I dunno about that, my man. The track record is looking pretty grim in that regard. After all, Quake has been a full time F2P franchise for about a decade now. It all began 10 years ago when they took Quake 3 Arena and turned it into a F2P title. And after that, they took Quake Wars and turned it into a F2P title.

In fact, it's hard to remember a time when Quake wasn't a F2P franchise!
Jesus christ that was horrible.

There's nothing more Korean in this world than ONLINE GAME FRANCHISE: ONLINE.

Seriously, these aren't memorable to you?
not really, no
hard-pounding riffs aren't really recognisable; the only one that sticks is BFG Division, simply because it sounds like a rip-off of Marilyn Mansons' Seizure of power

I'll be honest, other than the main theme, I don't remember any song from the new DOOM, they all just kinda blend together after a while

Mick Gordon is officially the new Bobby Prince.
remember
morrowind and oblivion were t
skyrim was m
Oblivion got re-rated to M.
I don't know how but I actually remember several songs from the OST.
Specific parts too.
The title screen music consistently sticks with me, I love those funky guitar riffs in the Foundry, BFG Division is really memorable, and Rip and Tear has that amazing, deep, guitar.
Also the ambient mix of Suspense is absolutely incredible. Never thought synth like that would blend so well with DOOM's atmosphere, but it does.
then again, it's kinda hard to compete with Slayer and Pantera songs
Oblivion got re-rated to M.
because of a hot-coffee esque technicality
because of a hot-coffee esque technicality
It was also because the game had more blood/gore than what Bethesda had shown the ESRB.
It was also because the game had more blood/gore than what Bethesda had shown the ESRB.
tbh it was more like the esrb trying to justify their m rating which up until that point, only had the nude stuff
morrowind had a similar amount of gore as well but that seemed to get off with a T
The ESRB are finicky. Halo 1 wasn't very gory in terms of violence dealt to others, but the moment they saw the Flood they immediately demanded the game be rated M for Mature. Or so the story goes.
While bored and half-depressed watching this video, I came to one amuzing realization: Half-Life's The Combine are basically the Strogg. Except they don't suck.
Hey man, I love the Strogg and their stylization. It's like Borg, but without the "Nanomachines!" bullshit.

Well, except when it's in an ad that has to deal with hypersensitive Asian ratings boards.
Can't wait for Overwatch Online to hit the no-standards Korean and Chinese F2P2W market a few years from now [sp]in an alternate universe where the game wasn't already a hit as a paid product in Korea and China[/sp].
Well, it's not like anyone is going to play that game, because you can totally get Quake: Enemy Territory from your local online store... right guys? Guys?
[sp]Why is QET off Steam store, anyway?[/sp]

Activision.
Hey, what happened to that bombshell prequel game on the build engine? Is that even still in development? All I remember about it was that screenshot someone posted a while ago.
[editline]27th July 2016[/editline]
ohh wait I guess it's a long way till its release apparently
But it'll probably still be better than the actual game was.
I never cared much about Bombshell, but what pisses me off about Interceptor is that they utterly destroyed the optimization on RoTT in a patch a bit after the Doomstick release. Just when it started running at a stable 30 fps for me. I can't even play it now, because it spends most of its time around 20 with dips down to 1 if I move too quickly.
oops I made another map.

So there's an Indie Serious Sam game in development some of you guys have probably heard about.
It's called "Serious Sam Bogus Detour" and it looks like it's shaping up to be quite awesome

the voices are uncannily close yet off
Hold up, that art style and slow movespeed.
This was made by the same guys that made Hammerwatch, and that game has some of the most annoying combat and level designs I've ever seen

There's even the one hit kill spike tiles. Unless they learned their lesson from Hammerwatch, this game is gonna be really annoying to go through
Got my gtx 1060 couple days ago, had to play DOOM on low with low FPS before then. But now i'm on max settings with 144 fps~ and it looks SO GOOD.

It seems a lot more 'balanced' than Hammerwatch at least, in terms of a top-down twin-stick style shooter kind of thing. But then Hammerwatch was meant to be a clusterfuck based around co-op from what I can tell. This looks like Serious Sam to me, besides the obnoxious mines everywhere.
the mines have me worried. I'm convinced the level designer has a fetish for bullshit traps and the levels in this serious sam game are gonna be full of them

So it's going to be just like the First and Second Encounter then? :v:
(In terms of bullshit traps)
Serious Sam secrets: don't bother
'secret +1 health found!'
AAA-BOOOM
I don't think i've ever completed any of the SS games, i really wanna play them again now you guys are talking about them haha

More like picking up a pill and getting a Major Biomech up your ass, and then some Kleers for good measure.
The Oasis level comes to mind.
[sp] And then you find a secret Minigun in the same room and the game fakes you out with false monster spawning noises [/sp]
