From there the leak community began to tear itself apart, forming a "you're either with us or against us" type thing. So content creators who weren't with GabeN/MI were joining AGNMI, and anybody who wanted leak content would pretty much be shit out of luck unless they joined AGNMI as well. Though to get into the forums you'd have to know someone and be recommended. I remember Lambda would be a huge cunt and make fun of guys who just wanted some neat leak stuff by making them jump through all these hoops and do shit for him. Then AGNMI started attacking people making leak mods who weren't part of their little club, getting a good number of projects shut down. I doubt those mods would have gone anywhere regardless, but still, it's a really shitty thing to do. Lambda would also use all these stupid ass nicknames (which are mentioned a few posts up) and generally just be a goddamn brat about everything. Oh and he's STILL upset his youtube channel got fucked. He's older than me iirc, so he's somewhere over 21 years old, and he still carries this grudge. Like I said above, I regret ever believing his bullshit. So yeah I don't think he was a troll. He's just some childish freak who convinced a bunch of edgy teenagers and kids to join his secret club.

Pawnstick was never a member of Team GabeN or MI. He was a tester for GabeN and he made the theme for the Love Tub, that's it. I don't recognize the part about giving out passwords especially since that wouldn't be possible using the forum host "Father Grigori's" forums used. Pawnstick agreed to take the fall for taking over the YouTube account but he never had access as far as I remember. I'm fairly certain I still have access to it (I didn't 'ruin' it either, I just got access). I don't even think the videos were deleted but just set as private. Poison Zombie is older than 21 I'm not entirely sure how old, but I've been told at one point. Over the years we've gather a lot of personal information about people who frequented the AGNMI forums. We still have access to the hidden forums which were hilarious to read (still are!). AGNMI was actually a lot of motivation for us to keep working on MI because they gave somewhat useful critique, when AGNMI went away we slowly lost motivation to work with Source.

The full account of Father Grigori's (that I heard like second/third hand mind you) was the guy who ran it had autism or something along those lines and wasn't the brightest guy around, and he had access to everyone's account info including passwords. Pwnstick or someone associated with you guys managed to convince him that "for security purposes" he needed to hand over the passwords. So whoever it was got all the passwords, trashed the owner's account, which in turn meant nobody could join/rejoin becuase the forum required an admin to approve your account. So it all fell apart. Later whoever had the passwords used them to get into other accounts on other sites, one of which was Lambda's youtube account. Again this is just all that I've heard, could be wrong. Y'know I remember Lambda ranting about how he'd drop the whole agnmi thing and the huge grudge if he got his youtube account and all the videos back. I wonder what'll happen if you were to just give him access back. Maybe he'd stop being such a shit (unlikely) Oh lord you don't have any info oh me do ya? I mean I was like in middle school at the time (compared to now where I've started my third year of college) so I doubt whatever you may have is relevant now anyways.

Hell I wouldn't have even brought any of this up if I didn't notice Sgt. Stacker on the previous page. I've spent approximately 0% of my time in the last 4 years thinking about AGNMI. Only other thing I remember is when we finally did release 1.6 and read the reaction thread on AGNMI where someone admitted that they liked it, and then you guys started attacking each other like a pack of dogs to get rid of anyone who had even slightly positive things to say about MI. And about Father Grigori's Forum - that place was the very definition of a "hugbox." Any old crap that got posted would be met with a bunch of posts going "WOW! GOOD JOB! :D :D LOOKS AWESOME!!" and we seemed to be the only ones scratching our heads going "but.. this looks like shit! You put Combine posters on the floor, and traffic cones in the Borealis. And why is there a bright green tree in this industrial yard?" and that's how we were branded as a bunch of assholes.

The authors would post something fucked up and nonsensical on their VK pages (e. g. windmills and lighthouses on the Airex, the Citadel with all the misplaced textures, stuff stolen from MI and twisted), the subscribers would ALWAYS praise that, and I and my friend would have a particularly hard time acknowledging what's even going on, both of us being HL2 players for a decade. The worst part about it is how both teams have this huge tendency to speculate about 'optimising' Source engine while they know very little about it, and praising each other's work.

And the list goes on :v: You're definitely right in saying that it was a hugbox, but I think everyone liked it that way. It seemed like it was just a bunch of kids who wanted to try modding for the first time in the form of leak stuff. In my case, it's how I got interested in game development. I think the reason why MI members were public enemy #1 was because you guys seemed to rain on everyone's parade, even though you were pointing out legitimate errors/problems with the content that was being made. To everyone back then, it just seemed like you were doing it from a "we're better than all of you" perspective. Obviously that's not the case, but I think that's how everyone on grig's forum felt, myself [B]not [/B]included. So I see 18 new posts and think "oh hey maybe someone made something cool" but nah, it's just some fuckin' AGNMI drama bullshit. Really? On another note, does anyone know if there's ever been a remake (as in made from scratch, not a port) of any of the e3 maps? Cause I just started doing a remake of e3_terminal and it's turning out alright, so I was thinking of releasing if no one's done anything similar.

Why would you even bother remaking an E3 map from scratch? What even constitutes an "E3 map" if you're making it from scratch? You mean you are making a map that can only be played one specific way or else everything breaks?

Okay I suppose I should have been more specific, so here's what I'm doing exactly: I'm creating an updated, nicer looking version of the terminal plaza that was used in the e3 map. Not a recreation of the actual demo sequence, just a re-imagining and updating of the area itself. There won't be (much) gameplay, just an open-ended area to walk around in with some npcs and sequences, similar to the retail terminal. I'm really only doing it as a way to get back into source mapping, but I figured that if it turned out good enough, other people might find some interest in seeing it

Sounds worthwhile. I know of at least one other person who is doing something like that, but that's no reason to not try it out. It's good to see some original work.
