Maybe they're love handles? :ohno:
Though it does look like it, it's not the same one
This Samuel looks like a body made without much time for refinement, like you could easily push him over. Hell, maybe it was an early body in-universe (and infact elements of this design looked like they made it onto the final Revenant). The final version looks like he could fucking punch you through a wall if he felt like it.
That's probably because his legs are very short in that concept, the normal ratio for humans at least is that there's the same amount of space from head to crotch and crotch to head. And there's nothing to scale him to so out of context the viewer may not know he's like 3 m tall or look at him from a first person perspective.
He also has a much shorter neck in the final version, those robot gains
I still can't believe that Samuel was supposed to be a sort of Wheatley crossed with Cave Johnson character.
Also, I'd love to see some of the early versions of Samuel that were apparently so fucking huge that they realized they couldn't fit him in any of the situations they wanted to use him in so they had to create his current form.
I'd love to see more concept art of the game in general.
wait what where the hell are you getting all this from
I really hated the choreography on Hayden in Doom 4. He moves around like he's in the middle of an exciting rap battle, his movements were much too human and doesn't convey that he's in fact a half brain inserted into a 3m power ranger.
Hayden was fine to me. My problem was that Olivia and the Doom Marine's animations don't seem natural at times, and this stems into another problem in that Olivia's lipsyncing is always off by a short period.
Plus her bulged-open eyes in her Echo flashbacks don't help.

To be fair, Olivia DOES have a broken spine.
Yeah, but when you see her she has this almost half-lidded glare-like expression, yet in the Echoes it's like her eyelids are taped wide open. It makes sense for the scene where [sp]the demon voice gives her shit for the Doomguy being recovered, but even at the end when she's all bloodied and possessed and shit[/sp] her eyes don't quite pop like that.

im pretty sure you would be like that too if you were in the same situation
My only problem with Olivia was that we didn't have enough time to really hate her. I would have liked just a few more encounters to hate her even more.
I just wish there was more variations in the styles of Hell we got.
Also I felt like there was a lack of overly complex, eerie looking machinery. It's sort of hard to explain properly, but everything in DOOM '16 felt too sleek. It made sense for the advanced weapons labs and the sort of "corporate surface", but I was hoping the mining and foundry facilities would have some sort of crazy machinery, all spindly, tons of wires, blades, and needles.

well lets not forget that doom 1/2's demons, even being demons, were pretty zany bastards.

Love the fact that he adds mods to the weapons that dont normally have any. That BFG shield looks pretty cool.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them come from scrapped mod ideas in D4's data.
Also the new super shotgun sprites are way better than what was there before.
I hope he redid/plans to redo the SG anims. The new SSG looks great, but before while the SG sprite was decent the anims were extremely meh, they just pushed back the sprite a little bit for the kick.
Otherwise though it looks great.
I hope this addon is still compatible

I am probably thinking too much about it, but it kinda bothers me that the Spider Mastermind looks like it is mainly human technology and weaponry for something that was sort of created out of hell magic or however the deal Olivia made went through. Unless she designed it, but then I dont recall any real indication of that in the game.
Don't get me wrong, the final design is pretty awesome. It just make me scratch my head.
I've never played a lot of the original DOOM (though after Doom '16 I'm gonna try and go back to it), but from everything I've seen about it, I love the super shotgun. There's a... charm, or flair, or something to its reload animation that just tickles my fancy in the right way. A friend showed me Smooth Doom, and I think I actually prefer the original reload animation, even with fewer frames.

I thought this was a little odd too. Especially considering that it's heavily implied that the [sp]Mastermind in '16 is the same one from the original DOOM, as a log describes its remains being found, and it's simply resurrected by Olivia's sacrifice, in a sort of final attempt to kill Doomgy.[/sp]
[sp]Then again, if it's the same one from DOOM 1, then it's had human tech strapped to it for a while, so that would be the fault of the original dimension's UAC.[/sp]
Really? I thought that [sp]the Mastermind we fought was basically Olivia, horrifically transformed into a nightmarish death machine?[/sp]
I really liked Hayden as a character tbh.

I kind of want to see what he'll do now [sp]after he stole the Crucible and backstabbed you.[/sp] Clearly Hell isn't finished yet and [sp]he can serve as one hell of a boss fight on his own degree probably.[/sp]
Hayden would've made a much better Multiplayer and Snapmap announcer than VEGA.
It wouldn't have made as much sense, but his voice is just cool.

That reminds me, when I bought the DLC while it was on sale I noticed that the Vega announcements for new things (primarily the new Hack Modules) didn't have the filter or even the same tone. It's jarring.
His voice is p sexy too.
does Hayden have a bigass laser sword like he did in that one trailer? I havent beat the game yet but Im curious. You can spoiler tag it.

[sp]That's the Crucible, a plot macguffin the Doom Marine fought across Hell with in the backstory that he puts the hell portal's energy into to stop the Demon invasion on Mars. At the end, Hayden basically holds you still, takes the Crucible from you and activates it to show off, saying his research into the hellish Argent Energy to solve humanity's energy crisis isn't going to stop just because the Doom Marine destroyed every other trace of it. It'll probably be a major maguffin in a possible sequel as a result.[/sp]

The animations from the original games have a charm on them
It's like crappy quality shadows imo

[sp]I want to kill things with it.[/sp]
I want a look at what life is like for demons in hell. Do they have communities? We know that the Pinkies and Lost Souls are basically just wild animals in hell, but what other creatures are there? Are there different demon factions that fight against each other for dominance? I really want to know more about hell now.
I still want to believe that all hell is just full of punch-clock villains. The moment 9 to 5 ends, you can just chill with the Revenants and stuff until they gotta punch back in. Doomguy's return just put them on overtime.
