Great job on that model.
So is there already a mod that plays the yodel music every time you zoom in?
Fun fact, started this model out thinking the tentacles were at the back, now I'm pretty sure that they're its front.
I used to think the same about the mortar synth. It must be a Ted Backman thing.
Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?
Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?
Why don't you read and find out?
Pretty sure he was just saying Hi. People mentioned him earlier.
lol @ all the AGNMI kids voting my post as Dumb. Never change. Hi Sgt Stacker! I missed you, sweetheart! :x remember when I got you all to start calling us Pissing Inforgaytion and you all ran with it? Good times.
I'm pretty sure the only person to actually call it that was Lambda but ok
I forgot about that guy. Anyway, to everyone else who doesn't have a hate boner for MI, the wheels are once again starting to turn. More to come.
Why hate missing information? Just curious, I once played it years and years ago.
Why hate missing information? Just curious, I once played it years and years ago.
Because we aren't like some other leak groups who just serve as a hugbox and positive feedback echo chamber for each other. If one of us made something that looked like shit, we wouldn't be afraid to let them know. But because we offered the same criticism to other leak groups we were labelled as a bunch of assholes, and a narrative about us being a bunch of Nazis or something took on a life of its own. Sergeant Stacker used to be a prominent member of a forum whose sole purpose was hating on us instead of doing anything productive. They used to write fanfiction about infiltrating us and they would draw pictures of us with silly faces and try to stalk us over Facebook. It was exactly as pathetic as it sounds.
community drama dating back some years, some people don't like how they expected a full recreated storyline after downloading it, etc.
That's what's going to happen with my project, isn't it? Oh well.
That's what's going to happen with my project, isn't it? Oh well.
I know this is a controversial opinion around these parts, but I don't think the "leak storyline" as a cohesive and concrete narrative actually existed ever. You have all these isolated chapters that were competing with each other for relevance, and within those chapters you have many subsets of ideas that came and went until what was left was the retail HL2 storyline. I have spent years combing through the leaked files with a fine tooth comb trying to make sense of it all, and in the end I have come to the realization that the reason every leak mod has "failed" in the eyes of the public is because we are chasing a ghost of something that never really existed. This is why we focused our efforts on Borealis/Hpyerborea. And even then, we had two competing plots for the Borealis as evidenced by the different voiceovers for Odell, and we had to pick one over the other. And case in point, is the "leak storyline" that Odell was on the Borealis the whole time while it was under siege by Sacktick Pods, or is the "leak storyline" that Odell came with Gordon to find out what happened to Captain Johannson and find out "what the hell [they were] carrying"? Does the compound-eye monitor in c17_04 lead to the manhack arcade, or does it lead to Captain Vance's headquarters at the city walls? Or is Captain Vance in the Air Exchange? Is the Borealis at the start of the game, or do you go there after Air Exchange? Is the antagonist Dr. Breen, or is it the Consul? Every leak mod has run into these problems, and the reason nobody has been able to resolve it is because the task is insurmountable. This opinion has gotten me some flak in the past, probably because it casts doubt on this pie in the sky dream of a "complete HL2 beta story" that everyone aspires to play. The leak is just a collection of incomplete ideas, different drafts of chapters of an unfinished book. To make something concrete and linear out of it requires big revisions, filling in the blanks from scratch, and sacrificing some parts for others. This is why MI focused on just this one chapter, to see what this part would have looked like if it had survived. MI's Hyperborea chapter should be viewed as just one possible angle of the kaleidoscope that is the leak, and I think sticking with this model is the only way we can release more content that is up to our standards.

We do have a design document that outlines one episode based on maps from the mappack (with one or two missing, I believe) but as said there's a few holes we'd have to fill in. These days it serves as a design guide for how our Half-Life universe works with everything from NPCs, environment/atmosphere, weapons and a few locations that might be mentioned.

So are you implying that the MI team is shifting away from a full continuous plot to more of a fleshing out of the leak's big ideas like Hyperborea/Borealis and AirEx?

Lambda was, and still is, a complete and total moron, and I can guarantee you that us who broke off from AGNMI resent every second we believed his crap. Lambda is a fucking child who's mega butthurt from when pwnstick fucked up his little youtube channel. Don't put Lambda's shitty words and actions on Stacker or anyone else who ended up getting involved in Lambda's shit, we've moved on, you should too. Hell most of us were just there for the content, very few of us actually participated in the shit like photoshoping pictures of GabeN team members faces or that weird fanfiction thing. I mean yeah, we had sort of a hate circle jerk due to other bullshit pwnstick allegedly pulled and how most guys in the MI/GabeN team seemed to just tease content but then not release it. But all the really insane bullshittery was Lambda and Doomlord being total children. Again, do not put that on us. Also I am depressed that there are people still upset from that whole thing really. Let it go.

Wow I haven't seen that one before. There's actually one with my 15 year old face photoshopped onto a nazi because I told Lambda off. Like I said, Lambda is a fucking child.

Since there is so much obscurity in many aspects of the so-called "original" storyline (which, as you said, never likely existed in any complete form), it gives anyone who takes on the task of trying to recreate any part of it quite a bit of artistic/creative freedom to fill in the gaps and interpret what already exists. Speaking from experience, writing the story for the RtB mod took at least 2 years to iron out the basic material from the leak in a sensible manner, not even including filling in the gaps or adding in new content to make things more interesting. Still working on it to this day, albeit with much smaller, quicker edits. Good to hear that MI's not out of steam as well.
:snip: wrong thread

I was the one who started FarT^ and Pissing Inforgaytion, and I thought it was hilarious that Lambda (I thought his name was Poison Zombie? Memory fails me) began calling us that himself, not realizing I gave him the idea in the first place to mock how stupid he sounded. Also, tell me about your Guardians of the Galaxy fetish! I do enjoy seeing other interpretations that are actually interesting.

how many people still even use AGNMI or consider themselves apart of it?
how many people still even use AGNMI or consider themselves apart of it?
Lambda and Doomlord still jerk each other off on steam. The forums have been dead forever. Oh yeah Lmbda Core/Poisionzombie/whateverhisnameis as well as Doomlord are holocaust deniers and neonazis. So yeah, not only are they dumb but they're also really shitty human beings. OH AND when you'd get banned from AGNMI they'd put this comedy gold on your profile: top kek

Going through some old files from an unfinished MI update. This is the version of the prison yard that lines up with the depot map with the lighthouse. Most of the brushwork was missing from the original VMF, probably due to file corruption, so I tried to reconstruct the missing sections. Missing Information, get it?? Don't think I've seen anyone else attempt this map. Never finished the gameplay part of it, though.
I haven't been on the leak community for very long, about 1-2 years or so. Who was Lambda Core? Some kind of troll?
