Is there any software that emulates the look of the old CRT TV's & Monitors? I wanna play tiberian sun that way but there's no software that works with the game, so i was wondering if theres a program that turns the entire screen into a CRT emulation?
Copyright issues. If they don't go after this, it opens the door for every chinese hack studio to call their next collection of ripped off assets "Doom _____" or "______ Doom".
So why haven't any Chinese hack studios called their next collection of ripped off assets "Doom _____" or "______ Doom" yet?
According to this reddit post, there will be an update next week that includes bots, the Praetor suit as an unlockable armor set for the new max level, and more: https://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/5g58to/bots_doom_armour_skin_next_week/
It's presumably the final pack, so it makes sense to put the armor and bots in at the last showing.
Well they said that they were going to support this game with at least a year of new content shortly after release, though I guess it's mostly just going to be SnapMap stuff since it looks like the third and final paid DLC is just around the corner.
Yeah, I suspect we'll get a bit more content for while longer. Another snap-map update, maybe another small campaign update, and by then; probably just the occasional small patches.
Just give us single player DLC already.
Fuck, please tell me the praetor is is snapmap too I need that helmet
The last SnapMap module set better be Earth. God, that would be incredible.

forgive me if this is obvious but i've had a quick glance over a couple sites and couldnt quite figure it out, but are the 'ancient sentinels' in doom 2016 actually medieval-type fantasy paladins or were they futuristic soldiers?
They're saving that for DOOM the IInd: Heck on Land
Doom II if by land, I if by sea?
Okay, so there's a conspiracy theory about an underground alien base in New Mexico and from briefly skimming over it a guy released what are supposed to be 30 photos as physical evidence. This is one of them. Tell me that's not a fucking Quake screenshot Here's the link but be prepared that it's NSFW

Their suits look like a mix of traditional armor with technology, and [sp]they presumably have advanced tech given that the Doom Marine is incredibly fluent and skilled with weapons and computer interfaces.[/sp]

Finally got around to playing D44M. Games is kinda great so far, though I've only done the first level. Already like how fast paced it is. Game also looks and runs great, I'm playing maxed out at 1080p with an i5 2500k, 8GB RAM, and an R9 390 and I'm pulling >120 FPS on Vulkan. I'm just beat the[sp]Cyberdemon[/sp]in Doom 4, which is my first Doom game by the way. This isn't just a good game. This is an experience. [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline] [sp]I was disappointed with how easily I beat him. Till he came back to life![/sp]

I know it has a CRT filter.

Going into Doom 4, I honestly wasn't expecting much in the way of boss fights, but in the end it delivered some pretty nice battles with big boy adversaries.
https://github.com/hgsz/retro_quake1 This is pretty cool. A shader to simulate the limited Quake color palette of the early days for DP, kinda like Qbism8 Lets you specify the res and the amount of color depth you want even. [t]http://fotos.subefotos.com/5d5dfed37dbd152dfb11822ff9d2fc3fo.jpg[/t] It's strange having 16-bit color and dynamic shadows [t]http://i.imgur.com/fnDd3Jd.jpg[/t]
I have something like that but for ReShade. It allows the same features, only i can use it on any game and select a palette from a whooping collection of 500+ palettes (downscaling the res makes stuff unreadable tho). I can also add Dithering and other stuffs (Like subsampling or changing the colorspace). [editline]3rd December 2016[/editline]
Have you tried ReShade? I know it has a CRT filter.
The one included by default with it isn't that nice (it replicates Arcade CRTs instead of old TV/PC ones). If you manage to get it running with dgVoodoo, you can use the CRT-Lottes port i did from RetroArch to ReShade. It only works with DX11 sadly.
Could you link the reshade config? 500+ palettes and dithering sounds like fun.

The worst part of Doom 4's bosses is watching people on Youtube do them. It's physically painful.
The developers were apparently big fans of character action games, and I think that influence both shows in and benefits the boss battles.
What's a character action game?
What's a character action game?
"Character action means it has mechanics and move lists similar to how fighting games work," or so says a quick Google look. Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Rising are good examples. God of War, too. In hindsight a lot of Doom 4 mechanics are pretty much the FPS version of God of War in certain ways, just no button-mashing QTEs.
