Seriously, I am really confused about these Overwatch comparisons. Is Overwatch going to be the new Dark Souls? Is "it's difficult just like Dark Souls" now "it has classes just like Overwatch"?
If another person says the game is shit because of baseless assumptions built on a vague use of "Class Based", I'm going to go fucking ballistic.
WOAH, what if DOOM '16 guy is in Quake Champions? Doomguy's been in every other Quake arena game. That would be cool as fuck.
That would be cool as fuck. Also IIRC he was only in Quake 3 and Quake Live, which was Quake 3.

Each individual character has a unique ability. but other than that they're all the same and use the same set of weapons.
how much do you want to bet id's stubbornness against removing load-outs will carry over to Quake?
I'm not gonna say its shit, it may be fantastic. Buuuuuut, on a base level its not the kind of game I wanted out of modern Quake soley on the fact its based on multiplayer focused Quakes as opposed to 1. I'll view it as its own thing but man it stings.
So, any guess what New Colossus is? Next Wolf game? Comes before Doom and after Old Blood
The New Collossus is a famous sonnet engraved at the base of the Statue of Liberty. It's also quoted at the end of The New Order, so... Also, looks like Saber Interactive are involved with the new Quake. BOY do they have a mixed gameography...
The New Collossus is a famous sonnet engraved at the base of the Statue of Liberty. It's also quoted at the end of The New Order, so... .
Interesting!
I'm trying to play original Quake right now. I have the game on CD, and I got it installed using DOS Box, but for some reason it won't play the music. Any fixes for this? Also, is there any way to play the game at a higher resolution without making the HUD bar super small?
Also, looks like Saber Interactive are involved with the new Quake. BOY do they have a mixed gameography...
Why the hell does Id and Bethesda keep hiring these types of people for outsource work?
so new wolfy in america or german district # whatever?
The Nazi's nuked New York in the backstory, maybe we'll be visiting a rebuilt New York. Probably used their super secret tech to remove the radiation.
Hey, at least we aren't getting another Strogg Quake.
damn all they've made is poor to mediocre FPS/TPS and halo remakes why does bethesda feel the need to just throw their IPs away like this?
damn all they've made is poor to mediocre FPS/TPS and halo remakes why does bethesda feel the need to just throw their IPs away like this?
Doom and Wolfenstein are in good hands at least.
So I missed the E3 stuff on Doom 2016, can someone give me a quick recap of what's coming in updates? Or a video link or something.
So I missed the E3 stuff on Doom 2016, can someone give me a quick recap of what's coming in updates? Or a video link or something.
New Snapmap stuff like hell assets and the ability to make singleplayer maps, new multiplayer maps, a classic deathmatch mode, VR support, and a limited time singleplayer demo.
So I missed the E3 stuff on Doom 2016, can someone give me a quick recap of what's coming in updates? Or a video link or something.
Snapmap updates, hell themed level set, more logic triggers and such, outdoor windows, etc. and DLC with a map pack, new demon, new weapon, taunts, etc. :ninja:
Also all Snap-map updates will be free
There is nothing about these updates I don't like. Can't wait.
when's that demo gonna hit?
when's that demo gonna hit?
judging by the steam store page, it's already here
when's that demo gonna hit?
steam://install/479030
The demo is on the Steam page right now.
Quake creates Team Fortress > Team Fortress inspires Overwatch > Overwatch inspires Quake It all comes full circle.
Quake creates Team Fortress > Team Fortress inspires Overwatch > Overwatch inspires Quake It all comes full circle.
Honestly a lot of my apprehension would die down if it turns out to be more than just "class-based quake 3". Fuck loadouts from Live, though; the trailer didn't seem to indicate loadouts but unfortunately a Champion-based system already gives me the idea that it'll return.

Also just noticed Doom '16 is called Doom4^H on that. Anyone know what the ^H is about?
Also just noticed Doom '16 is called Doom4^H on that. Anyone know what the ^H is about?
That's an inside joke about DOS and CMDline stuff, where you delete something, and you hide the folder that it's from (i think?). Then it shows that ^H Giantbomb caught that joke on their post BE3 show. It's a joke on how DOOM 4 was traashed and nuDOOM came out of the ashes.

So yeah, it doesn't look like each character is going to be locked to a specific loadout and it seems like you're going to be able to pick up different weapons just like in Quake 3, so there's that, at least.
You may not need to worry about loadouts.
