So how is Shadow Warrior 2? I loved the remake so this game was definitely on my wish list, but I'd like to know what you guys think. I trust the users here more than some professional reviewer or whatever it is they call themselves at those games journalism places.
It is wangtastic

You turn into sonic in new game plus.
I love it.
For some reason I though SW2 was going to have the movement speed of Doom 4, kind of dissapointed when I saw a performance video, might still try it out, though
well great job
it seems i can't start up shadow warrior 2 without it immediately crashing, and this isn't an uncommon problem for windows 10 users
[editline]14th October 2016[/editline]
so following a dev's methods of trying to fix this problem, also involving verifying the game cache integrity, is now installing 7.1GB, half of the game's overall size
fucking hell
Sorta the same issue here. Loading screen for the first level gets about halfway and then the game just hangs. Apparently it's because I'm running it on a dual core, so I'll wait for the patch. Still, I want some fuckin' Wang.
Why would you be running on a dual core in 2016?
Why would you be running on a dual core in 2016?
If it weren't for a very gracious family member giving me a massive computer upgrade last month, i'd still be rocking a GTX 560, 4GB of RAM and an old 2.66GHZ intel quad core that preceded even the i5.
It's not uncommon for people to still have old hardware, it's always amazing to see what kind of shit people pull off to still be able to play some modern games with outdated hardware.
Why would you be running on a dual core in 2016?
Not everyone has shitloads of money for PC gaming. That's part of the reason why consoles are still a thing.

lol there's tons of people who still have a dual core. Not everyone can afford to have the latest shit at all times.
For some reason I though SW2 was going to have the movement speed of Doom 4, kind of dissapointed when I saw a performance video, might still try it out, though
The movement speed is technically faster than in Doom. You just have to constantly dash forward and forward thrust with a sword while in the air and you go off flying like a cannonball.

You say that as if Shadow Warrior 2 isn't $40 and a quad-core processor can't be found at sub-$100.
You don't need an i7 and 1080, but you should come to expect issues if your PC is that far behind
lol there's tons of people who still have a dual core. Not everyone can afford to have the latest shit at all times.
Again, a dual-core is waaay back there technology-wise. It's not like a top-of-the-line CPU is what's being expected here.
My CPU was released in 2014. It shouldn't be THAT far behind.
We're trying to save as much as we can anyway and I really don't want to pour money into things that aren't immediately important. They're gonna patch it up in a few days anyway so it's no big deal.

Are you ready for Duke re-release #XY, Bazingaton Edition?
I hate Randy Pitchford so much. What a sad excuse for a human being.

"You're buying the new content and tech." Well, if that's the case, it's still a rip-off because it still has less content than the old version.
Welp, he has nothing to lose anymore.
Guess all the hatred since Colonial Marines made him evolved from an average dumbass CEO to a rotten money-hungry shitlord.
RIP hope for Borderlands 3.
Good thing I lost all hope for BL3 after looking back at BL2 and the presequel :v:
Good thing we have Shadow Warrior 2, which has strains of the Borderlands style of looter-shooter but (quite likely) with better gameplay. It'll mean that Borderlands 3, if it ever comes out, will have competition.
Still, kinda sucks that Battleborn got fucked over by fate and karma, since it seemed like a decent enough game.
Found out Q3BSP supports sky portals for HL2 style skyboxes, and Darkplaces supports Q3BSP so i did a test
So you are running Darkplaces with Q3BSP maps and Half-Life sounds? What is this glorious monostry going to be? What's your plan?
Just ordered a SNES copy of Spectre.
My 16-bit shooter collection is coming along nicely, if a bit slowly.
Currently I've got Zero Tolerance, Wolfenstein 3D, and Faceball 2000. With this I'll have all the ones that play decently.
Now I'm mentally debating on Mega Drive Duke 3D or SNES Doom for my next one. Doom is closer to the PC version by a long shot in terms of content, but Duke 3D plays better.
EDIT: Or maybe Battle Frenzy for some multiplayer action. For some reason German copies are a lot cheaper than others.
Last patch for Shadow Warrior 2" dumbed down" difficulties names and gave them colours.
Amazing, I wonder who was too confused about them and had to make a complaint.

SNIP
What? They're still there.

At least when you continue it shows you this:

I've decided to start up doom again today, but apparently I can't play it because of a "Unhanded Exception" error. Here's the log.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah, those are their actual names. They were also written next to the old difficulty levels, but those only show up when starting a new game

you've probably tried this already but maybe checking the game cache will fix it?
Tried verifying the cache, launched the game and it still crashes.
I have the latest Nvidia driver installed.
edit: fixed the issue by following these steps to get it working again.
well that didn't take long:

The biggest drawback of eDuke32 is still that it doesn't have any multiplayer though.
If it weren't for that then there'd really be no reason to use either the Megaton Edition or World Tour.
