I think the expansion itself will be great, TerminX already mentioned that good people were working on it. And it seems like we're getting a Flamethrower Altfire for the Freezer, much like the Expander for the Shrinker. Will we perhaps also see the return of the Plasma Ripper? I'm also curious about what music they will use. Each level in Duke3D had its own track, and none were ever reused. Maybe they are going to utilize some of the removed Beta songs? Here's hoping they do!

Which might be a good thing! It might be a bad thing, too - remember Bobby Prince's performance in Wrack? Yeesh.
I hope the music is more energetic than Duke 3D's soundtrack. It's not bad, but most of it is too mellow for the gameplay.
First leaked images of Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour Supposedly the new content is being handled by Nerve Software, who handled Doom 2: No Rest For The Living. If that's true, then at least the maps will be in good hands.
Not sure what to think. I'm wondering if they tried to do their own version of DN3D's engine, or take eDuke and slap shit together, but I swear there's horizontal view stretching.

I'm digging the yellow lighting in front of the movie theater, but the shadow casting on the enemies should come from the opposite direction... it's tingling my OCD :v:
I dunno, I'm fairly adaptable 30FPS is acceptable with a controller, with m+kb it is total hell (heh)
From my experience, "real" 30fps on PC is not something that is easily accomplished. When you force half the frames from the nVidia control panel, for example, it really screws with your controls, like it halves the polling rate. It often screws with the frame-pacing, and if you can't really run the game, then your frame rate and pacing is going to make the game look awful. Now, games that can run natively at 30fps tend to have way better input experiences, often because it doesn't halve your input speeds. Marathon, for example, runs at a locked 30, but it plays excellently with m/kb. Same goes for Star Trek Online and its 30fps toggle. Not saying it's better than 60 by any stretch of the imagination, but a properly frame-paced 30fps is a beautiful thing.
Don't forget guys, vanilla Doom ran at native 30fps. We needed source ports to break that limit.
Don't forget guys, vanilla Doom ran at native 30fps. We needed source ports to break that limit.
I thought it was actually something like 18 FPS?
Who thought my 940M could cause a full-out discussion on framerate This lil card sure delivers
Something about those screenshots seems very off, but I can't put my finger on what that is. I can't say I like the shoddy looking shadows that the shrubs and other objects are casting in a few screenies, and the lighting feels way too bright.
I thought it was actually something like 18 FPS?
Oh wait I was thinking of Noctis IV v:v:v
Something about those screenshots seems very off, but I can't put my finger on what that is.
Maybe it's the textures with different resolutions. The floor on the first image has at least double the resolution of floors in other images. Also I'm not sure about that "high resolution" grass next to a low resolution tree. The Egypt screenshot is similar, the two screenshots look like they are using higher resolution textures than the rest, that look more like the original. Then again I haven't played DN3D in years...
For whatever reason text on the ingame screens (like the one at the very beginning after getting your suit) look a little blurrier under Vulkan compared to OpenGL Kinda sad Vulkan didn't do shit in my laptop
it's only gonna do shit if you have an AMD card or a 900-series Nvidia or above, otherwise it's just kinda useless and even then not all rigs respond the same to it, even the aforementioned ones
The 940M is a 900 series though Oh well, I just hope the rest of the game runs as good as the demo does :v:

Heck, I think most monsters sprites scale down automatically to give the illusion of being more detailed than Doom.
Wasn't TerminX railing it just a few months ago?
Even when he was in full-on War Mode at Gearbox, he was complimentary to the work of - and trying to help out - the level designers at what we now know is Nerve.
So is DoomGuy confirmed to be the same person from Doom 2
They're deliberately refusing to confirm or deny anything beyond what is explicitly said in the game because it'll "ruin everything". Read into this what you will.
So is DoomGuy confirmed to be the same person from Doom 2
More like a fanfiction hero and a parody of himself at the same time.
Well I mean the whole "killing demons for eternity in Hell to make sure they never escape again" thing from Doom 64 followed by the whole [sp]Doom Slayer having existed for a long time waging war in Hell before he was sealed[/sp] kind of makes it real obvious. Even his few reactions to the UAC's fuckery make sense for someone who's seen them screw it all up before. [editline]27th August 2016[/editline] oh, looks like i missed flavor text that shit all over that implication
[vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/nscnhu.webm[/vid] Look at this helpless dipshit.
[hd]https://youtu.be/KSd0pI1EQGk[/hd]
This video and the one of the shotguns rotating around the bottom of the screen remind me of the Marksmen from The Suffering.
oh, looks like i missed flavor text that shit all over that implication
Which flavour text.
Which flavour text.
The whole factor of the [sp]Night Sentinels that the Doom Slayer was formerly a part of, who all got slaughtered alongside the fact that his original planet of Argent D'naur or whatever was taken over by Hell as well. Doomguy looks human from his face beneath the helmet, but the implications leave things ambiguous as to whether he's from an alternate universe or just a world Hell took over, or whether he was just a member of that group and became ultra destructive when they died. You could suppose that the original Doomguy may have founded that order during his Hell containment or he himself became a member and happened to be the last survivor. Again.[/sp] It's written so it could be an entirely new character or an ambiguous return so that if they make a sequel, they can do as they please probably.
