No surprise. Snapmap never struck me as something with longevity, and while it's cool in concept, it took an update with DLC content in it months after launch to add some features one would think should've been in there by default.
Although the lobby systems for both multiplayer and snapmap do suck ass.
I'm still wondering why they thought Snapmap was a good idea.
Why couldn't they just release a GECK style mod creation kit for DOOM?
And if they were really getting their balls in a twist about it not being available for consoles, why not try something along the lines of Fallout 4's shared mods for PC and console.
And it'd probably work out better, since DOOM isn't a buggy sack of shit.
[editline]31st August 2016[/editline]
It's weird because it seems like Bethesda is the one that's responsible for the lack of SDK kits, since this whole debacle has been around since they've been consistently publishing id's games, starting with DOOM 3 BFG, a re-release with no mod supports, of a game that literally came with a menu to select mods.
And I just find that odd because Beth is a company that's ridiculously supportive of Mods in their games, to the point that I swear they leave some things broken/unfinished because they know a modder will fix it anyways.
Beth is just the Publisher.
Lack of Mod Support would have come from ID.
Maybe its the engine itself, maybe it wasn't made for modding. remember the Rage SDK?
Why couldn't they just release a GECK style mod creation kit for DOOM?
Official mod support for games is something that companies need to devote time and money towards, and it's possible that they might not own everything they used in the game. Some technology is probably licensed from other companies, which could complicate things.
And I just find that odd because Beth is a company that's ridiculously supportive of Mods in their games,
Bethesda didn't make this game, they published it. Bethesda (The Publisher) just publishes games. It isn't the same company that makes Fallout and TES, those guys are owned by Bethesda (The Publisher).
Bethesda (The Developer) keeps mod support because it's already part of the engine and it's expected of their games. Bethesda (The Publisher) doesn't care, and they're not going to devote time and effort into making an SDK that could easily be really advanced and too complexfor most mod users to work with. Look at how many expansive Rage mods exist - Would you want to put time and effort into another SDK after the one they did make got nearly no use?
I'm very aware that Beth is just the publisher, but it's felt like there's been a special little bit of meddling in the game on their side. Mainly with MP and Snapmap, not so with SP though.
That is a good point about the lack of SDK though, Hoodoo.
Another issue with mod support that Id mentioned when asked about it at Quakecon was file size. How many people would download and get involved with proper mods if every single custom map was at minimum a 2gb download?
That said, they haven't closed the door on custom Doom 4 mods forever, they're still talking about the possibility. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

I honestly hope for an outdoor Mars tileset for snapmap eventually.

It's being developed by David Szymanski and published by New Blood Interactive (made up of some ROTT2013 bods) with music by ROTT2013's Andrew Hulshult. It promises hand-crafted levels, endless survival and TDM modes, and flushing gibs down the bog. Hopefully someone more familiar in moonrunes can give us the scoop.

The sound effects are kind of limp sounding, I feel, especially the monster/player noises.

Shadow Warrior Classic Redux is now available at GOG, now here is the best part. The Shadow Warrior Classic Complete is now free forever and well, it is now far superior than Steam's Shadow Warrior Classic, due to the fact it includes all the expansions.
Also Shadow Warrior 2 is ready for pre-order. There are discounts for people who own Shadow Warrior 2013 and Hard Reset
Shadow Warrior 2 releases October 13th

$32 if you have the original Shadow Warrior.
Shiiiit.
Aren't the gold weapons in the deluxe edition rather useless when you find better weapons?
I tried it to download the Dusk test level from Box, but the download button does nothing.
Incase anyone downloaded it, could someone mirror it for me?
