finally someone that speaks my language
what a fitting nickname
And my father thought that Half-Life: Source was the better version of Half-Life because it was on source. Boy me and my brother did try to convice him wrong.
Alyx is a bad character in HL2
she's fine in the episodes though
she's fine in the episodes though
The look she gives you in episode 2 when Magnusson is talking about thanking you for saving his rocket is still my favorite though.
Bingo board time! Cross off "Marphy posts, everyone rates informative", "rant about HL1/Source", and "Alyx is shit"
Speaking of Half-Life: Source, can anyone tell me what exactly causes the soldiers in it to be so much more deadly than they were in the original game? How precisely did they get altered from the originals? Are they more accurate with their weapons, or do they deal more damage, or what? Are these alterations another bug, or did Valve intentionally alter the soldiers' behavior when porting the game?
it's a bug

I was reading through the overwiki and was thinking about how Dhabih Eng's artstyle and the pre-release story would make a great graphic novel. His art looks like it would be perfect for that kind of thing. [t]http://combineoverwiki.net/images/1/10/Gordon_early_lower_citadel.jpg[/t]
Half-Life 1's slight themes of sexual horror (probably in reference to Alien) were interesting to hear about. Although Black Mesa's redesign of the hive-hand might've been questionable, I thought the ass shove was perfectly in-tone.
What if Half-Life:Day One was a NES game?
the way headcrabs do 15 damage is terrifying.
Does anyone else hope for Half-Life 2 to be ported over to Source2? Like yeah HL:S has a bunch of issues but for some reason Half-Life 2 stutters more than a nervous drunk with Parkinson's on a blind date for me. [editline]30th January 2015[/editline] That's hoping Source2 won't have the infamous stutter Source has
Don't worry, there'll just be a mod called City 17: Source 2 that takes 11+ years to finish
Don't worry, there'll just be a mod called City 17: Source 2 that takes 11+ years to finish
Eventually they'll just call it City 17. And the Citadel part will get released a few years after the rest of the mod is released.

a city 17 mmo would be neat not like mmorpg gameplay, but just like one massive map of the city, nahmsayin?

the longer we wait, the less black alyx gets
Just beat The Neverhood, I had a fun time recognizing all the sounds that would be later used in Half Life 2. Does anyone know where Valve licensed their sound pack from? Just out of curiosity.

Hey, I wanted to try Sven Coop with my little brother, but we only have one copy of HL1. Is there any way to play Sven Coop with only one Steam copy, or would we have to buy another?

You might be able to log in in offline mode at the same time on both computers though. But idk if Half Life is smart enough to know if you're on the same account or not. I doubt it though.
All those bushes remind me of fakefactory cinematic mod :v:
To be fair, many areas should be overgrown since they were unmaintained for about 15-20 years.
Not with the Combine gasses and shit that's getting pumped into the air and the seas that are dry.
Probably, but Episode 2 shows us that the nature is still in fairly good condition.
Not with the Combine gasses and shit that's getting pumped into the air and the seas that are dry.
The whole gasses things I don't think is in the story anymore.
Probably, but Episode 2 shows us that the nature is still in fairly good condition.
I wonder how many mammals, if any at all, are still alive with the amount of Antlions present, though...
