I'm glad they added back bots into the game. Not many players in my region :(
Shit, i'm in a pickle. I had DOOM on my SSD, but it only has 11.1 GB left. Now I can't back it up to my other drive because the update is here and it refuses to backup-and-restore when there's an update.
What in the fuck is this new main menu.
What in the fuck is this new main menu.
What new menu?
What new menu?
The main menu is entirely different. It's all these links to news and shit now.
The main menu is entirely different. It's all these links to news and shit now.
I can't get in until I figure out a backup method to my other drive, but i'm pretty sure the menu's been like that since the first major MP/Snapmap update months ago.

Seems like that new update removed Denuvo from the game. Can anyone test the performance?
Seems like that new update removed Denuvo from the game. Can anyone test the performance?
The same as it always was on my Phenom X4 955 and GTX1060. Which is Ultra settings with Nightmare textures at 60FPS or above on Vulkan. Real talk, I can't speak for everyone but I think this Denuvo scare needs to slow down. I can only speak for myself and some people I know but every single Denuvo game has ran just fine. [editline]7th December 2016[/editline] I will also state this is a very GPU hungry game, I have to find the video by jayztwocents but he ran this on ultra I believe on some shitbox budget AMD cpu all because he had a good graphics card put into the system. I ran minimum with console tweaks to look like mud at 800x600 on my GTX460 and I still had lots of performance issues. [EDIT] FOUND IT
Also I was right about the armor bro, one piece suit and no customization.
While I do hope they allow us to change the details and customization on it later, one piece doesn't bother me too much. I hate most of the rest of the armors anyway.
...Did id just add Quake 1's DM4 as a SnapMap module?! Even has the teleporters. If I'm not mistaken, this module is a recreaton of that entire map.
Just crashed the game for the first time ever by loading a map full of nothing but UAC Spokespeople and Revenants.
Just crashed the game for the first time ever by loading a map full of nothing but UAC Spokespeople and Revenants.
Marphy's attempts to have a satanist workplace map seem to be going well
uac spokespeople what can you spawn the hologram guys now??
Just 11Gb of MP Praetor Suit and some stuff for snapmap. I need to stop being optimistic about every big updates.
Why the hell is this 12gb :v:
To Mac/Linux users: Now that Denuvo was removed from the game, there is a high possibility that the game can be ran on Wine, could someone try? Steam decided to reboot my download for reasons beyond my understanding
Fucking finally, got everything sorted out sorta. So since Steam refused to backup and restore my Doom download due to the update, I had to finagle a bit with things. Took me two hours and some help on Steam discussions but I copied the folder to the HDD from my SSD, deleted local game content, put the game folder in the steamapps/common and started a new download. It recognized the previous install and then, for some obstinately retarded reason, stripped the files out of the folder and put them in some download folder on the side while starting a new install. Maybe if it got far enough to cover the patch it would've auto-detected and finished off of those files, but fuck that noise; I just paused the download, exited Steam, grabbed the pre-existing files, tossed them into the pre-existing folder again, and started Steam and the download once more and it worked. The fact that I had to go through all of this just to move a game across different drives due to an update is fucking retarded.

[editline]7th December 2016[/editline]
Seems like that new update removed Denuvo from the game.
It apparently worked fine when the free trial was released without Denuvo.
But the free trial ALSO had (and it seems that it still have) Denuvo. Are you talking about the MP Alpha that leaked ages ago that didn't had Denuvo?

Since hope for modding support is pretty much filed down by this point, as you say, it'd take a while for anyone to potentially fuck over their DLC sales.

[editline]7th December 2016[/editline]
If they legitimately removed Denuvo, then maybe it was just to make sure no one started making maps and stuff outside of SnapMap while DLC packs were still running. Since hope for modding support is pretty much filed down by this point, as you say, it'd take a while for anyone to potentially fuck over their DLC sales.
Some are suggesting that apparently Denuvo makes deals with publishers that's basically a guarantee: If your game is cracked within x amount of time (supposedly 3 months by default), you get your money back. But if you take up this offer, you must remove Denuvo from your product. Some are suggesting that because Doom was cracked, they got their money back but had to take the DRM off. The crack was published after 3 months passed, but some are also suggesting their deal with Bethesda was for longer. This is all idle speculation on some Reddit posts though so I'd recommend a heavy dose of salt with all of this.
:snip:
Why the hell is this 12gb :v:
Probably due to file structure/compression stuff, they likely can't actually patch in the changes and may have to replace whole data file sets due to how the engine stores stuff.
i tried to record a video with obs in doom to showcase a funny meme that just happened in snapmap but all it recorded was a stillframe from when i tabbed out i started obs studio as administrator too :(
