So, got the game during the steam sale for $35. Also recently upgraded new parts besides my 750 ti. Trying to run this game on a I7 6700k and 16gb ram.
All parts about 3 weeks old and I cant run the game at all. I'll load up the first level on low settings and start hitting about 10 fps.
Is this due to my GPU? I also have this game on my SSD.
someone please help i want to kick some ass too :cry:

So, I finally made a building in SnapMap out of Player Blocking Volumes, only to find out that enemies can just walk through them.
Now I have to line the walls and floors with props and shit so I can get proper clipping. It would be nice if the volumes blocked enemies as well.

The 750 ti is definitely the bottleneck with those specs, but it shouldn't be running that bad, looking at benchmarks you should be getting 30-40 fps. You're on the latest drivers right?

They should ditch the premade rooms for the most part and replace them with empty rooms you can put your own catwalks in

SnapMap's AI paths are fucking garbage. Demons can't even follow a basic path without veering off into a wall and stopping dead in their tracks.

It's also all or nothing when it comes to making them break off the path to go into combat, if you allow them to do so they will completely break from the path and then just wander around aimlessly if they spot someone and then that person gets killed or goes away. Meanwhile if you make them not break from the path they'll follow that path without retaliating even if you stand in their way while shooting them in the face.

I don't get it. He says the game "forces" you to look at the flavor text, and at the end he says the solution is to just ignore it, which wouldn't be possible of the first thing he said was true. Why did he even complain that much about it? It's easily the most avoidable thing in the game.
I do agree with what he said regarding the secrets though.

i dont know, i did my nightmare run without much slow down because i knew how to get said secrets. plus the character upgrades are much more useless than the gun ones and the gun ones are given to you for piss easy challenges.
In the end ammo upgrades just mean less time between chainsaw usage once you get it, and health and armor upgrades do increase longevity but on higher difficulty levels it's only so much when you take more damage and your enemies aren't dumb as a brick. But honestly, while I usually like SBH's reviews and retrospectives or such, he really dropped the ball with Doom. Each of the weapons fill different niche roles, it's less about damage output and 'player preference' (although the Super Shotgun and Rocket Launcher or HMG's Micro Missiles still tear ass so long as hits are direct) and more about how efficient they are for the situation and enemy. And the game's not "telling you to read our lore", I don't get how a feature like this that's been in games for years now is still seen as forcefully imploring anyone to go read flavor text.
I wonder how viable it is to do a nightmare run of the entire game using only the double barrel
once i got the two shot per reload upgrade i used the super shotgun almost exclusively

First half of video: This game is awesome and I love it.
2nd half of video: I am hoarder and here is my admission. Also, I know that if I just ignore the stuff I'll flat out enjoy the game more. But because it is there I must have and so the game has pacing issues. (kindly ignore my inability to ignore stuff and continue the game. I GOTTA GET THAT TRINKET YO.)

Really tho, even after watching a few playthroughs, you don't really need more than 60% of the weapon points to get the masteries of your favorite mod. You can basically ignore most of them, since you'll be literally swimming in the weapon points anyway.

so my GZDoom broke and refused to play sound so I had to delete it and reinstall it and now for some reason vertical look feels really weird. I remember another sourceport having vertical look like this but when I first got GZdoom it didnt. Is this an option I change or something? I dont know how to describe what I mean, but it just feels off.
