No shit, I hate how their screams doesn't stop when they're dead, leaving me paranoid over whether or not I missed one or more.
They're devastating on Nightmare which is why I always preferred to snipe down pre-spawns with a charged pistol shot before moving into an area.

A lot of big companies use royalty-free sounds, despite having the means to produce them. IIRC HL2 has stock sounds which even retain their metadata which display the original filenames from when they were acquired.
Any tips to sprite editing? Kinda want to modify some existing sprites for a little enemy variety.

I really hope people start digging up the unused/cut stuff from this game in the next few years.
It seems like one of those games with lots of interesting unused content.
I mean, we already have some really interesting stuff that didn't make it, like the 7 or so BFG Mods from the Alpha, none of which made it into the game, even though I'm pretty sure you actually see one of these on display in the BFG testing labs.
Also the fact that there was an entire level called BFG Division, most likely centered around those weapon mods, that is nowhere to be seen.
Also all of the code for the Archvile, and even his ability to resurrect enemies is floating around in there, and the Spider Mastermind actually has code for the ability to walk on the ceiling.
Not to mention stuff cut from MP, like the remake of the Quake 1 Nailgun you can find if you open it in DoomExtract.
I wish the demon spawning effect looked better. The one from Doom 3 was way better imo

Not to mention, I've noticed the Possessed Soldiers have the same death sound effects that the Zombies in Dead Island use. It's mostly the death sounds at a slightly different pitch.

I thought [sp]the miles of processing units and shit was only so Vega could power up the entire facility on his own. Other than that it doesn't take much for his AI? I dunno I didn't pay much attention to it[/sp]
From what I remember reading IIRC [sp] VEGA was used in a Turing Test somewhere on earth - playing both itself and a Professor of some sort - so that shit has to be portable somehow [/sp]
