[sp]I want to kill things with it.[/sp]
I admit, it would've been cool if after the final boss, [sp]you get a brief section where you have to fight your way back to a tether point with only the Crucible in your hands, tearing your way through one last demon force to escape instead of Samuel just having the lolwarp. If only so we actually care more about the Crucible.[/sp]
Really? I thought that [sp]the Mastermind we fought was basically Olivia, horrifically transformed into a nightmarish death machine?[/sp]
She literally says "They promised me so much" and then gets electrocuted while screaming in sheer agony. Presumably dying a really painful death. Mastermind definitely wasn't Olivia, not with the logs stating that the demons were already being controlled by a "Mastermind" prior to her death. She died on a massive sacrificial looking design marked across the ground, for that matter. She was a sacrifice that brought the Mastermind to a physical form.
'Hell Followed' is out. Cyber-demonic customisation parts are pretty dope. The new hack modules seem pretty fucking OP - specifically one that lets you regen armour after not taking damage for two seconds and another that gives +20 HP when killing an enemy.
Does anyone know if the DOOM box art shirt on the Bethesda store looks that dull in real life? It looks so dim, can anyone confirm if it is?

Yep. I've got one myself and it does look that faded.
Wow that's pretty fucking lame. I think I'll just get a similar shirt from elsewhere.
[sp]That's the Crucible, a plot macguffin the Doom Marine fought across Hell with in the backstory that he puts the hell portal's energy into to stop the Demon invasion on Mars. At the end, Hayden basically holds you still, takes the Crucible from you and activates it to show off, saying his research into the hellish Argent Energy to solve humanity's energy crisis isn't going to stop just because the Doom Marine destroyed every other trace of it. It'll probably be a major maguffin in a possible sequel as a result.[/sp]
Thanks, I see why they took that shot of him with it out of that trailer. Seeing that made me fully expect him to be a boss fight at the end.

Just google "doom box art shirt" and click on images, pick one you like, and visit the source page.
I found this in ~20 seconds and the only reason it took that long was because I clicked on one that was out of stock first.
I didn't like that one because the edges look weird. Plus they put less of a focus on the demon looking at the camera, WHO DOES THAT?
Honestly, now that DOOM set the basis after trying to get some firm ground, if they do make a sequel after whoever handles Wolfenstein The New Colossus, I wouldn't mind if they expanded things. Not in the sense of sprinting and reloads or shit, but just doing something a little more. I mean, when you contain just about everything except Earth, Pain Elementals and Arachnotrons (and arguably a true Arch-Vile) in one game, what else can you add besides more Demons that doesn't start filling it up too much?
Updated the minimap to be less glitchy when turning around:

Taking on the UAC its self seems like it'd be the next logical step. On the one hand it could be interesting to see how they would tackle Doomguy taking on human security mooks and other elements of the corporate side of UAC but on the other hand maybe that'd be straying too far from Doom's core. At any rate [sp] Sammy vs Doomguy[/sp] sets an interesting new angle for a potential sequel.
[sp]Doom guy is probably going to help from whatever beings gave him his powers in the first place[/sp]
[sp]Samuel is probably gonna gain control of the demons now through the Crucible. That thing probably has a whole bunch of powers we don't know about.[/sp]
[sp]He might turn them into some sort of new slave race for earth as well. Then we ask ourselves who the real monsters are.[/sp]

That'd make sense. Though part of me would also like to see "New DooM II" go a little more "Painkillery" with the weapon selection. Have the more conventional UAC weapons like the Chaingun, the Shotgun, Plasma Rifle etc, have the cool alt-fires for those, but also have some more "gothic exotic" weapons from the demons, or at least some exotic alt-fires. Something that turns the floor into ice would probably be nice.

Even if that were the case, somehow I don't think the Doom Slayer would be one to [sp]talk to the demons. Outside of some primal growl before he makes them explode as if he were punching a chocolate rabbit.[/sp]
[sp]they've already got all the setup of the UAC using demons for research and shit, it's reasonable to assume they could be enemies in a script where the uac is the bad guy[/sp]

Is this photo just a great coincidence, or can Barons actually grab Imps while infighting?
I also wish infighting was easier to trigger in this game.

I haven't followed the DLC shenanigans for Doom as I kind of stopped playing before the first DLC came out, but aren't these packs super unfair and practically pay-to-win considering you literally unlock unique weapons in multiplayer? Seems like a real dick-move to me.

Not necessarily. The Harvester demon's kinda overpowered thanks to its ranged attacks with no delay but all the demons are pretty OP anyway, and the Pistol is a fairly balanced weapon compared to the rocket and chaingun spam. It's mostly the free Hack Modules with a purchase that are questionable. And those are gone after you use them, forcing you to have to acquire them again manually when they run out. The Reaper being brand-new, I have no idea how powerful it is, but it looks pretty bland from the trailer attack-wise.
i never understand why do you have to put the camera inside the monster's mouth

I was thinking that too. I don't imagine the demon is more OP than what they already are, which is kind of the point. And I was worried when I saw the pistol and equipment being DLC, but now when they revealed this, it just kind of screams meh to me. The Reaper seems to be homing, and equipment that allows you to see through walls (even if there's a module for it already) just seems like an unfair advantage.
The new armors are fucking baller though.

Probably the same reason NS2 and some half life mods do it, because otherwise you have nothing on screen and it looks lame. The only other thing I can think of for the cacodemon's first person is his tiny dangly arms and that would look pretty weird in first person.
By the way, all the DLC 1 content is available in SnapMap, but not DLC 2. Does anybody know why?

The weapons you get are pretty skill based. The pistol's only really good if you can constantly land headshots. The new semi-auto weapon burns away ammo like you wouldn't believe and is also pretty inaccurate. The charge attack's pretty decent since it's perfectly accurate and travels really quickly but it has leaves you vulnerable while you charge and you have to land the shot perfectly. As for equipment the mine from the first DLC is only really good if your enemies are slow but the brief 'wall hacks' tool can be argued either way since it removes the lack of a lethal last resort attack.
The demons are mixed. The Harvester has low HP and can be easily overrun by a few marines making it a relative downgrade. You can make that argument for the Cacodemon though since it's tongue attack allows you to see enemies nearby within a short range, takes little time to charge/recharge, and has a really long range.

Probably will be updated later down the road
The pistol's only really good if you can constantly land headshots.
Surprisingly I've had a few killstreaks just by repeatedly plugging people with low-charged shots, often after surprising them with a full charge. I take a lot of damage in the process usually, though. It's not a pure reliance on accuracy, but someone who's got a sharp eye and good reflexes can be a real terror, which is neat for a pistol rather than it just being a useless weapon.
Some of those multiplayer maps look really cool, I hope we get stuff like that for the singleplayer in the next game

Very happy to see that the weird MSPaint hell baron the mod was using before is gone.
