Should have remade the Doom II prototype box art tbh
[t]https://virtuallyfun.superglobalmegacorp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/B4kngfjCMAE8t6n.jpg[/t]
That's a really cool concept for the box art actually, but it just should've been drawn so that Doomguy wasn't just Danny Elfman in a shitty Doomguy costume and the Cyberdemon wasn't a brown Pinky strapped with cyber-stuffs.
Brutal Doom 64 is pretty good. It seems like it's basically Ketchup gore with some extra effects. The levels look really nice too.
Actually, from what little I've played, I rather like it! I mean, it's not quite perfect (A lot of areas so far are rather bright, even with the lighting set to Dark) And the Revenants need a tad bit more work, but honestly? It's pretty fun so far.
Oh, and please stop saying Doom64 was scary. It's tense and stressful, not scary.
Also, nightmare imps are actually goddamn nightmarish, fuckers move deceptively fast.
I like it so far quite a bit, but the sounds bug me. Why did he use all these HQ sounds for weapons and gore, AND keep the originals? The quality difference from the guns compared to the music and monster sounds is jarring. I think it would've been better if he used all the original sounds and made new mixes for the gore effects using similar quality sounds.
I liked the intro, it reminded me of the demon battle in the menu in D64, but you played it. Except it felt a little weird going to the tense ambient first level from that one with such upbeat music
BD64 is rather nice and somewhat different from original Brutal Doom. (no "cruelty" bonuses, actual suspense and general spooky-ness and goddamn nightmare versions of pinkies and imps - now that is a nice touch)
My only complaint right now is bad bass balance. Minigun and moving platforms are fcuking thunderous compared to anything else.

I think it's possible to make your own sound mod - BD is pretty easily modified in that regard, unless something's changed there shouldn't be problems with making your own version.
I know, i just feel like i shouldn't have to.
But then again, at least it's not like regular brutal doom where half the sounds rape your ears.
The nightmare imps are pretty fucking cool

Blade of Agony: Chapter 1 releases in two weeks.
Get psyched.
I like this one the most. The slogan is kind of dumb, should have been just "hell's got no chance"
I like it for its cheesiness. It feels like something the original Doom games would have used in their advertising.
The ending to Brutal Doom 64, man.
[sp]Doomguy blows out the brains of the Mother Demon in poorly edited gib sprites, a swarm of demons barge in only to see Doomguy on her corpse, he dramatically cocks his shotgun while staring at them and the entire army of demons just hightails it in the opposite direction like it's fucking Looney Tunes.[/sp]
Also random Blood enemy edits shuffled in there for some reason.

Still a bit disappointed that Bethesda didn't go with this as the official boxart:

The cyberdemon is just cool as fuck and much better than "guy in suit of armor with shotgun" imo

Pretty sure it stops being a pinky when it's no longer pink. Clearly that's a brownie.
I don't know about you guys, but that guy doesn't exactly look like an elf, or a girl scout, or a fudgey square of baked goodness.
Getting frequent crashes, usually on loading screens first loading the game or first loading a save, once during gameplay on the codex screen. Anyone know what that's about?
I don't mean to sound like a shit here, but is there anyone who can give input on this?

I dunno about the girl scouts in your area but it's spot on for where I live.

That's a pretty good music to use for a trailer like this.

While the stylish upgrade menu getting the boot saddens me, it feels better and better with each update. It's a really neat way to make Doom a lot harder while keeping the gameplay what it is, and it actually compliments vanilla-compatible mapsets nicely (like the Brutal Doom 64, it actually mixes really well with the reverb and graphic effects).

Don't you fucking DARE spoil the cheats of the mod though, or the authors will personally come to your doorstep and piss on your dog.

I do that for fun.

I think this came out pretty good
Wait a minute, what the fuck happened to the Theater Mode from the old Alpha? I can't be the only one that remembers that, right?
Seriously, when I get free-time I'm gonna start cataloging all this shit so that I can get it all into some sort of cutting-room-floor style archive.
It was probably turned into photomode for SP.
Regardless, a Theater Mode where you could record your runs and then edit them and watch Doomguy running around would be fucking sick.
It'd actually work great for Arcade Mode.
a demo system for doom in general would be cool as fuck

Sounds are always subjective, though. I go through a lot of Doom mods and just swap sounds out myself, since I don't think I've ever played a mod where I liked every sound choice. You could actually probably just grab the PSXSounds wad and throw it over it to convert everything back to the original if you want.

This would be possible in a perfect world where Mark's coding wasn't always a fucking tangled spaghetti nightmare with random shit being needlessly renamed.
