Wow, Nightmare difficulty actually gets really fun after the initial hurdle. I can't believe I'm still playing this fucking game. This is my fifth playthrough and I don't feel tired of it yet.
I updated my deathmatch map again to try and fix a few more bugs. Also added colored lights and such to each of the four stairwells to make it harder to get lost.

If you look closely, the MooM SlayalS armour has a face- nay, TWO faces on it. There's some sort of six-eyed Hive Demon on his abdomen, and a tree frog head on his chest. And as an added bonus, his tiny head is like an Illuminati pyramid. This is just getting crazier the more you look at it!
Don't forget the two fish on his shoulders vomiting violently at the sight of the tiny illuminati pyramid
DOOD and MOOM truly make for pure symbolic interpretational art.

this is art ok
this is art ok
Prefer this over the inferior "Toot" version
Someone needs to make that into a mod.
Finally got around to finishing Jumping Flash. Despite going full bullet hell, I found the final boss a lot easier than the sub-boss right before it. [editline]29th May 2016[/editline] Dat music tho
Is there a Chocolate Doom of Quake source ports?
Yeah, Quake. It should run just fine on modern hardware. There's also Quakespasm which is basically Quake with bugfixes. There's also DirectQ and Fitzquake, which are for DirectX and OpenGL.
I like how the ledges in this game are marked with green lights, it's just convenient
Doom '16 is convenient.

I like that Doom makes you look up and down. I tried watching the Game Grumps play through, they missed the Shotgun twice.
I like that Doom makes you look up and down. I tried watching the Game Grumps play through, they missed the Shotgun twice.
I saw it in recommended so I decided to give it a look since I haven't watched anything Game Grumps in a year or two at this point. They try to hit buttons to open up the door the shotgun's at, see it glowing yet look past it, backtrack when they can't progress, go up to the door to mash again, then back up and see the shotgun and realize they're supposed to grab it. I couldn't watch anymore after that.
I like that Doom makes you look up and down. I tried watching the Game Grumps play through, they missed the Shotgun twice.
There seems to be a disturbing amount of gamers who aren't able to process the existence of a z-axis.

Its a shame because I like Dan and when I saw that they were playing Doom and that Dan was playing it I thought about giving that series a watch, but if they're that bad I might not.

i'm still wondering what do people use to record doom footage, obs made the game crash, raptr is not functioning

I'm convinced that something happens while LPers record. Of course, not all. I've seen some fucking amazing LPers and Streamers, but it seems like a certain handful of them just lose half of their motor functions while doing a show. I guess it's up to how good you are with multitasking, being good at the game, and talking at the same time.
Also, there seems to be a mysterious driver issue that renders power-ups invisible to anyone using streaming software.
I've been watching Vinny's streams of the game, and he walked past the first Berserk about five times, then went up to it, and thought it was a glitched fireball particle effect, and left it again. He never would've picked it up unless the chat told him. He's been pretty good with the game otherwise though, and I can't entirely fault him for thinking it was a glitched particle effect since he already encountered a massive fucking glitch earlier in the stream.
There seems to be a disturbing amount of gamers who aren't able to process the existence of a z-axis.
To be fair, A lot of modern games don't really do that sort of thing any more. I missed so much stuff on my first play-through of the new DOOM, stuff that made me feel incredibly stupid when I ran around a second time, simply because more recent games subconsciously discouraged me from even looking for alternative paths or secrets. It's been kind of drummed into me that unless you are playing a stealth game, looking up just means you aren't aiming where baddies are coming from, there's nothing behind that crate, and that little ledge probably doesn't lead anywhere.
