Lots of quake 1 code and parts of quake 2's renderer code, crunched together with custom code. You can still find bits of quake 1 in the Source Engine today.

Just beat the new Doom on Nightmare.
I'm really wondering what kind of masochists would play on Ultra-Nightmare. While the Nightmare run wasn't too bad, there were a lot of instances of me dying over and over again, for some reason the part just after you get on the train on the penultimate level had me trying for something like 45 minutes. Getting all the way to the end of the game, dying, and then having to start from scratch sounds like it would be infuriating.
On a side note, the increased distance for glory kills rune is actually a lot better than you'd think. The second tier of it (which is very easy to get, 75 glory kills is nothing) lets you glory kill from ages away, and what's more, the increased distance applies to both the chainsaw and the berserk rune. Observe.

It makes berserk runes possibly the most valuable, competing with probably the quad damage if you use it with something like the tri-barrel for the minigun.

It's a shame with how skewed glory kill designs are towards imps and zombies. All the different directional based stuff falls flat when everything with the cacodemon involved you punching its eye.
they didn't get any milage out of cacodemons having arms
also pinky glory kills: pull out tooth, stab with tooth
though i like the berserk vs hellknight one, the not-quite-mortal-kombat one
I can't seem to do it consistently, but you can actually shoot out a Cacodemons eye which will cause them to shoot blindly then explode.
Well, it's better than the one glory kill for the Mancubus.
I really wanted a Cacodemon glory kill where you launch yourself into it's mouth, and punch through the other side, leaving a massive fucking hole in it.
I just hope they add new ones/more for any DLC or sequels.
Did they up the volume of some of the weapon sounds this patch? I feel like the SSG, HAR, and plasma all sound much better. My friend mentioned it too.

I feel like a lot of the game's sound mixing needs help.
When you get into the action all the sounds kind of blur and mush together.
Action drowns out music, guns drown out action, music drowns out guns.
It fluctuates in and out, and it's really a shame because the sound design is so good.

I don't get it, what are you doing?
If you tap the alt fire and then let go with the rocket burst and tap fire, it fires 3 regular rockets instead of those mini ones in rapid succession.
You don't even have to wait for the full lock on if you time it right, which means you can just use it to fire 3 rockets in a row at a higher ROF than the primary fire and the regular lock on

Still working. Probably gonna be 12-13 map set after all. At least I have themes now.
5 maps done, 1 half-way done, 1 wip, and rest have sorta themes.
Hopefully DKC3 music won't feel out-of-place. I think Nuts&Bolts will work well for this.

Despite what people say about Invisible War, I actually really enjoyed it, that being said however, I've never played the original.
I bastardized Killing Floor and zombies into a SnapMap map. Supports scaling for 1+ players, please give it a bash! I have sunk a decent 18+ hours into the logic for it.
If you can get more than one person playing it, please do as I haven't been able to test it with more than one player (however it should be OK)
