Not everything old is inherently good, and everyone has different tastes anyway. There's definitely strengths and weaknesses to the style Dusk seems to be going for. It definitely appeals to that early Quake feel, yeah, but to me personally I'd take either better 3D or sprites over early 3D stuff.

Don't bother. It's literally a crap UT2k4 clone that doesnt even bother to differentiate itself and it's cloak thing is a gimmick at best.
Plus, the marketing is arrogant and obnoxious - the trailer is literally them listing features common in modern shooters that this game DOESN'T have.

But for real now, if you want gameplays mods, you should check some of wildweasel's mods like [url=http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=33330]Terrorists![/url] or [url=http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=29815]Nazis![/url] and if you feel going back to one of his older mods I recommend taking a look at [url=http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=27102]Diaz[/url]. Remember to have your GZDoom updated with the latest [url=http://devbuilds.drdteam.org/gzdoom/]snapshot[/url].

BD is fine if you're in the mood for it. I like OSJC's Mod ([url]http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35414[/url]) as sort of a Vanilla + version of Doom. SmoothDoom or Beautiful Doom are great if you just want base gamepaly with better visuals. Aliens The Ultimate Doom ([url]http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45213[/url]) is another good one if you want a good total conversion.
Project Brutality is my personal favorite BD derivative, definitely worth checking out. For a more vanilla+ type mod then Smooth Doom is what you should check out.
For a whole new experience Cold as Hell SE is pretty great.
Another nice mod to have is Maps of Chaos
I wish there was a way to play with Cold as Hell gameplay in other maps, I like the weapons and medical system.
If you're playing Brutal Doom, definitely play Hell on Earth Starter Pack. It has some really good levels, especially in the city.
My favorite gameplay mods at the moment are Accessories to Murder, Doom 4 for Doom, and Combined_Arms (made by a Facepuncher).

I highly recommend using Smooth Doom even if you just want vanilla gameplay. At its minimum all it does is make animations smoother.

I really like MSX. If you want the good elements of games like Halo and Crysis mixed with the good elements of games like Doom, its a lot of fun.

That game is so well made but I just can't play it for more than a few minutes now because there's so little variation.
They really dropped the ball by not adding some challenge levels or anything. I'd just take some slightly different arenas.
