I just noticed something that doesn't match up. In Black Mesa East, Alyx says that the primary fire is good for "clearing mine fields." Yet the only mines really near or in C17 are Combine Hopper Mines, which can't be punted and have to be pulled out of the ground with the secondary fire.
That just seems to be how Valve does things for some reason. Like Left 4 Dead being in 2009, but almost all of the cars are 70's/80's/90's models.
Maybe that's because L4D is a loveletter to trashy zombie flicks, and most of those flicks were created in that period?
Maybe that's because L4D is a loveletter to trashy zombie flicks, and most of those flocks were created in that period?
Then why isn't it simply set during that period?
Then why isn't it simply set during that period?
Yeah, I agree with you here
At least there is a Golf from the 80s.
What's the most reliable method to decompile version37 MDL files from the beta?
The leak also has the rusted shell of a 40's era truck, and for some reason, 3 models for a Mini Cooper in various stages of decay.
Someone's already converted those to retail, they are on the workshop

John and Ellen are such a talented couple

A vast field of destroyed and rusted T-72's, BMP's, BTR's, Ural and UAZ trucks, AA vehicles, and the remains of Mi-24 (Hind) attack helicopters and MiG jets. And of course, hundreds of skeletons and rusted AK-74's embedded in the dry dusty ground.
John and Ellen released the Guitar and Ellen's singing tracks separately, so they can be GLaDOSified! Can't wait to hear what people will make of this. I was trying to do it with the original mix, but it wasn't come out well. MP3 Download

Then so be it! Do you ever think the governments attempted to use nuclear weaponry during the 7 hour war? Did they not realise that mass destruction is happening so fast they may as well try it?
It's leftovers, and it serves no purpose other than someone forgot to remove it. That's the texture sheet used by the hatchback in the HL2 leak. It's no longer used because the retail hatchback uses a separate texture sheet with a completely different layout. Kinda a shame though, it's higher quality than the textures in retail, and each hatchback had 5 skins (white, red, orange, blue, and yellow).
I've also been busy repairing an HL2 car. Ignore the smoothing for now.
Looks like a golf mk1

At least go out in a "If we can't have it, you can't either!" sort of way and fuck over the planet so it's worthless to the Combine.
I imagine that shit happened so quickly, they didn't have time to realize, analyze, and launch the nukes.
That was exactly one of the wastelands proposed during development.
I know, that's what made me think of it. That and Valve likes to reuse old concepts, and so far we've seen nothing of the war but a newspaper clipping. Seeing first-hand the end result of humanity's final struggle would drive-home the point even more of how one-sided the battle was, and why you need to defeat them.
Do you ever think the governments attempted to use nuclear weaponry during the 7 hour war? Did they not realise that mass destruction is happening so fast they may as well try it?
Where would they nuke? The Citadels appeared in Earth's major cities, where the majority of humanity was already congregating due to the portal storms infesting the countryside with Xenian fauna.
I would be surprised if they didn't. Not only that, but Combine Soldiers and Combine Stalkers are radiation resistant as evidenced by their presence in the Reactor Core, not being fried to death.

I don't see why everyone seems to love the beta AR2, I really don't like it
Looks nice, did you edit the shape for the blue trabant? And what's that bus in the background?

Also I just remembered there's actually a [thread=1253345]HL2 Beta thread still active on FP[/thread] (I thought it died which is why I didn't mention it before). If you're still looking for that decompiler, you might be able to ask there.
