr. Freeman? The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.
Basically, they chose to release Gordon on the Red Letter Day, when Kliener was ready to use his teleport.
I meant why would they pay to release Gordon when they can break him free from G-Man's stasis?
Perhaps they didn't know his location until he was released, and only then could they locate the stasis "chamber".
Or maybe they realised the super portal will open and the Combine will come to destroy Earth once and for all, which made them take a drastic measure and "steal" Gordon against the G-Man's wishes.
I'm not sure if you were going for it but to me a lot of the animations seem very twitchy/spazzy. Like something out of a cartoon.
I was going for it on some, yeah. Other than that though, it's probably just me being shitty lol. :v
So, in non-update HL2, the chain-link fences have lost their transparency, so they're all overlaid with black. How should I fix that? I tried playing with the Nvidia control panel, but no cigar.
On Highway 17 in HL2: Update, I found a way to meet up with the Gman without him leaving.
Let's start up with some G-man theory's shall we?
I have a theory surrounding G-man and the Combine themselves.

Since they say that the Combine is an empire that span's multiple dimensions we can presume that Earth is a mere little peace of there empire.
The G-man is an over-watcher of Earth and all the other planet's and universe's with living thing's that are intelligent in our dimenson. He is a member of a council of watchers who look over dimensions, looking for beings with power, intelligence and courage that they can work for the Combine as soldiers.
This is why he silently kills of his friends so he can take Gordon without anybody close to him try to defend gordan from being taken away.
G-man is basically a controller of Earth's Dimension, And that Dr.Breen is basically there to put on a show and to keep the G-man hidden while still controlling the event's from behind-the-scene.
Taking a screenshot removes the issue? Weirdest bug I've ever seen in a game.

I'm guessing it's already been stated but the latest Valve News Network video talked about Facepunch so no doubt we're going to get an influx of kids born after the year 2000 right about now.
I WAS BORN IN 1999 FAGGOT!!

This is actually really plausible. Ahh, it sounds so great when you get people involved in brainstorming such things years after the games came out. In Ep2 the GMan wanted to "extract some repayment", part of which included getting Alyx to White Forest safe. He probably has his own reasons for keeping her alive, or he just wanted her to see Eli die.

Alyx even says "Funny, you showing up on this day in particular"

It probably doesnt even have $compilewater then
But like
Why the hell would you do that, was there some kind of an obscure glitch that he was trying to avoid?
On Highway 17 in HL2: Update, I found a way to meet up with the Gman without him leaving.
I did that in HL2, I think it was pre-2010 update. Basically I went by the binoculars, cleared out the Combine, did not look through them, drove around the coast until I was either half way to to NLO or within view, then turned around and went back to the Binoculars. Looked through them to view the meeting, drove back to NLO, and when I got there Gman and Odessa were standing on the balcony.
The Gunship killed both of them :v:
[editline]9th April 2015[/editline]
Also regular Odessa still appeared in the basement and functioned normally.
Well, finally hunkered down (on Update) and got the Zombie Chopper achievement. As much as it feels like Ravenholm was a combat tech demo for the Gravity Gun, there's still way too few props it feels like, and too many points where it's easy to lose what you're throwing to the streets below. I had to do the age old tradition of running in circles while waiting for the cart as three Fast Zombies trailed me. :v:
updating y'all on that old trainstation concept map i was making. personally happy with it

its Dr not Mr
The lore says that the HECU marines were preparing for the Black Mesa incident at least a week before it happened. Does that mean they were warned by G-man?

They probably figured something crazy was gonna go down at black mesa, just a matter of time.
