can someone help me out, I don't own doom so I've no idea if this appears in the game, but I mind hearing a modern variant of the doom 3 theme in one of the trailers, is this in game? and if so is someone able to link me the full track if it exists? cheers
Yes, I don't remember the track name, someone might be able to help you
Yes, I don't remember the track name, someone might be able to help you
Is it BFG Division? Cause thats the one people keep referring to
My feelings about Quake Champions are mixed. I don't explicitly hate it, but my hopes for a sp Quake were very quickly thrown through the roof and came crashing down really quickly. We've gotten a new Wolf and Doom, so a new Quake seemed obvious. Then Bethesda's first thing for the conference was to give us the DOS tease, and it all looked like Quake. Saw the Ranger and got hyped, then I saw a monster idk what it was, I figure "hey it's a reboot give it a chance", then I see some girl, co op maybe? Then it finishes out and its Quake Champions. I felt incredibly led on.
Honestly I'm pretty hyped that classic deathmatch and CTF are coming to MP, esp. classic DM. I quite like the MP maps themselves even if the actual MP was balanced the way it is, and having classic DM will probably bring back a lot of AFPS fun and be good especially for friends. Plus weapon wheel, jump pads, and hell tilesets means custom DM maps in snapmap will be a lot more interesting, now i just hope they up the player count to at least 8 so we can actually have decent CTF matches.
Isn't the Classic DM part of the Season Pass DLC? [editline]13th June 2016[/editline] Oh, woops, the Demon and the new Gun are part of the DLC.
Doom is getting Vulkan support.
First Quake: Champions, then Serious Sam VR. Time to hang myself.

all I wanted was a remake/reboot of Quake 1ish or Quake 2ish but if we get new news on Wolfy this QuakeCon I will be happy

Just started downloading Doom today on my 2mb connection. Gonna really enjoy playing it on Saturday.
I feel like I'm in bizarro Facepunch or something. I've never seen such instant negativity towards something like this. We were even one of the only places optimistic towards DOOM back then. I thought better of you guys.
Except DOOM didn't look like a total piece of shit when they first showed it.
Just started downloading Doom today on my 2mb connection. Gonna really enjoy playing it on Saturday.
But Doom is barely 12mb you don't need that much of a speed to download it. :smug:
Except DOOM didn't look like a total piece of shit when they first showed it.
But this is a cinematic trailer god DAMN. DOOM's first trailer was cinematic too, and there was literally no telling what the game would be like at that point. I'm going to say it again: You can't properly judge until you see the game itself in action.
Except the first DOOM cinematic trailer/teaser they showed didn't look like a total piece of shit.
Huh? The trailer looked alright, the negativity comes from it being class/hero based, which wasn't even mentioned in the trailer itself
Oh no, they're not making the exact game they made 17 years ago
Well they should have. I have exact same problem with HOMM.
I feel like I'm in bizarro Facepunch or something. I've never seen such instant negativity towards something like this.
lolwat Instant negativity has always been a Facepunch hallmark.
Except DOOM didn't look like a total piece of shit when they first showed it.
...yes it did? Well, at least I thought so. The muddy visuals and the mind-numbingly slow gameplay demonstration killed all the interest I had in the game at the time.

Not a 1 minute cg trailer :v: I get why people are upset but jesus wait until there's more to go on than a cg trailer and some blurbs.
Would you guys recommend I pick up Quake 3 on Steam? I've got a hankering for some arena FPS now, and as someone who's [sp]only played Quake Live[/sp], I'm a bit curious. Also I'm apparently never allowed to play Quake Live again thanks to Steam. I'm just worried that Quake 3 will be too dead to get much gameplay out of it..
Quake 3 and Quake Live are the same game., and it's like $10 on steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/282440/
I was a little bit disappointed when they said Quake:Champions has unique characters with different abilities and then I remembered Unreal Championship. What if id is adapting the Unreal Championship formula? It works in an Arena FPS setting and it could attract a new playerbase.
I'd honestly rather have an Unreal Championship 3, at least then it wouldn't be the first in the spinoff games of an Arena Shooter, they can get away with making something like Quake: Champions in the early 2000s as most people would probably accept it then, whereas now, people are basically just too set in stone to move from their Arena shooter play style and accept what this new Quake is going to be. I don't mind it myself, but alot of people I can see, they're not interested and are just put off by it.
Quake 3 and Quake Live are the same game
Please, don't say dirty lies.
This is just a new level of shitposting.
To be fair, I don't think Quake's cinematic trailer was particularly compelling. Doom's cinematic trailer managed to give you a sense that something really big was in store, and that it was really cool. Quake's didn't really convey much other than it was a Quake game and you shoot stuff. It was kind of hard to tell what was even going on for most of it.
The muddy visuals and the mind-numbingly slow gameplay demonstration killed all the interest I had in the game at the time.
That's what we call an E3 Presentation, honey. A bunch of developers put together some shit that only partly resembles the final project, and flex their dicks by slowly looking around at the environments on screen, basically trying to say "HEY LOOK AT HOW PRETTY THIS LOOKS DO YOU SEE THIS WE MADE THIS LOOK AT THE PRETTY GRAPHICS". That's how E3 has been for the past 15 years. [editline]13th June 2016[/editline]
Quake's didn't really convey much other than it was a Quake game and you shoot stuff. It was kind of hard to tell what was even going on for most of it.
It was also really dark for some reason. Probably because whoever was putting the trailer together was too lazy to model a full environment, but whatever.
Except DOOM didn't look like a total piece of shit when they first showed it.
Neither did the Quake trailer particularly, but it's pretty fuckin' arbitrary anyway, so whatever. I don't blame you for being upset about the possibility of the game being too much like Overwatch, but I feel that the trailer itself was fine/okay if not vague and confusing at worst.
The trailer seemed to imply you can pick up dropped weapons from dead enemies
