The best way to bring back Duke is to make him old and washed up, with nobody in-universe thinking he's cool anymore, so he has to adapt to the times and re-earn his cool status.
Considering Forever practically makes fun of its own development hell at the beginning, I don't think the next Duke game could just move on and pretend Forever's infamous reputation never happened, but who knows? It was like Sonic '06 for Duke with 12 years ontop, so the fans and gamers won't ever let him live it down, that's for sure.
Thanks a ton, that's amazing!
The only change I could think of is green eyes, if that's okay, but it's understandable since almost all promotional art uses an earlier model with red eyes.
Yeah, I haven't played the newest DOOM so I was going off of the old promotional stuff. I'll edit the post momentarily with the new ones.
EDIT:
Done.
Does anybody know if Weapons of Rebellion and other Strife mods work in Strife Veteran Edition? Or would I have to run them in GZDoom?
DOOM 3/4 Hell Knight I'm assuming? I'll get right on it, no problem.
I think I'll stop shitting up the thread with this stuff, but feel free to PM me or even quote me in this thread and ask there. I check there quite often as well.
Yeah the 3/4 Hell Knight. Will you post it here, PM, or in the other thread?
Sgt mark can suck it he brought a lot of shit into the doom community
I'm not really interested in modding drama. All I know is that there are lots of mods I like and his are some of them.
Project Brutally is probably my favorite version of brutal doom. Once I learned you can slide kick and air dash, that pretty much sold it to me. Smooth Doom is my goto mod though.

Thanks pal.
It'd be fucking awesome.
But knowing that Gearbox will never, *ever* give Duke the "Doom '16 treatment", makes me a sad panda :(
I still think Serious Sam 3 is the best attempt to modernize an old-style meatgrinder fps.
I still think Serious Sam 3 is the best attempt to modernize an old-style meatgrinder fps.
Duke and Serious Sam are two totally different styles though, Sam's always been about big arenas and dealing with massive waves of monsters, Duke 3D was a little bit more like classic doom, just with more interactivity in the levels.
I still think Serious Sam 3 is the best attempt to modernize an old-style meatgrinder fps.
Honestly, Serious Sam is very removed from every other old-school style shooter. Beyond reloads and a couple of ironsights, both of which are kind of pointless changes overall, it's still Serious Sam unchanged aside from physics variables. But the 'kill shittons of enemies in massive hordes' is wildly different from most other games, including Doom '16 and the Shadow Warrior reboot. Plus I still give SS3 shit for the fact that the first half of the game has molasses for pacing.
Sam 3 in general didn't set right with me, with its higher focus on conventional weapons and overabundance of hitscanners, the new enemies are all really, really annoying to fight too, especially that physic enemy that lifts you up and locks your controls up, and I thought the archviles were a pain in the ass.
I thought it was an overall solid game with blemishes. Game only really picks up in second act though.
Thise fucking monkeys tho
But back then in 2011 it was such a breath of fresh air. I hope with SS4 they will fix all mistakes that they did in 3.
But BFE was going to be an entirely different game. Some dumbass publisher wanted them to make yet another hyperrealistic desert shooter but eventually pulled out when Croteam already spent lots of time and money into a lot of assets. Most of the weapons exist because of it. The urban levels are kind of obvious, and to be fair, I think Croteam did the best they could after having been fucked so bad by that jackass publisher.
[editline]1st June 2016[/editline]
Im just saying it could have missed as hard as Forever but it didnt because Croteam know what Serious Sam is supposed to be.
[editline]1st June 2016[/editline]
I deliberaly leave SS2 out of this statement because what their vision was with that game, I have no idea. I thino I read somewhere that Croteam were happy with the weirdass humor.
Fate Of The Damned from Blood, Yoshi Island style, i think it came out pretty well
It'll be featured in one of Golden Souls 2's forest levels

Really getting tired of enemies playing Assassins Creed with me.
Stop jumping away and attack me already, you demonic fuck...
nah, doom definitely did better
serious sam 3's maps didnt even fit the playstyle for the most part and you know it and they never shied away from that fact either since it was for a completely different game back in 2006
not to mention the first 2/3rds of the game were just hitscan enemies in corridors and sometimes in dark corridors

They're afraid of you. You are going to kill them after all.

i got the MG, both SG mods and the CS
also, 50 max armor?
Holy shit the rune that gives you a second chance slows down time, FEAR-style. I gotta replay the game with this shit.

You need to be collecting the argent energy cells. They allow you to upgrade Armor, Health, Ammo.
also fuck the shotgun guys with shields
there's a reason they only had 30 health and no shield
and why didn't anyone tell me there are headshots?

First one's free, the others you need to search around for. It's worth getting the map upgrade thing for if you don't want to use a guide and it's your first play through.

if you're seeing the ammo then the gun is on the level somewhere
