BFE has the best survival coop IMO. It lets you watch all cutscenes together and has the option for separate lives, instead of all players draining from the same pool. The shared life system is extremely annoying combined with the crusher traps in TSE. If a single guy keeps fucking up the entire team pays for it.
I started playing the new Doom and I got to the second level and my framerate tanked. its chuggy as shit when the first level was pretty smooth. Everything is already on medium or low. Is it just this level or am I going to have issues?
I have a GTX 750 Ti, so that explains it. That really fucking sucks that they haven't even acknowledge the issue when it breaks the game for so many people. There's no way I'm going to go through the trouble of reinstalling my drivers every single time I play the game, and the other method seems just outrageous enough that I'll have to try it. I'll get back to you with my results. Thanks a ton for the info though!
It worked for me too. Weirdest fix, but holy shit, it actually works

s-single player? please? i don't mind giving you money for it
I wouldn't mind a single player DLC like Ressurection of Evil or somesuch.
I wouldn't mind a single player DLC like Ressurection of Evil or somesuch.
I was thinking more Thy Flesh Consumed, something that can bridge the gap between this and a sequel.
The PS2 port of Soldier of Fortune feels almost like a homebrew port. The first cutscene of the second mission even has a console message appear that doesn't appear in the PC version AFAIK. The mouse support is pretty good if you don't mind mouse acceleration, and the multiplayer is good as long as you don't add bots that tank the framerate in splitscreen
Seems too soon for Single Player DLC.
Is it set in stone that the whole season pass/DLC is just MP based stuff? That always seemed part of their original mistake of focusing way too much on MP with their marketing, which ended up backfiring when the SP was better.
I wish snapmap was integrated better IMO. The potential for coop is there, but it's impossible to play with someone else in coop maps unless you play with friends who happen to have the game.
Is it set in stone that the whole season pass/DLC is just MP based stuff?
Yes
I just wish MP and snapmap were the same codebase. Aside from the matchmaking issues I have a feeling having to launch a separate mode for snapmap really damaged it for random multiplay
I would really like to know what maps are being played right now so I can join games that exist, instead of the current system of randomly being thrown into either a party with an AFK host or an empty lobby.
I'm honestly completely confused that they never decided "hey maybe a server browser for a custom map system would be a good idea". You're never going to find people playing anything but stuff that's super popular or new. I hope they at least add a server browser in an update.
Honestly, Snapmap was an idea that was great on paper, and still has potential if people take the time to figure it out like Bloodshot did, but the fact of the matter is that despite these updates and their obvious wish for it to live on, it's a novelty toolset for dicking around for a bit and seeing what the community has to offer; otherwise it's essentially just sort of there.
How out of touch are Bethesda? Surely they must realize that everyone wants single player DLC right? The single player was by far the highest rated part of this game so they must be making something.
Hold up, that art style and slow movespeed. This was made by the same guys that made Hammerwatch, and that game has some of the most annoying combat and level designs I've ever seen There's even the one hit kill spike tiles. Unless they learned their lesson from Hammerwatch, this game is gonna be really annoying to go through
i need this game in my life yesterday
So apparently there's going to be a new DOOM board game? https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/7/28/the-invasion-is-imminent-1/
Huh, that's pretty cool. I tried to get the Doom 3 board game in an auction, but missed it.
Honestly all I want from SnapMap at this point is the pistol and a better music creator. I realize the pistol sucks but it feels wrong starting with any of the other weapons. The only thing that kind of feels like a starting weapon is the Burst Rifle.

Why is the chainsaw not in snap map? And why can't we add in the bosses?
And why can't we add in the bosses?
IIRC they programmed the bosses with specific AI behaviors, so adding them to SnapMap would be problematic.
IIRC they programmed the bosses with specific AI behaviors, so adding them to SnapMap would be problematic.
There's a non scripted cyberdemon in the tower of Babel classic stage in single player. Though he's a pain in the ass to fight because all he does is walk towards you and rapid fire rockets
IIRC they programmed the bosses with specific AI behaviors, so adding them to SnapMap would be problematic.
They could always limit bosses to a handful of specific arenas built to accommodate them. I know these opinions are late but holy shit I love the level design of at least the first couple of levels. It honestly makes me hope (though I highly doubt this will happen) that the next Doom game has an almost Metroid Prime design, with hub areas and backtracking through previously completed levels with new abilities to get secrets and upgrades. I actually enjoy spending time looking around the level and figuring out how to get to secrets and stuff. I know I read that later levels get a little more linear, but at least the Foundry and Argent Facility were amazing.
I would love that too, though I'm sure if that were to happen it would get complaints for being too "confusing" or some shit Also I hope to fuck since the weapon wheel is in they removed "press E to pickup" in snapmap. That completely kills the flow and also makes it really hard to get floating weapons
