I've got the game maxed out on my 980 at 1080p, top framerate I get is around 160 without V-Sync on.
Alright, got all my masteries and logs. Three secrets left, one in Argent Research Facility and the other two in [sp]Argent D'Naur[/sp]. The last three of my challenges are all there (I got the Trick Shot one with the Lost Souls in my first go on Titan's Realm, with the first ones there :v:). In terms of Runes, I also have three left of those; The one that saves you from near-death once per level and wants you to kill ten enemies while it's active, one that wants you to pick up 500 ammo items, and one that wants you to pick up 200 dropped items from enemies. I've been using Armored Offensive to get armor items for glory kills so I get past that last one more easily, and i've been clearing out areas and then expending every single pickup in the area for the ammo items one.
Saving Throw's gonna be a pain, though; I just about never die anymore because I know how to work the game, even without abusing Richer Get Rich. I'll probably dive into an early mob of Possessed, get mauled, and then die repeatedly until I get it upgraded.
Another warning though, is if the ''Dead Man Stalking'' Challenge on Kadingr Sanctum is bugged. It is possible that you somehow don't clear the challenge even after finding all of the Elite Guard corpses on your first run, and it will thus show as incomplete in the menu. From personal experience, if you clear the map while having 4 Predator Tokens, the game will count the challenge as cleared even if the level select menu says otherwise, and you will still get the achievement of having cleared every challenge if you did clear all the other challenges.
With my suit fully upgraded, I don't exactly have 4 Praetor Tokens on me anymore (though I can't do anything about the 12 spare Weapon Upgrades), but the bug still happens. I just hope and pray I can get that cleared out by playing the map again after getting the final level's challenges out of the way.
The arcade mode made me want to finish what i was currently working on:
Golden Souls 2 now has score points!
Much like classic platform games, if you collect coins or kill enemies you'll earn points! This opens up tons of gameplay possibilities such as score based speedruns! And if you don't care about scores, don't worry, you can toggle everything off!

Work on MetaDoom continues.
A look at the Cyberdemon, which has gotten a couple of new tricks, like a Rocket Dash and the ability to walk around while shooting.

I get a constant 60 on a 970 on ultra, the game is really well optimized.

I have a 1070 and got stable 60 FPS on 1440p all the way through the game on with most if not all settings maxed out. Just make sure you're using Vulkan instead of OpenGL and you should be good to go.

On a completely different spectrum my 940M can get 60-40 fps on low, 85% render scale at 1024x576

I do this with a 980ti. You'll be fine.

Here's some footage of an early implementation of the custom minimap in my mod:

Currently a bit weird due to it updating in quarters but the base functionality is working.

Stylistically the slow updates fit perfectly with Doom and the old graphics. It's great.

That automap minimap looks amazing. I'd love to have just that as some kind of standalone mod.

TBH, that hud is way, WAY too cramped honestly. It's like have a really narrow FOV, and I'm normally not bothered by FOV stuff. That said, if you could maybe do a version that has all the useful elements, but with either the excess trimmed out, or made very transparent. I really like what you've done, but that HUD is gonna make it really hard to enjoy. :S

Personally the extreme obstructiveness of the alpha HUD adds to it's charm, but there are a few options for people who do not share my love:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/NGBL8Gy.png[/t]
For starters, you can nudge the mouthpiece down a bit, which people have told make makes the view a bit roomier.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/txPNnmW.png[/t]
If that doesn't help, you can use the alternative HUD from 0.3 which provides a lot more space.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/YeZDz1q.png[/t]
If you play in 16:9 resolutions, the helmet HUD stretches to compensate, which makes things a bit less claustrophobic. For those who've played Samsara with the weapon bar enabled, it feels a bit similar.

I'm pretty much numb to Mark's antics at this point.
Well, I always wanted to do a Doom 64 revival. Maybe his mod will drum up more interest in D64 projects by people
Gut the shitty unfitting HQ sounds and consider the fact that if he did the whole game we can possibly have Doom 64 coop and I'm down
I think this might be the only retro FPS forum I've seen this posted on that didn't respond with something along the lines of "WTF is with those Tchernoborg sprite edits?"
To be honest, I don't really see any retro FPS forum talk about it.
I have been plagued with performance issues in the new Doom game ever since it launched. A lot of people, including me, seem to have FPS issues with the 700 series. Having a 770 myself, it ran to an almost unplayable degree. And yesterday I accidentally found the fix. I've looked up ways to fix it before with no avail, but this actually seem to have worked for me. I started "RivaTuner Statistics Server" which is a program I hadn't used in forever. The reason behind it is because the multiplayer, for some reason, ran at an insane framerate and everything was going super fast. So I limited the game to 60 fps, and there you have it. Even the singleplayer ran at 60 now.
If anybody else has a 700 series card and is experiencing sub-40 FPS at almost all times, I recommend trying that. It could have been something else that fixed the issue as well, but I think it might be worth a try if the thought hadn't passed by before.
Doom 64 has already been ported to the PC.

On top of that, Doom 64 was meant to be a very eery game. All guts and glory ruins the game's atmosphere even worse than first doom's. What's the point of hell, if hell can't be scary?

I thought the coop didn't work properly in that?
I thought the coop didn't work properly in that?
Doom 64 wasn't made with the coop in mind. It relies heavily on instant moving floors to create tunnels and bridges. There's also at least some "scripted events" aka. sectors move up and down and map changes somewhat, such as the "hammer" thing that reveals new path at one of the early maps.
anyone know of any good wads for johnny doom or demonsteele
i need some good stupid bullshit in my life rn
Anyone here beaten Doom 3 (and especially RoE) on Nightmare?
All the times.
Modded to be much much harder and then beat it some more.
Added maps with two excellent map bros that turned into a campaign. Beat that some more.
Only RoE twice, it's just kind of short and doesn't really go anywhere.
Anyone here beaten Doom 3 (and especially RoE) on Nightmare?
it's not really any different from veteran. infact it's veteran but with hp decay and alot of victory device spam.
I loved Lost Mission especially because you only have guns and no alien shit thing.
I only go up to Veteran in Doom 3 because I don't want to deal with Nightmare's pain in the ass health drain effect.
