d4d on maps of chaos is pretty fun solo, but jesus christ the opening for e1 m4 is hard to clear
Off the topic of Doom, I want more than anything else to see more Nazi pop music in the next Wolfenstein. The songs recorded for The New Order were great.

German Beatles and Nazi flag on the moon were the two things that really made me say "fuck you, Nazis" so yeah more of that. Because People have been really lacking on Nazi hate. Damn Nazis.
I love that Wolfenstein 3D on PS3 is 202MB (which for PS3 means a long download time), but most of that is just a trailer for Wolfesntein 2009.
If the game itself is the same size as the Steam install (4MB), then the game is only 2% of the download.

I do like how the description for the band speculates that the lyrics for the band are actually low-key anti-Nazi satire, which totally fits the personality of John Lennon and the rest of the Beatles. Hell, the lore behind the in-game records are just as great as the songs themselves. The New Order pulled off world building so incredibly well.

Of bloody course they wouldn't spew Nazi filth-lies.
You can already do that with decorate, you can have custom pain definitions that when a enemy gets hit by a certain projectile, it spawns another. Hell, you can go a step further and also have that enemy shot more of that enemy and so on and so forth. You can even force them to endlessly spawn another copy by use A_Jump right off the bat in the Spawn definition and going straight to whatever custom state you've set.
Plus, decorate is (at least from my understanding) a HELL of a lot easier to use than .con modding.
Someone should make a Lakitu.

Like I said before, I think it looks really fun. I'd get it just for the miniatures so I can paint them.

It's Fantasy Flight Games, so there's a chance that a single game will last about as long as the actual Doom 2016 Singleplayer playthrough.
How does the Z-Sec A.I. in Doom 3 compare to the HGrunts in HL1 and Combine Soldiers in HL2?
How does the Z-Sec A.I. in Doom 3 compare to the HGrunts in HL1 and Combine Soldiers in HL2?
I haven't played DOOM 3 in aeons now, but one of the only things I really remember was watching them run around in circles, bump into each other, and get caught on walls and crates.
How does the Z-Sec A.I. in Doom 3 compare to the HGrunts in HL1 and Combine Soldiers in HL2?
On one hand they understand the meaning of cover and can pop out from behind it to shoot you with proper animations. In weird circumstances, though, their pathing can be wonky and they may try to run past you for cover.
On the other hand since they're basically zombies with guns, they'll stand there taking fire to the face and have no sense of self-preservation. They also can't fire on the move last I remember (or if they did, they didn't do it often), meaning that if you catch them before they get to stop somewhere you can kill them before they even become a threat. They're way more accurate, though, which can be troublesome on harder difficulties, and unlike Half-Life 2, taking damage throws your aim off. They also don't understand squads, so they all act independently.
The Commandos were way more threatening with accurate chaingun fire and those fucking obnoxious whip tentacles you had to duck, but they're mid-to-late game so it makes sense.
They feel comparable to the HGrunts from HL1 but a little different in how they are fought and how their AI works. But they are the best comparison honestly.
Apparently this can be found in one of the DLC maps.

someone call doomguy
the numbers right there
But wait! If you look closely, you'll realize that's not a phone number at all! If you take 121-019-93 and remove the dashes, you get 12101993. If you add some forward slashes, you get 1/21/01993. If you realize you put the forward slashes in the wrong place and correct your error, you get 12/10/1993. Eureka! This number is actually a date! 12/10/1993 is December 10, 1993! And I think we all know what this is a commemoration of. It was a momentous day in which a true legend was shared with the masses, one that would forever doom the world as we know it.
That's right, it's JoeySalad's birthday! I'm glad Bethesda is paying tribute to the big man himself.
So, i was hanging out at the NewBlood's discord, and between some DUSK beta babble, the Mapper from the team uploaded a few old builds of the game.
I've decided to reup them and post here : https://mega.nz/#!hAsFiBhA!Dd875PubC5lmr25gDTElko0ArhmnwlBHSVfx2PBLYkg (Includes the test build from Box + 3 new ones)

A little bit of campaign, a bit of Doom 1 E1M2 thrown in, and a hint of doom 64 in there as well. Can be played standalone but meant to be played after quantum hazard - MQ6NU6PF

Honestly, with the low-res filters, that game looks pretty good.
Maybe not at the same level as Quake still, but it looks pretty nice.
Was that full one-level demo a press thing only? I'd actually like to try giving it a shot.
I've completed Unreal on Godlike and doing Return To Na Pali expansion now. Those Skaarj troopers are a pain to deal with. But in RTNP, the worst enemy you will encounter are [sp]human marines[/sp]
I think it's a damn shame that DOOM '16 multiplayer seems so sparsely populated right now. Sure, there are still loadouts, but I feel like it has improved a lot since the game's release, and the new content for it is awesome, especially the new modes.
Even so, it can hard to find DEATHMATCH lobbies at certain times.

ONS-Torlan is what defines UT2k4. In fact, many people bought UT2k4 just for Onslaught back then.
Man the original Shadow Warrior continues to blow me away, I finish the original campaign and went through wanton destruction, and now I'm working on Twin Dragon.
The grenade launcher is nuts.

The grenade launcher is the best shit once you learn that you don't get damaged if there is some kind of obstruction between you and the 'nade. It, pipebomb and tripmine are the 3 weapons I miss when playing Doom 1-2. It boils my blood when I know that I have to walk right in front of dozen chaingunners and sergants because the game lacks any indirect weapons beyond barrels.
Does anyone here like the movement-controlled grenade mechanic from HL1 or the priming-controlled grenade mechanic from Q2/D3? In HL1 I pretty much have to stand still to make sure my grenades doesn't hit a wall and blow up in my face (hence unsuitable in a firefight) while in Q2/D3 it's much harder to adjust the length of your throw because it'll just blow up in your face if you throw it too late (but most encounters in Doom 3 are close-ranged, so priming it for a second is enough).
While I prefer the Q2/D3 one over the HL1 one, I still think HL2's is still the best. M1 for long throw and M2 for short. It sucks that you can't prime it while holding down the fire key anymore, but that's what the Gravity Gun is for.
HL2 definitely had the smoothest grenade throws. In HL1 I felt like they didn't fly far enough, same for Doom 3. And generally in Doom 3 whatever you were fighting was in your face by the time you had it primed enough, so you'd just kill yourself. I think they would have been better off with a grenade launcher or an alt fire grenade for the RL.
